I would like to thank Alex Lyudin for all his help over the last couple of days concerning my back pain. I really do appreciate his care and understanding.

If I could give a lower rating I would. Admin staff are rude and condescending. Had access to medical care restricted over an $8 overdue admin fee that was added after I payed their exorbitant repeat prescription fee. All to contact my Dr to ask them to send a blood test form that said they would send at my last appointment, which I paid full price for.

Was laughed at by Anna Phipps the manager when I questioned if it was ethical to restrict access to medical care for $8. After initially agreeing to reinstate my access she then changed her mind after being challenged.

I have been a patient at this practice for over 20 years.

This practice cares more about money than people and is exploiting the Dr shortage on the Coast. Would gladly go somewhere else if I could.

Money hungry centre! The old lady with brown hair and glasses who works at Reception is awful and always asks what’s wrong when I ring for appointments. Scripts never get done or are “lost” it’s a pity we can’t go anywhere else! Also dr is always very, very late! I do have other things to do and other appointments during the day! I’ve never been into the drs room on time! Always at least 30mins overtime! Super annoying!

Useless management and rubbish service.

I spoke to their nurse who told me to come in and register as I was new to the area and would be able to do so, only to take the day off work to be turned away by the receptionist who didn't listen or care.
The manager didn't even come out to speak to me and was hiding around the corner and didn't want to know.
Don't waste your time with these childish girls.

Rude, condescending administration staff. Regularly spoken to with a short, sharp rude and patronising manner. Have been refused an appointment to get merina removed (had been bleeding for 3months straight), due to a $20 outstanding fee that I had made a junior staffer check "thoroughly" as I was certain it needed to be said for my Son. I was eventually seen as I refused to leave till I had it removed due to the severity of my medical issue. On many occasions, I hung up or left crying due to the way I have been treated by the admin. The doctors are fine some are great. But admin worst ever dealt with. After finally sending an official conplaint. I will finally be leaving to a Porirua doctor as I couldn't find one that had room for me besides Hora te psi in Paraparaumu.

I had to have a covid test due to working in health industry and having a cold. Just want to thank Denise for efficiency and calmness in taking the call and doing the test. I am not a patient of the centre and it had taken from a half hour wait on waikanae health centre to be told to ring 0800 number, On and on until I contacted paraparaumu medical at 230 and I was down there by 3 pm.
Thankyou Denise.

Receptionist was rude and unhelpful, I dont think this is the job for her, she couldn't have been more disinterested if she'd tried.

Clearly in the red so don't bother. Forgot to pay after once, received a ugly, desperate phone call a day later. Next appointment told on phone have to pay on the day. Didn't object. Arrived. Wasted time checking in on computer as it never works. Told had to pay upfront. All for. $19. Don't bother won't be here much longer.

Upsetting experience at this centre on Tuesday. There had been a misunderstanding between Triton and myself, my appointment had been mistaken, and I needed to hand in my hearing aid. Receptionist seemed unable to understand, almost amused at my problem, sidelined me, saying PMC had nothing to do with Triton except to rent a room. I had to ask to see the practice manager before anyone began to understand. Reception staff are not responding to the email address on their website, nor does the website invite complaints or comments. Uncommonly, this PMC receptionist was unhelpful, "cannot do, will not do" and passively provocative. Staff need to welcome and helpfully support service providers and their patients from the extended health care teams, not send patients away in tears. Throughout NZ, receptionists in general are an undertrained, undervalued members of the primary team and often need significant upgrading. Here, maybe with a lunchtime/evening conversazione between staff and extended team providers might help. Sidelining distressed patients is never the best way forwards, and neither is ignorance. All patients are human beings with problems, needing what NZ does best - can do, and caring. It is not enough to just tick boxes in a list. Must do better next time! Ahakoa he iti, he pounamu.

Haven't been able to see my GP for over three years due to over booking! Can never get through to reception and leaving a message results in no returned calls. GPs and nurses are great but can't see them. Going to investigate other practices as we can never get the kids in.

Edit: the manager of the center had got hold of me soon after posting my review (surprise, surprise!) And assured me that there were processes in place to make change. I'm pleased to say that those processes have made a real difference and have been persisted. Well done guys.

My wife received excellent care at the centre after giving birth at the centre mid September. The staff was very caring toward her and our girl and the postnatal suite is so comfortable it was just what we needed after a slightly complicated birth. We felt genuinely cared for and our experiences at the centre really went beyond our expectations. Thanks you!

I’m always able to get same day appointments for my kids, doctors and nurses are friendly while being super thorough, premises are clean and tidy with a comfortable waiting room. Prices are reasonable for adult consults, free for kids.

Very average. Don't feel like they care here. Don't get me wrong, they get the job done but considering you rely on them to take care of you they just treat you like another faulty part.

I've been going here since before I was born, and I'm still here 24 years later, I likely wouldn't be if not for the great and friendly team here at Paraparaumu Medical Center. Absolutely top.

No practice manager. Administrator who works only a couple of days a week. Long wait for appointments. Go else where.
