Southern Cross Garden Bar Restaurant reviews
73Three things I hope to find at an eatery. Good service. Lovely food. Cleanliness. Initially service was okay. Waned as the time went on. The food had a few customers leaving their meals unfinished. Scrambled eggs had eggs on two pieces of toast which looked unappetising. The toilet area was not as clean as it should be. Floors were particularly grubby. This is all fixable. Hope they read this and accept the criticism as intended. Cheers.
Thank you for providing a great venue and food for a reunion. Loved that we were off to one side and we could all hear each other)
Visiting home from Melbourne and enjoyed both visits with friends lots of fun and great vibes
Amazing food and service, so accomodating as we had kids with us as well. Great atmosphere and amazing staff!
I love the Southern Cross
I've been there with different friend groups, family, and work; and have been inside and outside, and I always have a great time.
The service is always top notch, and the food (while a little expensive) is always tasty
Good vibe and experience but lack of servers. Was in a group of 20 for over 2 hours and only got served 3 times unfortunately. Besides that the staff were lovely and gave me a free drink for my 21st.
Always love a bit of stonegrill, friendly staff with great service, even for larger groups! Had a group of >20 during level 2 and they still did a great job!
Last night we came to southern Cross for a graduation dinner. We were looked after by David. WOW what a superstar! David was polite, funny and looked after all 30+ of us really well. We all talked about how he made our evening so enjoyable - having a good server really impacts the way the night goes (sometimes) and Wow we all loved David. Give David a Raise! Such good vibes.
Very nice garden space for drinks and nibbles. Was there for a business function and worked very well even with covid restricted service. Well placed for a wander down Cuba after.
A very nice place to dine for a family. There was plenty of choice, that suited young and older members. I would recommend this establishment.
Great vibe and on to it staff with level 2 restrictions. Caught up with friends who had recently arrived back in town and we were looked after wonderfully.
Good food, good drinks, great ambience, good service. The missing star is because they did not have several of the beers on their menu available when we visited. But that might not even be something they can fix in the current environment.
Their vegan bowl (or Buddha bowl) was one of my favorites along with vegan honey soy cauliflower bites. (This was on the old menu)
There are amazing Art classes for kids with Dan Wilkinson every school holiday. We come regularly and it is 2 hours awesome experimenting for kids with different colours of paper, pens and chalks. My daughter really loves this classes and always asks about them. Thank you Southern Cross Garden for being more than just bar and restaurant.
Very good. Food was excellent. Get the pork belly bites, even if your wife looks at you sideways. We've all got to die of something, and I'll be happy if it's death by pork fat.
Got to say our most recent meal at Southern Cross was disappointing. Dry burgers, over battered fish and overcooked fries. Coleslaw tasted like it had been sitting to long and was starting to ferment.
Southern Cross has been a long time favourite of ours. Really hope we just had a bad night, rather than this being indicative of a shift in quality.
Im not angry, just disappointed.
I don't know what happened tonight but yeah,
Waitress disappeared on us without a word. Some other waiter did his best, but when we finally got our food just on 2 hours after entering it was a eat a just wanted to get out of there scenario. Staff did try to accommodate with a free round but with kids who were falling a sleep on the table they were so tired we just needed to leave.
Sorry for the negativity and thanks for trying but yeah
Great Service, our group was well looked after. Food was good too. Thank you for a great evening
Great service and great food. We loved all the food and they made a special effort with a birthday cake that we bought along with us.
Mmm yummy food and #instagramworthy decor! BIG SHOUTOUT to a certain Mr. Liam… a great and mild mannered manager who was born to serve his fellows in hospitality! I will use the Southern Cross constellation to find my way back and return for more steak and chimichurri! Never ever will I pay full price for stonegrills when I can get em 2 for 1 on Mondays
