Piccolo Restaurant reviews
56First time here in Wellington and so glad to end up dining in Piccolo. Cozy place and Food is delightful! Best pizza and lasagne we’ve had so far. Would definitely recommend this place.
Gorgeous wee place with friendly staff who went the extra mile for us, even giving us a complimentary pizza while we waited. Delicious pizzas which were amazing the next day too! Will definitely be back when we come back to Wellington, and dine in next time.
There were no customers when I went there late at night, but when I said I wanted to eat, they said it was okay.
It's beautiful here.
An antique atmosphere and calm music welcome me. You can take pretty pictures.
I ordered Beef lasagne and Pan con olio. When I asked about the menu, I was given a detailed answer. And the food came out sooner than expected. The lasagane was light and the pan con olio was soft. It was nice to be able to eat comfortably alone. It was a delicious meal. I would like to visit again.
Thanks chef.
This tiny wee spot isn't the flashiest but the food was fantastic. The night we went it was just one person looking after everything. We had the ravioli Della Nonna, garlic bread and beef lasagne with some Montepulciano & it was all fantastic. Will definitely be back
10/10 will go everytime I visit Wellington.
The one individual working the night me and my brother visited (3 times now) is the sweetest oler gentleman we had ever met.
The music playing in the background coupled with the unique decor gave off an old school, tavern like atmosphere which felt very comfortable in despite being on the city's outskirt.
The food was good but the atmosphere was better, keep it up guys!
I enjoyed my vegetariano pizza with thin and crisp slices. But the cosy atmosphere is really everything you need.
Ordered a “Pollo” pizza.was the only pizza open within walking distance. The photo makes it look bigger than it was - $22.00 for a small pizza with a scattering of “chicken” and a few mushrooms. I wanted to like this but recommend to choose elsewhere sorry.
Best Spag bol I've ever had.
Ended up here late one night and he was kind enough to keep the restaurant open for us. Go and support this Fella and his brilliant food!
Honestly the best carbonara pasta I’ve ever had in my entire life. I ordered via Uber Eats, and their food literally saved my entire day! Thank you for giving customers honest good food with great portions! My partner also had one of their pizzas and you can tell that their pizza dough is house made! 10/10 will be back again!
I swear to Allah, if you want to find a genuine GOOD comforting taste of pizza, ITS THIS PLACE. The little-cottage atmosphere is really what hits the nail in this restaurant. Highly recommend for those that want a quiet me-time under a warm light, or to impress your date in a restaurant built for the two!
2 x pizza not worth $40 at all! Tasted like cardboard and old food toppings. Don't see how they are legally allowed to sell food from the very un-food-safe kitchen. Won't be going back here again! Waste of 40 bucks, dared ourselves to eat 1 slice.not nice.
Always delicious and taste like it’s made with a lot of love! They still accept our late night orders! Thanks Piccolo!
Spinach lasagna has hit perfectly everytime I've had it delivered. Can't wait to come into the store and have a sit down meal.
Same as plenty of the other reviews I'm seeing. Worst food I've eaten in months, I've had better pasta sauces straight out of a jar.
Il Piccolo is, without a doubt, my favourite place to eat. The furnishings are adorable, the staff are friendly, and the food is DIVINE. I cannot overstate how good the food here is. I have never been left unsatisfied by a meal here (although I don't think they have any vegan options) I have been hesitant to recommend Il Piccolo publicly only because it's a small restaurant and I almost don't want others to know about it. It has been a standout favourite with everyone I have taken there, and despite its size, I have never seen it too busy. They seem to make more business from takeout than dine-in, so there always seem to be free tables and they're always happy to reserve a table for you if you phone them.
Recently ordered food from here. The pizza was okay, the base was dry and did not seem to be freshly made. Was rather stale and had that supermarket taste, which is a shame because the topping was delicious. The lasagna was average but has no Béchamel sauce which makes me question how Italian this place actually is. Béchamel is kind of the star in a lasagna. Overall it was okay but nothing that I would order again.
The bases of this pizza are bought from the supermarket it’s quite obvious and tastes so. It even has the small holes in them. The base was crispy and over done. Go to another pizza place or grab one from the supermarket is my best recommendation. I had been here a while back and was so much better I don’t know if it has changed hands as it is no longer BYO or licensed so that made me think.
This place is quite something, the size, the interior and the atmosphere is to be experienced in person.food tastes great too!)
This was the Absolute best Pizza and Garlic bread I have ever had!
Thank you for the great service!
Best restuarant in New Zealand.
Unfortunately, a poor quality experience. The place is unclean, dark and uninviting. The food we had (ravioli) was clearly from a packet - we could hear the microwave beeping. The food is priced like a restaurant but is clearly something you can cook from a pack of pasta and a can of sauce. Disappointed. I'm usually not picky but I think the owners need to put some effort in to make the restaurant viable.
