Very delicious foods and staffs are friendly. We've been here at Traditional Thai more than 10 years and the foods are still the same. Very recommend

Service has really gone downhill, Group of 4ppl went in at 6pm, left at 8pm only had a starter and coke, had to go elsewhere as we were hungry.
It is very sad to see where this place is at now.

The food here is amazing but the service is really disappointing. Not shown to our table, not served for over 20mins, had to ask and then left alone until we decided to just pay and leave - went elsewhere for dessert!

Tasty food and a nice atmosphere. The staff are excellent as well. Make sure to specify the level of spiciness for an authentic flavor as the default is not spicy. The spice adds a lot to the dish in addition to just heat and is highly recommend.

Have really rated this Thai restaurant in the past, but we went here on Thursday night and there was a fly cooked into my food. Makes you really question the cleanliness of the kitchen.

The food was very good, our group of 5 all enjoyed there meal, the reason for the 3 star is only down to service we waited half an hour to be served after watching them serve multiple people who came in after us we asked a couple of times if we could be served and it took half an hour before finally being served for the food to take over an hour to come out and for them to forget one of our meals, and the last meal came out once everyone had finished eating, we asked for that meal to be waived off the bill and the lady pretty much got into a big argument. They did end up waiving that meal from the bill but the service was very poor i wouldn't dine in again but would probably order takeaway.

This place use to be our go to a few years back before we moved out of the area. But the quality seems to have slipped big time. Curry flavour seems to have changed completely and not for the better. Beef was fatty and tough like it hadn’t been cooked for long enough. It use to be super tender and almost fall apart. Sadly I think we will be looking for a new Thai takeaway.

Waited 30mins and still didn’t come over to take our order (or offer drinks) despite us going to the counter to ask to be served. I understand it’s busy but dine in customers should take priority. We left and got dinner elsewhere.

Normally this place is 10/10 for takeaways, but unsure what happened on the night of the 3/2.ordered a mild curry and yet there was no flavour of the curry whatsoever! Normally theres a bit of a wee kick, ie you at least can taste the curry flavour. Check on your chefs guys! Letting you down.

Tasty food and a nice atmosphere but the food was tailored to a kiwi customer base. This limits the menu options somewhat and if you want Thai food with a healthy amount of spiciness you should ask the staff.

I've been coming here for years and years. Always consistently good food. Tonight though, service not great, or particularly friendly but $4 per head corkage too steep. 1 byo bottle of wine. Group of 7 ladies, and we foolishly each had half a glass. They made $28 off us, but not really a win. Don't think we'll be returning.

Had my lunch here the other day and I have no complaints. I loved the food and the price was reasonable as well. Will go back.

Great Thai food and I have eaten here for many years (28 years). I recently tried its takeaway version which was also tasty but expensive compared to other Thai takaways in the region. Service is always of a high standard.

Delicious food and lovely staff. However, it did appear that takeaway orders were priortised, as it wasn't that busy within the restaurant and it took over an hour to get our meal.

We have dined here on 3 Occasions in the last 12 months the 1st time only had mains and enjoyed the food. The second time had entrees and mains and entrees were very average and mains were bland. We had Singapore guests last week and they saw the window claiming best Thai and we went in. Keep in mind we had just returned from Taupo having dined at Lotus Thai, renowned for beautiful food and amazing presentation and @Siam (street Thai) again amazing food. Back to Upper Hutt, It was raining and they were not yet very busy.
We ordered, and the entrees that arrived in good time, but not only looked packet to plate they were overcooked and horrible.
We canceled mains paid and left and went to Lower Hutt and had a very pleasant meal at Amazing Taste that did live up to its name.

We appreciate that every restaurant can have a bad night or dish but when you claim to be the Best Traditional Thai then you need to at least be consistent. We pass thru Taupo very regularly and have dined at Lotus Thai for 20 years. The food standards never change, presentation is always amazing and food is vibrant, fresh, beautiful flavours. Even they do not claim to be the best.

The food is delicious, priced well and generous in portion sizing. Would personally recommend the roti with satay, spring rolls, Pad Thai, green curry, and Tom Yum soup, although we are yet to try something we didn’t enjoy. However when dining in staff are always very busy, and not always polite, so expect delayed service, and when ordering take out, we also end up waiting longer than expected - but for their food we find the extended waits can be worth it if we have the time.

I've not been here for year as I have lived away from upper hutt for about 10 years. The Traditional Thai had not changed at all, still great fast service and amazing flavor filled dishes, service with a smile to add. Definitely coming back next time I'm in uppers? Anyone looking for great Thai, you found it here

One of our dishes was left out of our order and the restaurant went above and beyond to drop it off. We will definitely be back.

Delicious as usual love the Thai Green Curry and the satay. The place was full tonight but they were still timely with the takeaways. Favourite Thai in upper Hutt.
