Spice Lounge reviews
39The food we've had so far is really nice. Staff are friendly. Ambiance is lovely. We're repeat customers - when we're in the area.
First and last time we’ll order from here. The mains were tasteless. Starters were okay at best. The balti bore no resemblance to any balti I’ve had, and the paneer was inedible.
Tried this place this evening with my wife. Perhaps we've been spoilt by other places, as we've only just moved to the area from Lower Hutt, but the food was mediocre at best. Definitely not authentic - for example, there was cheese on the chicken tikka? ! The two curries didn't have much flavour, certainly not tasting like the dishes are supposed to, and the spice kicked in as an aftertaste.
We had a great time at Spice Lounge! They have a variety of delicious options and are very welcoming and accommodating.
Under new management from the last time I went! Have to say I won't be going again any time soon. I had a lunchtime takeaway meal - and the curry had no 'crispness' to it, I couldn't find the salad - and the little piece of popadum was 'not up to standard'. A sad day for curries.
Food was so good and the service was really really good. I always like to order food from this place.this place know very well how to setisfy the customer highly recommend. ️
Good Range of Indian Meals to choose from.
Service with a smile.
That goes along way.
Acoustics a little loud when full.

Travelled from auckland and l was looking for a decent place to have lunch with the family. I walked in at the restaurant by looking at the ratings online and I would say i would say it was one of the authentic Indian food i had in recent years in New Zealand. Kadhai chicken and tandoori chicken was so close to what we get back home in India. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for the authentic Indian food in kapiti region
Very bland food. Never mind the curry which had no spice that I could taste but the rice didn't even have salt. Terrible service. Overly priced. And the beer was not up to the measurement charged. I'd never go back ever.
Amazing service, food is fantastic, that C4 Naan may be the best thing invented in the history of history. I'm absolutely over the moon Spice Lounge is open again for lunch too!
Haven't been here for a year as went down hill after owners left. Has new owners & MAN the food was Excellent. Was very tasty & good size portions. Atmosphere was very quiet as we were one of two couples in there, & no background music playing. All up, we will Definitely go back. Great food guys
Booked a table for 12 people for my partners birthday we also had two pregnant women and 2 young children we came in and the staff ignored us we stood there for 15 minutes trying to get there attention then gave up and just decided to sit down in what we assumed was our table it took them 45 minutes to ask us for drinks and the staff were all over the place missing drinks or getting them wrong or again ignoring us I then asked how long food would take as the pregnant ladies and my children were getting uncomfortable and hungry I was told another 15 minutes until we could even order by this time we had already been there for an hour and 15 I left as my kids were too hungry but I was told by my partner that the food took over an hour and again things were wrong or missing and the staff were all over the place.in summary was disgusting service and I hope no one has to go through this again
We tried chicken seekh kebab and the garlic chicken Tikka and in main we had butter chicken all of these was too good to eat me and my family enjoyed there lot whenever we took the food from there.staff is friendly and polite and service is always good
The Spice Lounge is such a great restaurant if your looking for full authentic Indian Food Went in yesterday with my cousins and the food was absolutely delicious, it felt like homemade and was tasty defs would come back again. ️️
So disappointed! We have been loyal customers for years, and was surprised to learn it is under new ownership. We ordered our usual dishes, and they were tasteless, bland, hardly any chicken at all, one had more than the other, arrived very lukewarm, and the Butter Chicken tastes like the tomato soup rubbish from the Mall food courts, hardly authentic! No Pommpadoms either! And massive price increases. Will not be going back!
Very very good customer service!
Nice clean and tidy restaurant, food is delicious every time! Lots of flavours good serving of meat/sauce, awesome that rice is complimentary again!
Love the new menu! Highly recommend for dine in or takeaway!
Nice atmosphere, front staff is really friendly busy night but the service was too good there is only 5star option otherwise I can have the 10 star…. Tandoori chicken is best in town will be back again
The food was nicely cooked, However very little meat and in the other dish only 6 SMALL prawns in lots of liquids
Came away hungry. A complete waste of money
Ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Bhuna lamb. Really not happy with the taste. Both look same and almost same taste. Same curry just added the Lamb in lamb bhuna and Chicken in Chicken tikka masala. Very disappointed ️
Got butter chicken and it dosen't come with rice! Which I didn't know and didn't say on there website, I live 30mins away so when I got home and saw it was just chicken I wasn't happy as it cost $61 and now I have to cook rice, and it wasn't nice so save your money and go else where
