Waimea Restaurant

I’m really not one to give bad reviews, but this was hands down the worst restaurant experience I’ve had. After being sat at a table we had to get our own menus, we then waited 1 hour 45 mins for our food so that by the time it came out it was getting cold and dark. As you can imagine when the food did come we were starving only to find out they’d gotten our spice levels mixed up so instead of mine being mild it was so spicy I couldn’t eat it. When i told them about this and said I didn’t feel comfortable paying for something I couldn’t eat they agreed to take it off the bill but offered no apology and seemed angry with us. I don’t know if they’ve just opened or short on staff but it was a real shame as we can’t afford to eat out often and still ended up paying $70 without me even eating anything

Very disappointing experience. While the food was good, the service was poor. We finally received drinks mid way through our meal. One meal was not adequately heated through. The serving staff were young and thoroughly inexperienced.

Seriously $23 for a takeaway pad thai that was smaller than the size of a beer can, wouldn't rate and won't be back, completely feeling ripped off

Went last week with 5 friends. Customer Service non existent. One person didn't receive entree order! Ordered two bottles of wine. Glasses dumped at front of table, not in front of each guest! On both occassions wine left unopened and no glasses poured. $50 meal no service!

don't consider answer acceptable. Will NEVER return! Been to lots of cafes and restaurants, see all my reviews, never ever had such lousy service! Extremely disappointed as only Christmas function and certainly not cheap.

Terrible experience booked a table were put with a massive party of teenagers that was incredibly loud. Was told they were too busy to do anything about it as they had lost our booking. Badly run very disorganized possibly changed owners as not how we remembered it. Ruined our evening.

Overpriced especially for takeaway (never paid $28.50 for chicken fried rice before) and couldn't believe I was charged $11.50 for a roti which included an extra $5.00 for a small peanut satay sauce to go with my already overpriced roti - which would normally cost me $5.50 elsewhere and includes the sauce! First time trying Tuk Tuk (due to convenience of location on the night) and ordered over the phone which was my first mistake as they were busy, and so did not know what to expect but will not be back at those prices will stick to my yummy local in Raumati.

We ordered a bottle of French champagne that came out warm. When asked for a wine bucket, they said they were unsure if they had them. My partner asked for his meal to be hot, was hardly medium or mild.

Service was good, nice and friendly.

Food was average. Came out fast, tastes watery and soggy.

We were squished in upstairs.

Very ordinary. Very bland. Very expensive. Very disappointing.
We had three dishes. Chicken with cashew nuts, beef salad and fried rice. None had any flavor. This is what I would expect ordering Thai food from a Chinese takeaway.

Pretty average steak. And the mash had a strange artificial texture and taste. Staff friendly. Nice location and nice surroundings. Have been there for lunch and that was better. But dinner not worth it

Pizza joint that only sells pizzas when they feel like it? Got to be kidding me.coffee was nice.hot chocolate mediocre

Our meals were average in taste and lacked those interesting flavours. Meal size was a little on the small side and the prices were a little too expensive. The service was reasonable but our waiter was a hard to understand and forgot the drinks.

Had a takeaway curry meal with roti…roti wasn't very good.the Curry was actually really good but very little servings (inc small serving of rice) and expensive compared to other similar takeaways shops

Busy restaurant and fortunately not in a hurry.
Pleasant keen waitstaff and nice atmosphere.
Two of us had beef thai salads. Beef well overdone and not sliced very thinly. Salad pleasant.
One had the vegetarian stirfry but made the mistake of having it Thai chilli hot which unfortunately overpowered the dish.

AMAZING food. Absolutely delicious. However, the service was very average. Had to ask for more cutlery for the table, drink order was wrong, the waitress spilled half a plate of sauce on my dress (was very apologetic) but didn't provide more napkins or offer a discount. It was a disappointment as the food was so delicious. I probably would only ever order takeaway again.

Sat out in the garden. I had the wagu beef burger and it was scrumtious. Great staff are always friendly and helpful.

Enjoyable and peaceful atmosphere and unique food options. We took an overseas guest who, of course, ordered the fish and chips dinner, which suited him. The mains menu is limited to only 6 entries, and perhaps a bit high priced, but the quality is definitely there.

Not the Waimea of old! What happened to the pizza (used to be hand made not pre-brought cardboard bases) and the restaurant had a really nice menu.as our local place i miss the old Waimea!

Burgers were very very dry. Macaroni cheese was okay. Food came out quickly and staff were polite, a bit over formal. Priced well above what we all expected to pay for portion size and overall quality.

3 plus stars. Reason for that is because the service was a bit slow, the garlic bread had such a small amount of butter that we had had to ask for more. The meal? It was excellent.
