I had some sports injury this morning so called the clinic between 11: 30 am to 12pm asking if I could see a doctor in the afternoon. I wanted to make sure it's not serious as I don't want to have to go to ED tomorrow if it gets worse (Saturday tomorrow so the clinic will be closed). I was told a triage nurse will call back. I waited for two hours and called back the Medical Centre, the receptionist on the phone said 'your name is on the list, you will get a call'. I thanked him and waited longer but by 5: 30pm I didn't get any call and I realised that it was already closed. I'm not happy with the service I have received.

If you expect to get an appointment without waiting at least a week to see the doctor then I would suggest visiting anywhere else. I haven’t been able to see my usual doctor for the last 3 visits and on my most recent visit I was rushed out within 5 minutes and told “we don’t have time to discuss that” when I brought up getting a simple prescription. Not only do I wait weeks for appointments but then when I get one I’m not given the full 15 minutes of my appointment time that I booked. I have no complaints about my usual doctor Chitra as she has always been extremely kind and accomodating but the wait times to see her are just too long.

Young polynesian male receptionist is very rude when he answers phone and then starts yelling on phone when things were misunderstood from my end. At the end of the day whether customer is right or wrong you should have proper phone manners and be polite. If you want to be in that type of field work then prepare to take on challenges that you don't like. If you don't like it change your occupation.

I've been coming to this medical centre for over 20 years with my family and i have never had any issues till now. I really miss some of the previous people who started this centre. It is really sad to see what PMC has come to with the lack of respect for their customers and patients. The current Receptionist people are appalling! I'm sorry to say but I am registering me and my family at another medical centre.

Today's female receptionist was very rude. She kept interrupting me, didn't listen and hung up on my face.

Today the rating is low as it's very long waiting list, for booking an appointment you need to wait a week and even couple of weeks, all nurses are busy too.
Hope this will change in the future

Male receptionist is very rude. He wouldn't listen to what I am saying and would just suggest to go to after hours without listening to the problem. Very unhelpful, anyone would only call when there is a problem.

Thank you all for your time this afternoon, I came in to regester my children at your centre and I was so thankful for your help and understanding. All of the staff that I delt with were kind, caring and professional. This made the process so easy and pleasent.

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the process, people are often quick to complain but don't often say when they experience great service.

Our family looks forward to getting to know you all in the future.

Would like to thank Dr Chitra, had been unwell for a day or two and called in to see if any available appointments needing to get some antibiotics as I felt like I had some kind of chest infection, the lovely young lady receptionist mentioned no appointments left but will have a doctor call me as it sounded urgent. Half an hour later Dr Chitra called and we discussed my symptoms etc so had a phone consult and she said I sound clogged up and have an infection and will send a prescription to a pharmacy near me as I am all the way in Porirua now. Took her less than 10 mins and I got text that it was sent and to go pick up, since starting antibiotics in the last 24 hours I feel so much better and able to get out of bed! Thank you so much Dr Chitra and the lovely receptionist for helping me!

Have been going to this medical centre many times and everytime I go I am disappointed. Receptionist is very rude in the way she communicates even to my husband who is a New Zealander while I'm originally from overseas, so my English isn't perfect. I can see that other people feel the same way about the receptionist and is treated differently depending on race and colour. While i was waiting for my appointment which was delayed nearly 1 hour one time. My husband went to check if something was wrong but the receptionist just told him to wait without any apologises. It made me feel disrespected and angry when if we are late for appointments we would get in trouble but if we wait is that suppose to be alright? I don't think so. In the end we still paid for our appointment even though we had waiting for such a long time. I hope this doesn't happen to any other person, we go there to get medical help but in the end it just stresses me even more.

Requested pain medication to help with my intense back spasms that have debilitated me and taken me out of work at several different times and was given paracetamol for the pain. I requested some stronger medication so I can continue to work in event the spasms re-emerge because I can't afford to take time off, but was denied because it would make me drowsy (I work an office job, and working drowsy getting paid is much more preferable for me than taking time off unpaid and/or losing my job).

Service here is just terrible all the way through from the receptionist to the nurses to the doctors. All they said is it your symptoms are not too bad and it shouldn't take too long for you to recover.
You can take paracetamol Or Ibuprofen, the one and only magic medicine (for adults) they always prescribed no matter what.
In the other hand, we had a situation here with our son where we saw the doctors 3-4 times and nothing was done until I said we have a private insurance so please to be referred to a paediatrician. That was the only way our son could get through his 3-4 months sickness, fortunately enough the medicine prescribed by the specialist (note, the specialist DO NOT work for Peninsula) cured our son.
The system here at Peninsula is just broken.
If you have a chance to go somewhere else do NOT hesitate to do it.

I am not a client however have been extremely unwell for a week and rung Healthline who advised me to get a covid test. Since I am unwell they advised to go as close to home as possible and gave me 3 testing stations to ring. When I rung Peninsula the receptionist was rude unsympathetic and said healthline shouldn't have done that. She gave me a 'special covid 0800 number' which was healthlines number again. I rung this surgery back and spoke to another rude receptionist who was not helpful or caring in any way. Fair enough if they don't do the the testing but the manner in which they spoke and their lack of helpfulness they should work elsewhere. And as a side note they DO covid testing

Best doctors and nurses, always helpfull and especially nurse Helen. Ive had years of stomach pain that needed to be treated and i suffer from anxiety to antibiotics due to a bad experience in my past. There was no way ill be able to do a triple therapy with antibiotics. I have been to councelling, i tried to do everything so i can take the triple therapy and nothing was working until i meet nurse Helen. With tears in my eyes i write this review as she is the only one that gave me so much courage and talked me into doing it assuring me that i will be safe even if i had an alergic reaction. I have no words in thanking her (nurse Helen) for her warm heart and making me feel safe when i take my therapy. Thank you nurse Helen from the bottom of my heart for not only being a nurse but for caring for your patients as much as you have for me.
Kind Regards,
Lavinia Barbaroussis

Just left this medical centre and I'm appalled by the attitude of the elderly lady receptionist. The WAY she spoke to me was very rude. Not what she said but HOW she said it. I called to let her know, and I'm sure the Male receptionist that picked the phone told her why I called because she still had attitude and she wasn't remorseful when I explained to her that I didn't like how she spoke to me and how she made me feel. I'm disgusted that a human being would hurt another human being and remain cold about it. Sad that one person can taint a place where other people are working hard to make everyone feel welcome.

I waited a week to have an appointment at this medical centre. When I showed up for my appointment at the scheduled time, I was told that I had cancelled my own appointment on the day I made the booking. I only made one call to them that day and that was to make the booking. I even received a text reminder yesterday that I have my appointment today. Receptionist was apologetic but had no explanation why my appointment magically got cancelled. I expected the issue to be rectified and to still be seen today as I had taken time off work. Instead, I am now rebooked in for later in the week and will have to wait another few days to be seen. Very disappointing!

Dr. Chitra is the best GP of them all. Personally have had a really good experience at this medical centre.

They’ve gone downhill a lot. I used to see Aine McCoy who was fabulous, but when she retired I was told I would have a replacement sorted “shortly. ” I was never advised who this was, it’s been nearly a year now so whenever I see a doctor I’m just advised to go with whoever’s available. Means so much inconsistency. Wait times are horrendous, even going off-peak times as I’m a shift worker; one time I waited 30 minutes, advised reception and they said it wouldn’t be much longer. Another 15 minutes and I had to leave for work - the girl apologised but by then it was too late. Looking elsewhere now, it’s a shame.

If it was just for the rude staff then i'd be able to live with it but the fact that Dr. Jeffrey Law has now on two independent occasions proved to be the worst doctor i've ever consulted is absolutely unacceptable.

My mother came to visit New Zealand and needed a consultation with the results of a blood test to be sent to her doctor in Switzerland just in case she'd require further treatment.
Dr. Law was supposed to send the results as they go to him directly but he never did.
He also displayed a unwillingness to even take the necessary tests to make sure everything is ok. Simply on the basis that her illness is rare in NZ.
What if she would have needed further treatment? Her doctor would have never received the results and could not have taken action.

The other occasion was 2 years ago when i went to the clinic with a kidney infection, weak and delirious.he refused to give me antibiotics or even order blood tests even though i had been laying in bed with fever for a whole weekend and had lost about 5kg because i couldnt eat anything.

Only my partner raising her voice convinced him to order tests and prescribe antibiotics.

This kind of behaviour is dangerous!
He should be fired!
