Lovely atmosphere, but the food left something to be desired. The ramen was nice enough, the pork belly somewhat bland while the tofu was delicious, but the desserts were a mixed bag. Beautifully presented, but while the Yuzu tart and chocolate cherry was amazing and sweet, the Banoffee cake was so bitter and horrible that the entire family tried a piece, spat it out, and then we threw it out. Overall the food seems to be either amazing or terrible, but the interior was nice and the staff were helpful too.

Been twice within the space of a week and tried to order our drinks (the same drinks both times) and was told they were sold out? We went two very different times and were very unhappy so had to settle for drinks we didn’t even really want.

We bought the teriyaki tofu and pork belly ramen. The noodles were nice, with a perfect broth. The tofu was also cooked to perfection.
For dessert, we went all out and tried everything. The cherry was gorgeous, and it was great to have something dairy free and still delicious. The yuzu tart was incredible! Highly recommended! The toasted matcha was also amazing.
We would have given the place 5 stars, if it hadn't been for the disappointment of the banoffee gingerbread, which was bitter and had no toffee, but had chocolate mousse instead. We ended up throwing it away, it was that bad.

Absolutely incredible food, is now our new favourite in Wellington. Highly recommend the cocktails, teriyaki chicken and at least 1 dessert plus 1 takeaway dessert as they will leave u thinking about them all night!

Have been a customer of this restaurant for about 6 years and I have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. The service could be a bit more friendly but apart from that it's still good

Ordered from UberEats and was beyond pleased with the freshness quality flavour of the salmon avo roll and edamame beans. I am definitely now going to go in to have an experience at the restaurant. Best Sushi in Wellington so far.for me.

My daughter and I were having a day out and she picked Origami for lunch. We had the most amazing lunch together, mainly the vegan options and everything was delicious, and really different to a lot of the standard dishes that you find around town. The decor is lovely (although one of our seats was in need or repair) and we left with very full, but very happy pukus. We are going to keep it as our secret lunch spot for all our future shopping trips!

Duck made me ill. Staff were disinterested and didn't offer any resolution. Ruined my evening. Bad music as well. Overpriced fast food.

Great service. The non-white rice alternative use was a great touch. The miso soup was the best I have had in years. It's worth going there just for that.

Have been here several times for dinner. Amazing food and wonderful staff. The food is some of the best I have had and the quality of the individual dishes is very high. On each occasion we have been to Origami the staff have been wonderful! They are very knowledgeable about the menu, accommodating to dietary requirements, and overall great with customer service.

Great friendly helpful staff. Enjoyed the gyoza. The miso aubergine was delicious. We all enjoyed the fries. Generous servings. I was disappointed however with the miso ramen. It was meant to be pork belly, but there was only 2 slices of pork (not pork belly) it was a bit bland. Hubby said the curry was okay. Desserts were lovely and well presented. Loved the flower tea

Mains, side dishes, teas were a highlight. All great portion sizes. Fast and friendly service. Highly recommend

Takeaway order was missing a required dessert and an entree, was told that I’d get the money back but didn’t hence the rating.

I've been coming here since they opened and white they've shrunk the menu considerably from when they opened the food is ALWAYS good.

We stopped at Origami for dessert and tea. Desserts looked very pretty and tasted ok. However, service is very bad. We ordered a pot of tea and after 10 mins of waiting we had to ask again. Four waiters were talking at the back and had no intention to bring tea to us. After we asked, the tea was delivered to the table almost immediately. It was obviously they did not check what they've done. The tea mix did not even cover bottom of the strainer; hot water was below the strainer with tea. So, instead of Japanese tea it was just hot water. Very disappointing to see 4 waiters doing nothing with only 4 customers in the restaurant.

Very reasonably priced food, which was absolutely delicious. Despite them being busy they were happy to take us without booking and gave us prompt and high quality service. Flavours were excellent.

Ramen is delicious. Service and atmosphere is mediocre at best. The servers are all disorganized, they are caishers, bus people and waiters. They should each have a role for better organization. Waited for a table to be cleaned which was quick 5 minutes but Waited over 15 for someone to then take my order since everyone was running around in circles.

Enjoyed the WesternJapanese fusion in the food. Good selection of desserts, unfortunately they do not serve coffee but serve tea, cocktails, mocktails, wine and sake. Friendly service from staff despite the restaurant being busy.

The service was amazing considering the staff were so busy. Katsu chicken was delicious and melting in the mouth. Food was good quality for what you pay, one of the best Japanese restaurants in Wellington.
