I just want to say how amazing Arnaliese is!
First time my son has had a good experience with someone really caring and taking the time to make sure he felt at ease and knows what's going on etc.
Awesome with the kids and very thorough with information and following up.
Also receptionists are lovely

Dr. Kupenga diagnosed me in college with acid reflux, telling my father I was trying to get out of school. I later almost passed out from the pain of having gall stones and had to have emergency surgery.

A few years later my father went to her with worries about his health, in that he was struggling to breathe after walking down a flight of stairs. A man who worked 25 years with large cuts of meat lifting and moving them around with no issues.
She diagnosed him as, I kid you not, getting old. She said his issues were a byproduct of him getting older. Less than a year later he died of lung cancer.

Rating a 2/5 as the ladies at front desk were always nice, shame about my dead dad tho.

I am hoping to change my doctor soon i currently have dr kupenga and went to her last year after having covid with swelling in my left leg, she gave me antibiotics and sent me on my way. Afterward my leg was becoming more swollen and painful i then called healthline who then called an ambulance as i had a suspected blood clot. On getting a scan it was confirmed i had a superficial sizeable clot in my leg, dr kupenga still was hesistant to give me blood thinners! But reluctantly did when i said i wanted a second opinion.
Suprise suprise they worked gy the clot was gone.and on my 2nd visit to radiology clot was gone.

Another incident occured when i needed an iud removal/replacement at which she dropt something and then proceeded put it back in place a week later i had a kidney infection.

I am trying to change doctors at present but am having no luck.
Edidted to add.there is a lovely receptionist who works there who is amazing the other one not so much.

How is Dr kupanga still working here? ! Honestly the worst doctor of all time very negligent and needs to call it a day she obviously has no care for anyone's health as she misdiagnoses people and with hold information from scans she sweeps everything under the carpet and brushes you off.

Dr kupanga is a horrifically rude, uninformed doctor, she is not worth the time. She is less than unprofessional and doesn’t even know the medication well enough to give advice. She has no bedside manner: only deal with her if you wish to be treated extremely badly. Do not recommend. I’ve laid two complaints about her and it’s gone no where.

Dr Kuepenga
Is very negligent she has misdiagnosed a countless amount of people I know.
My sister went to her with concerns and now is possibly not able to have children dr KUepenga was fully made aware by another doctor that my sister needed more test because they had picked up abnormalities in her scan this was over 5 years ago my sister has since changed doctors and met the same nurse that was suggesting the extra scans recently she recognised my sister and asked why she had never come back! That is because dr kuepenga never made my sister aware of this request if no action is taken on this lady I will take this further until she is stripped of her authority over others people life’s it’s only a matter of time before she has more blood on her hands. Unacceptable! She’s only there for the $$ not for saving life’s she’s Also misdiagnosed my mum and a lot of others she’s caused two deaths that I’m aware of with other family’s in stokes valley how many more people will have to suffer at the hands of this so called doctor.

The receptionists, and the nurse here are fabulous, so it's such a shame the doctors are so terrible. Every interaction I had with the receptionists and nurse they were so warm, intelligent, empathetic, efficient.and kind.

Dr April was my doctor for over 2 years, in which time I went in multiple times for the same, recurring symptoms that were interfering with my day to day life. He kept concluding it was "emotional stress". I kept insisting something physically was wrong. I changed to Dr Kupenga. Same dismissive response. I gave up and went to another clinic, saw a competent doctor and had it diagnosed in ONE appointment, got the medicine I needed to heal it and am already feeling better. No, it wasn't stress. The difference in competence in my new doctor has been phenomenal, actually listens, actually examined me properly, never once took the easy way out and suggested "stress". Found the thing other doctors had missed for years.

Don't go here if you can avoid it, there are other doctors out there, even if you have to go on a waitlist it's worth waiting, than wasting your time and money here.

I had the displeasure of requesting a referral on behalf of my son to a surgeon here in the New Plymouth base hospital, due to a move of house. My son has a deviated septum and possible Sleep apnea. It was explained that we cannot find a GP here in NP.
Dr Jeffery declined the referral, said get a GP in NP or come and see me, it’s not that far.
I requested to speck on behalf of my son as he is vulnerable. I requested a call back.
Jeffery April did not call back, he called my son back, I got my son to give verbal consent as Jeffery was not going to speak to be.
It’s been many years since I have spoken to such an arrogant bully of a doctor.
He claimed to not know that New Plymouth was a 5 hour drive away, I asked if he had access to a map.
He said he wants to examine him before he writes a referral.
I advised he just needs to write the referral and the surgeon will decide if he will operate.
Jeffery yelled down the phone, repeatedly spoke over me, was rude, patronising and condescending.
I advised I am not above going to the medical board and going to my lawyer and all of a sudden he said I was threatening him.
Hi duty of care is appalling, he is a bully, my son is vulnerable and I am not surprised he did not return my call.
He said I will be lucky to get a referral from him, because I am demanding.
If a patient needs a referral for medical needs, to with hold that is unethical. To be belligerent and rude to the advocate of a patient and withhold basic care goes against the principles Jeffery April swore to uphold.
Disgusting person, absolute disaster of a GP

Really friendly staff and not overwhelmed. I think giving a medical centre one star based on one script not arriving or a delay at reception just advertises your mental age.

Are worst doctors ever.
They are insulting and rude Indians
