Consistently terrible service. Which is a shame as cakes look amazing. Coffee is okay but very slow to come.

This is a mince pie from Urban. This would not even meet the legal 25% meat content required by law for a meat pie. It's really just a gravy pie.

Very average food at ridiculous prices. $7 for half a chicken roti wrap & all I could taste was the disgustingly SWEET mayo. Yuck

I have visited Urban Eatery a few times, although it's nothing great it is okay with good pricing.

However, with the most recent visit I was displeased with the service, staff and food. Staff member assumed that we were taking out, when we were sat at a table. When the food was ready instead of coming to the table she was yelling from the counter with our food in bags. When presented with the food in bags we mentioned that we were eating in, and was given a disgusting and unacceptable look from the waitress. No apology.

My sandwich was rock solid. Inedible. Almost a waste of my money. Not only was that bad, the staff were giving us looks while we ate, made us feel uncomfortable and unwanted. Nothing you ever want to experience in a cafe. Never again. Have never hated a cafe experience this bad in my lifetime.

Worse experience ever. Arrived at at a vacant table waiting for my my partner to arrive. Was then asked:/ bullied 4 minutes later to vacate by waitress who said other cust were ahead of me. Yet there was no notification on the table. Made to feel I was n the wrong so vacated to subway a across.the road. Thanks Subway u saved my romantic date

Milkshake was simply green milk, burger smelled like body odour, coffee overpriced and sub-average. Favourite place to flip off when driving past

Terrible service, this is the 2nd time the barrister has forgotten which coffee is dairy free and today she walked off when I told her I needed to know due to an allergy. She told me to just sniff them and work it out. Won't be going back

Ordered the savoury waffles and the works burger. Presentation was nice but the waffles were store bought, dry, burnt and too sweet. The cream was over whipped and bacon tasted like it had been sitting under a warmer for too long.
The burger patty also tasted store bought and basic. Fine for a quick bite from the cabinet food but wouldn’t bother ordering off the menu.

My girlfriend and I ordered the savoury and sweet versions of the waffles respectively. The fruit in the sweet version was unripe and the kiwi fruit was rock hard. All four of our waffles had chunks of sugar in them. Decent coffee but wouldn’t recommend the waffles.

Ordered an iced oat milk latte which should only be ice + espresso + oat milk. Instead I got some overly sweet thing blended with regular ice cream, so now I get to have an upset stomach the rest of the day. My friend ordered a chicken cranberry and brie sandwich, what he got was just seemingly a plain chicken mayo sandwich. Disappointing because the cabinet looks so lovely but your staff can't get simple orders right.

Ive been coming here since it opened beacuse the food is great! However, you need a better system for delivering the food to the CORRECT table. Also dont allow reserved tables. Ive been sitting here for 20mins and in coming customers are looking for a free table, not a good look. Thank you

Disappointing first visit. Had coffee and Laminton. Nice warm and welcoming place.
But! Coffee was undrinkable and Lamington from the previous week I’d say - was dry and crisp.

Let's talk about mayo. Why is urban eatery so obsessed with mayo? Every sandwich is 40% mayo. The chicken ciabatta has delicious bread but is mostly mayo and a thin slip of crumbed chicken. They have sliced the chicken in half to save money and it's so disappointing for an $8 sandwich.

The coffee is lovely and the donuts are good. To be honest I was just pleased they didn't smuggle mayo into the custard donut

I really wanna love Urban Eatery, I really do! Their cabinet food is all outstanding and of the highest quality. The coffee is good, probably the best in Tawa.

But!

I decided to branch out to the board menu today, in particular the chicken burger. Unfortunately this was a huge mistake.

Honestly, this burger for 19.50 is a bit of a disaster. Huge, dry, pan fried chicken breast that definitely should have been made dinner and brined to retain moisture. Gargantuan slices of tomato that by their very nature make it difficult to eat the burger. Lettuce was a bit excessive in quantity alongside the mayo/ranch.

Honestly it seemed like a quick and easy home style burger which is shame since I have come to love every single thing about their cabinet food.

However, the fries were very tasty, well cooked and seasoned with a great balance of crunch and fluffy potato. Awesome dipping sauce and plenty of it.

Quick service. Ciabatta was crispy and flavorful. Bacon and eggs were cooked perfectly. Sauce was a bit too tangy. Iced mocha was delicious.

The cake was to die for absolutely delicious but the place is small and very noisy as the floor is concrete.
Although they have high chairs it is not really child friendly more for adults and older children that can sit at a table with you

Really nice food, way too tempting to try a bunch of stuff, a little put off by the fact that there's a fair bit of food uncovered on top of the counter. Nice coffee.

Nice, but the space is so loud. Partly by design, partly by the fact that there's groups of loud people always lingering. Food and drink are good, but I go here as a second choice and don't like to stick around as it's not a place to relax.

Drove past today and decided to grab a pie on my way through. Purchased the steak and blue cheese pie for something a bit different. Definitely didnt disapoint. Huge pieces of steak and the blue cheese wasnt too over powering. Looked like they also had a great selection of cabinet food too. Had to quickly leave before I spent my fortnightly wages on all the delicious looking donuts in the cabinet

Service is a bit off to me. But food has a good taste and a range. Well priced. Can recommend.
