Quality Inn Angus reviews
76We booked a room at the last minute and they were happy to accomodate us, thankfully…lovely hotel…the bed was SUPER COMFY, king size. We loved seeing Pickles the cockatoo…thanks for a great stay…see you again!
For what you pay for night very poor
Light switches hard to find
Shower toilet facilities dangerous danger of slipping
Old, tired in need of an upgrade basic TV no Sky.too expensive for what you get ended up leaving and staying somewhere else
Staff super friendly, great price on the night, lots of parking, real supprised just how nice the room was
It was a cold abnegation miserable couple of days, but it was no warmer inside (except the rooms)
Food was OK, and I had a good and an average coffee.
But I poetically will return
Very efficient and helpful staff, can't fault their meeting room service. Very good coffee too. Would use them again.
It was a nice big room but would've been nice if there was air con in the rooms.
Room service was really good. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. They provided with a cot which was nice. We came for a wedding and stayed here and the rooms are big enough for us 4 girls to get ready in. Everyday the room was restocked with toiletries and other things. Heaps of parking available and just next to the Queens gate mall.
Overall was a nice with big comfortable bed to stay at and rest.
With our recent Early Ford V8 Nationals based here, I as organiser, can only add praise to the management who stated from day 1 when we 1st met that nothing would be a problem. This certainly was the case and my thanks must extend to O'Neil as Manager who went over and above his duty including doing parking control himself and to all his staff including the friendly receptionists, plus all the cleaning staff who all did a marvelous job in ensuring our week long stay went without a hitch. The only glitch was the 1st nights meal with a shortage of the planed potatoes dish and pork but this was soon rectified and all the rest of the meals were well above expectation. I did not have any complaints as to room service and would highly recommend this facility in the future.
Had dinner with my niece fantastic catch up shes local so it was her venue choice but food n service was fantastic
Myself and my husband have stayed at The Angus this weekend. The room was very spacious and very clean, comfy bed and lovely linen. There will be some who say the decor is dated and the furniture, but it had everything you needed, coffee, a good selection of tea sachets, sugar etc, milk, mini fridge hairdryer, iron. The shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water.and the bathroom had body wash, shampoo etc were replenished regularly. I also liked that we were on the ground floor and had french doors we could open with access to outside, coming from Christchurch and being a bit twitchy about earthquakes. The staff were attentive and friendly. Also its position in Lower hutt is the best, you are moments from Queensgate mall, and everything down town had to offer. What more could you want. I would definitely stay there again
Stayed here for 2 nights. Asked for a room with air conditioning, didn't get it, just a fan Very outdated furniture, bed had bits of sacking falling off it, from underneath, got caught around my foot. Maybe time to replace? ! No spare pillows. Lucky there was an extra bed to take some off. Past leaky roof in passage, bucket sat there while we were there, even though there was no wet weather. Bathroom was good, but steamed up really badly.
We decided to go for dinner in the restaurant on site. Apparently new menu. Warm coleslaw, warm glass of lemonade, over cooked chicken. Didn't return for 2nd night.
On a plus note, the front reception staff were lovely.
There is no microwave or toaster. No bowls, plates, cutlery or dishsoap. They have a teatowel with no dishes. Hotel needs upgrading
Under Earth Quake Strengthening and Restoration my Husband works for Hastings Demolition Crew awesome team work HDC
What a fabulous hotel this is. The staff are so warm and friendly and bend over backwards to be helpful. I had purchased a very large cake for my daughters 30th birthday and they were only too happy to help store this cake in their walk in chiller for a few hours prior to the event. Everything went off without a hitch. Thankyou sooo much to the wonderful staff at the Angus Inn. Angus Inn, Lower Hutt, you rock!
We had our Christmas Function at the Angus and all our staff had such great feedback on the food, the atmosphere, and especially how helpful and friendly their staff members were. Highly recommend utilising their function crew and venue.
Very obliging receptionist. Did the best she could with what was available. Suited our needs
Last stayed 4 years ago. Work booked me-but it was really good. Steep stairs: lovely desk lady whipped my suitcase up. Clean and well serviced. Car secure with cameras monitored. Great
We stayed at The Angus Hotel in October 2 x adults 2 x children. The room was clean, comfortable and regularly serviced. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Yes the hotel needs some updating however the hotel was advertising that they had a plan in place for rhis to happen. Pickles the hotel mascot was a hit with the children and adults alike. Excellent location and will again stay there again
Service was great but if you are suffering from claustrophobia or anxiety like i do then this hotel is not for you as everything is closed in terms of room and hallway ratio. The rooms are not equipped with microwave or bowls or any dishwashing liquid.
Steep rise staircase to access the upper floor difficult for oldies. Stained carpet in room. Stained bedspread. Very low bed. No mirror in the room. Bathroom mirror condensates badly due to ineffective extraction fan. You know you're in trouble when the first page in the guest information is a letter from the owner admitting that he knows the standard of the hotel is bad but they are planning to update over the next few years. It didn't stop them charging a lot of money for the room however. On the plus side wonderful staff, particularly on reception. Very good food in the restaurant and at the function we attended. Whole place has an air of shabbiness that disappoints, can't recommend.
