Phuthai Esarn Restaurant reviews
41 Always a delight coming here! Both food and service are excellent.
Recommend Karee puffs, whole fish dish and Tom Yum
Have been there for both dine in and takeaways. Always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere too. Friendly staff.
Very kind staff. Good tofu fried rice and jasmine tea. So so pad see ew (a little too sweet and tofu soggy) and veggie fresh spring roll.
Food and atmosphere is great but service has been bit slow on both occasions I have been here
Exceptional, the food was unbelievable quick service great atmosphere. Seriously if you go to Wellington go here or your missing out. 10/10 delicious
Went there for lunch and ordered their $16.50 beef and oyster sauce special. I was impressed by the generous amount of beef vs vegetables and loved the flavour and freshness. Would definitely go again!
My wife and I love Thai cuisine. We sometimes travel from Malaysia to Thailand just to experience the authentic Thai food and presentation. We were googling for one in Wellington and decided to try this one. Great food, lovely atmosphere, warm service. Serving, taste and service were authentic enough for a Thai restaurant in NZ! Definitely one of the best we’ve tried in NZ. Recommended!
We had dinner on a Saturday as walk in. It was our first time here as recommended by a friend. We arrived as soon as they opened ant 5pm and we were happily accommodated. They just did some shifting of tables and chairs as we’re only a group of 3. We were nicely informed that we have to return the table by 6: 30pm and asked if it’s ok with us. We ordered our food straight away as I have already planned ahead what to order before coming to the restaurant. We didn’t wait long for the entrees and the rest of our food to come out. The friendly waiter even offered to take a photo of our group which was nice. The food all tastes really good even their water. We will be back again for sure to try their other dishes on the menu.
Great tasting food in a slightly chaotic surrounding. Basic washroom facilities but good value food.
Excellent Thai cuisine in a small charming location slightly off the main restaurant area. Service was polite and efficient. Had the red mixed appetizer plate, curry seafood, chicken stir fry with cashews and carrot salad. Everything was fresh. Very reasonably priced. Limited wine list but good options. Can bring your own.
Best Thai food in Wellington. I was craving for Thai food and I was not disappointed. Good portion and price too. The whole fish was so delicious and Pad Thai is the must have. We also had deep fried ice cream for dessert and it was such a good combination the warm crispy coating and cold ice cream. Definitely will be back again.
Just had a works dinner here. Food was outstanding, varied, and abundant and we were all looked after very well. Would definitely come back!
Price discrepancies between online website and dine in. Rice is not included in dine in prices like the online menu.
Top quality food. Especially the curries. My favourite BYO; my friends are always impressed. Very quick plus friendly service. Reasonable pricing and large proportions. Mild spiciness is perfect for most NZers.
To the chefs there I added prawns for extra $5 only 4 prawns were given thought that was a rip off why So cheap with giving the prawns
Not authentic thai taste. Meal was bland. Authentic Thai dishes is meant to be very spicy. The dishes here are not spicy. So not Authentic.
Gracious and polite service. Delicious food. The food is a quick to arrive. Great lunch deal. Very reasonable price for both dine in and take away. Adequate portions.
Food was good
I will rate 6/10.
Also ordered lamb stir fry but had to Sent it back, meat taste old not fresh.
But nice customer service
We went their for my birthday dinner with family. Loved the ambiance, service and food quality. This was the first time my parents tried Thai cuisine and they loved it. Plenty of Vegetarian options and sauces were delicious.
I vist this restaurant quite regularly and love it. Recently noticed sudden change in price which is ok but was quie disappointed by the quality of the service when I visited here earlier this week. Firstly rhe Entree was served with the main without any confirmation from the customer. Also the main (Chicken Cashew Nut) served to me was below average, it was cold, had barely any meat init. Seemed like it was leftover from an existing order!
