Dr Barrett is the best GP I've ever had and she's been fantastic to work with, went above and beyond, very sad to be moving away. Incredibly trans friendly practice, too Lynda was also always lovely to deal with. My only feedback would be that requesting repeat prescriptions through the website is a little cumbersome and I'd prefer for it to go through the ManageMyHealth app.

The Doctors, Nurses and allied staff here are amazing, but everyone I’ve spoken with has no end of trouble with the receptionist Lynda who is rude, condescending and unprofessional.
Would be 5 stars rather than 2 otherwise.

The receptionist Linda is pure malice. I don't know why someone would work in the medical field if totally devoid of compassion

Bad experience, I have been a year and a half in this Heath care and I saw a new doctor on each appointment. I paid $75 for my baby check up (5 minutes) when it is supposed to be for free for babies.

DONT GO THERE! I paid 95$ for one call from the doctor (5minutes), and he give me the good remedy but not for enough time, so I'm still sick, and I have to pay again 95$ for the same prescription.
Good business for the center.
The secretary wasn't trying to help me and don't listen the patient.

Jan Barrett is THE best Dr I've had the pleasure of dealing with over the years, and I've dealt with more than most. She can run behind time, but that's generally because she's so popular and prob struggles with her work load. But if you want THE best in town, look no further. Lynda on the front desk is awesome and friendly to deal with too. A great team.

Once again changed the GP but waste of money, i been telling my problem and all i got is same answer which makes no sense.
I think i think and i think.
I’m not there to hear what you think i need medication for problems I got.
Completely waste but had no option to go anywhere in urgency.

If you expect a medical centre with appointments that are run on time this is not the place for you. I booked the second appointment of the day once and it was late by 30 minutes.thats almost impressively bad time management. Also if your appointment runs overtime (which the doc/nurse/receptionist won't tell you while you're in there) you're just charged extra when you leave and when booking an appointment for a procedure I wasn't told I'd be charged at a higher rate than my age group specifies on their website. I was expected to put up an extra $100 when I went to pay. That being said they're a really lovely clinic, I would send anyone they're way if they ran on time.

Don't go here unless you're desperate. According to the PHO website Smith is the most expensive GP in Wellington. Gave me the impression that they are more interested in Botox etc than actual medicine.

I have been to Port Nicholson several times for myself and my children in the last year. I find the staff and doctors warmly professional. The care they provided has always been excellent and detailed. I pay out of pocket as an ex pat working here but have found the rates much less comparable to doctors of the same caliber in the States.

I highly recommended Port Nicholson, in particular, Dr. Trish Reeves who is simply wonderful!

OMG how things change. For many years, Lorraine was the best GP inWellington and everyone went to her. But over the ;last 5 years she has totally lost he plot. The hooro stories I hear are sooo bad. Endless wrong diagnoses, obsession with routine tests like mammograms when you present with a different urgent problem, really wrong things entered on files. RUN. I now don't know anyone who still goes to her. Jan Barret is good but often seems rundown and overwhelmed. Trish just does what Lorraine says. A number of people have called the medical council about her, but I don't think anyone has gone through with a complaint.

I highly recommend Port Nicholson Medical. The staff are friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The location is great and there is a pharmacy close by which is convenient to pick up my prescriptions.
