The Balti House reviews
32Such a great spot! Food is always so delicious and very well priced. Owners are always so lovely too, Balti House never disappoints!
Once again we had a delightful evening meal dine-in. The Balti specials are indeed special. This time I went with a three-generation family group and they all felt at home there.
10/10 meal! Best Indian I have had in YEARS. Incredible curries, breads, starters, and tandoori chicken! I will only come here! Best Indian in wellington by a mile. EVERY DISH WAS INCREDIBLE.
Staying at the ridges airport hotel found this Balti house just 10min walk away and it was perfect. Food was lovely. Fresh naans. Byo and nice service. Ideal.
Pretty good curries, not too Kiwi creamy. Butter chicken good with real garlic in it. Nice
Awesome! I walked inside feeling weary from the week and came out with a big smile. Further, more competitive than similar restaurants.
Great restaurant hidden away in Miramar.
The service is friendly and helpful.
The good is always top notch and great value. I've taken friends and family here and everyone has loved it. A great place to go and try something different each time.
Fabulous, fresh and wonderful traditional Balti. Proud of their Brum heritage and brilliant food. Love it.

Still amazing, still frequently dining here, and never disappointed. Brilliant food and service.
Great curry house close to the airport. Food was excellent, ordered a lamb saagwala and lamb vindaloo. Food was not too spicy, had great value portions. Naan came out hot and tender while also crunchy. Restaurant was small but clean and had a great atmosphere. Service was friendly and efficient. Will definitely come back again
I tried dinner with my friend in Balti House on last Wednesday. So there was no customer at the time entered but gradually people start coming for dine in. We ordered Mango Lassi, Butter Garlic naan and Kadai Paneer. Curry was delicious with rich species. Naan was really cooked perfectly, supper soft and crunchy hence Naan easily melted in mouth. Curry quantity was enough for two people with. Customer Service was superb.little bit expensive compare to on floor staff but may be because of current staff shortage across country. So recommended any one who wants to taste good food go on weekday so you can enjoy food without any disruption in service and people. Instrumental music in background is making positive vibes inside. Restaurant is small but superb. Keep it up guys!
Arrived around 6.30 pm as the first guests of the night. A bottle of Stoneleigh Pinot Gris was 400% more expensive than the supermarket! It is a BYO Wine only restaurant.
We ate the platter for 2. Was pretty stock standard. I ordered a garlic naan and a chicken garlic curry. There was no overwhelming sense of garlic in either. Being indian I hate it when an indian restaurant bulks out a curry with mashed pumpkin and potato then leaves only 3-4 pieces of meat. I want what I pay for! We also ordered a lamb biryani. That did have some flavour and was more edible.
Sadly the service was very slow. We watched the time - entree platter took 30 minutes to come and dinner was about the same. They seemed to be distracted by a small flood which had happened the first time in the seven years they'd been there.
Indian music was good and the restaurant decorated well. A shame to be let down by several other things. We won't go back.

In response to their reply - we took home 3-4 containers. Most of the biryani was eaten at the restaurant because it was the best of what was served. A week after we'd been, the food bought home was still n our fridge - no one had touched it and it was thrown out. Says a lot about their food.
I also didn't mention the plastic in one of the meals. When the owner saw it she dismissed it as from a container and no discount was offered.
Worst biriyani in town.just meat mixed with rice.
Biriyani comes with lot of watery gravy. Really disappointed. Not at all friendly customer service.
Worst biriyani ever had, biriyani served with fully watery gravy, meal tasted sour and smells bad, very bad customer service, not recommend at all.
Lacking favor
Spices low level (not chillies)
Was eatable tho
Being indain doesn't help.
We used to go here often years ago when they were located in the city and don’t even realise it was the same place. The balti curries are a dry curry with a really delicious blend of spices.
We loved our dishes and it was great to be back. Paneer was fresh and yum and makhani was one of the best in Wellington
Our go to Indian Restaurant. Eaten in many but this hands down is best. The décor not flash, small in size, and very simple. But all pales into insignificance when it comes to the food. Fully recommended.
Really delicious food and exceptional naans. It was nicely busy when we ate here, a good sign. Definitely coming back.
Awesome little restaurant which also delivers. Really nice food, awesome Naan bread. Would recommend
We called and ordered and they closed the restaurant. We were late due to traffic. They never bothered. They just said it's past closing time even though we ordered earlier than the closing time.
I'm sorry but didn't enjoy our take away at all. My partner and I fell sick straight after. Asked for medium hot ended up getting super hot with loaded black pepper floating in the curry. Wouldn't recommend sorry!
