Oriental Kingdom Cafe reviews
46 Lovely food. Served quickly and efficiently.
Very nice staff. Place was humming. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
Good for beer, serving size, outdoor space. The food is not great. Practical choice especially with kids. Value.
Ordered chicken wings and a curry laksa at the counter, then boom only 5 mins had passed and it was on the table in front of me.
Its not like its the best food you'll ever eat or anything but for what you pay and what they'll put up with its a great venue!
Best place ever, super quick service and cheap amazing meals.my go to restaurant forever <333
The service, impeccable, fast friendly and FIECCE the lazy susan didn’t fail to impress although the sticky menus were not ideal.some ambient noise or live entertainment wouldn’t go a miss however we thoroughly enjoyed the vibes.the byo may be the best part but that’s for you to decide btw meals took forever!? But when you’re paying for an experience it’s worth it
Had the honour to speak to the chef Mr. Wang. He made us amazing authentic Chinese dishes after we explained our vegan dietary requirements (no meat, no oyster sauce, no meat broth)! Special shout out for his Spicey Mixed Vegetables (Ma La Tang)! Truly authentic!
Honestly, I only order two things when I come here. Roti chanai and a pork bun. A good place if you're spending on a budget but don't feel like McDonald's
Food was great staff were so rude. I have never felt so unwelcome in my life at ur restaurant. So disgusting the behaviour of ur staff.
Ordered 8 dumplings, my friend ordered a mains portion of mee goreng and a side of fries, her mee goreng was on the table within 3 minutes closely followed by her chips, I waited another nearly ten minutes and then heard a microwave beeping, and my dumplings were sitting in a thermonuclear heap in front of me shortly after. This was an appealing experience, do not reccomend. There is absolutely no way I would be paying for food if I knew it was going to be microwaved.
Delicious food. I had chicken shrimp rice. Only $10.60 and big portion! Very quiet ambiance. Friendly staff. Relaxing!
Got sweet and sour pork and some grilled wontons.
Terrible, pork was so greasy.
Wontons were burnt one side.
Do not recommend.
Tucked away from the main traffic QKC lies in a quiet lane off Cuba Street, next to Pegasus Books and opposite Satay Kingdom. It offers Chinese cuisine meals. It has been joined by 'new' neighbours such as Petra Cafe and Lo Mein (Asian cafe). Hopefully this trend will continue to grow. The night ambience in that area is quite good on fine nights and so it has the potential to be a good, open-air food court if enough eateries move in (and after a good spruce-up).
As for the meals that we tried they were of average standard. On the positive side, the pricing reflects what's on offer and it's location is ideal for young families because kids can run around the parameters freely after meals while adults catch up on coffee.
Will be visiting this place again in the future, hidden gem. Fast cheap food that will fill you up and some. Totally recommend.
Great food as always and nice to see the chef remembered me. Could have the soy sauce etc on the tables.
Great cheap roti. However some of the items of the menu are misleading for example saying it includes items when it does not. When a member of our party enquired why he did not get the food he ordered they rudely yelled at him and asked him to leave.
Get takeaway don’t stay for the service.
The best Kung Po chicken and Roti Chenei we have had in Wellington. We always come back to this place every time we are in Wellington.
Great cheap Roti chanai. Not much else. It’s never busy.
Poor atmosphere, no music, not really clean.
Come here if you’re desperate for a cheap meal as your last resort.
Great place, awesome Beef Rendang and almost as fast as Macca's to prepare your food.
Owner was a bit crazy when we try to use the toilets as he thought that we were not eating there, unnecessary behaviour.
Great place though, will definitely recommend.
Oriental Kingdom Café was the best place I ate during my trip to Wellington! Friendly staff, really quick service- by reallu quick, i mean we were seated for 5 minutes before my friend's meal was brought to her. I got the sweet and sour chicken with rice and it was the most flavoursome meal I'd had in a while. 100% would visit again
