Current wait time 90 min to wait for doctor. And I’m here already 2 hours and some people that came before me already enter and I’m keep waiting. I do not recommend this place.

Terrible. The receptionists are very demeaning and lack empathy and understanding of the medical system. Avoid this medical clinic if you can. Very upset with how we’ve been treated. Luckily the nurses here are lovely and have empathy.

Rude and arrogant abrupt reception staff. Not nurturing and empathetic. Avoid this place at all costs - DO not give them your money, I'd rather wait at Wellington hospital ED for 10 hours than wait here again snd witness the most disgusting behavior from reception staff.

I went yesterday and it was perfect and da fine! Lovely receptionist, then the nurse was awesome and compassionate, and Dr Jane was sweet and cool! They really made me feel better:). NZ health is really struggling so I’m highly grateful when it works out so seamlessly. Courtenay Medical where I’m at, refuses any emergency appointments and simply says “go to Wellington Emergency hospital. ” You could be dying and Courtenay Medical would be like “see you in two weeks, and if you think you’re about to die please pay the up coming bill. ” So coming from a heartless place like Courtenay Medical to an Emergency where I’m treated with respect, kindness and professionalism kinda’ surprised me.

So happy I went. It’s a really busy place so it can depend on the day. But this day was super fine! Thanks:)

I visited this emergency medical centre this morning, while in Wellington for a weekend. We were greeted by very friendly and efficient staff. The wait was quite short (1.5 hours) on a Monday morning. I was very fortunate to have been able to see a doctor here after flight disruptions last night, delaying me to get to my doctor in Dunedin. Thank you again for your wonderful service.

I get incredibly anxious about going to the doctor, luckily it was a slow day today so I didn’t have to wait for ages to get seen. I was seen by Dr Cheyenne, she was very kind and made me feel super comfortable. I left feeling a lot better about my injury than when I went in, so thank you!

Hi came in with my wife on 1st September. We were refereed from the triage of the wellington hospital. We waited at the hospital for 1: 30 mins before we were sent here. My wife had a severe sprain in her lower back and just could not sit without being in pain

From the start we informed the old lady at the reception that my wife was in severe pain and could not sit. She (Noreen) told us go and sit else where or walk around away from the reception area. We waited another 1 hour for a nurse to see us then again, i asked the reception that my wife is in pain and can this be adressed, however we were told and i quote we are far from being called by a doctor at this point. We waited for 4 hours for a doc to see her in emergency where i advised them multiple times that she is in pain as he pain tolerance is low, my wife slept sitting on a chair in pain waiting for a doctor, that pathetic service at a health care organisation. At the end we left as she kept saying thay some emergency came up ahead of us

This place is run a like a maniac house where there is no emotion or empathy for the sick.

I will definitely email the health board about this and. A lot more of i could.

Been a in Nz for 7 years and this is the most hopeless i have felt

If I could give zero star, I would.
As a patient waiting for 4 hours (and still waiting), with a poking IUD in me, not hurting like hell but I can feel it every time I move (every nurses I've seen have been told and so far tell me I will have to wait longer for a doctor), shouldn't it be treated more seriously than 'the bottom level of pain'? I don't get the heatlh system however I get the doctors are over worked and it's busy, but shouldn't it be more clear how long the wait actually is? I'm so disappointed at this point I don't even know what else to say.

I went here because I saw on the website that there is free antivirus medicine for someone who have covid symptoms but don’t have prescription.

I just arrived in Wellington for a few days. So I didn't know the standard of giving medicine.

I went to ask the nurse at the front desk and the young nurse was nice but I didn't make it clear so she gave me a form to see the doctor.

After I filled out the form, I was greeted by an old lady with short hair. She asked me what visa I was on, and I told her it was a student visa. Then she told me I need to pay $250 fee. After saying this, I don't know which one of us had the ear problem, she kept telling me she couldn't hear what I was saying. She said I don't understand what your purpose is here. (Now I understand why there was a previous comment saying she doesn't like foreigners).

Then she called an elderly nurse to ask me, and I told her that I only had mild symptoms and wanted to know if I could get free medicines (because I had received free covid medicines when I was studying in Australia, plus The description on the website, I thought Wellington also had it). But the nurse kept asking me why I didn’t take the covid test, and didn’t listen to what I was saying. I didn't know until the end that I wasn't eligible for free medication. I was really confused.

When I was about to leave, the old nurse stopped me again and asked me why didn't I do a test here? I thought she was talking about the free self test box and I was taken to a room and waited for the nurse to come. Then the lady with the short hair seemed to think I was someone who wanted everything for free and didn't want to pay for it, come here tell me very loudly that the covid test will cost $120. She said "do you want to pay or not? "

There were a lot of people there and I really found that attitude very rude. Won’t be going there again.

Had an appointment with the travel doctor and they were very thorough and ran through each jab and whether I need it or not. Briar administered my jabs and was very good with my anxiety. She was very understanding and I’ve never had someone “handle” me as well as she did. Super expensive visit though

I wanted to share my experience to advocate that everyone follow their intuition and not rely on providers to always listen to you. I visited this center because I had the most painful headache for over a week along with other worsening symptoms. I knew it was something more severe than a sinus infection or migraine. The nurse and GP were very nice and kind. But in the end the GP thought it was a migraine and told me he wouldn’t do any tests. I think he specifically said he didn’t think it was meningitis. I called later in the evening because I had uncontrollable chills and I knew I needed to get testing. I asked if I could come back and get a referral for a LP because my GP appointment was a week away. The person who answered the phone was rude and condescending and told me nobody was going to refer me to get a LP and I had to wait for the GP appointment. I replied the first available was a week away and I’m in so much pain I really don’t want to wait a week. She raised her voice and just repeated that I had to wait for the GP and they won’t refer me for a LP there. I ended up going to the ED the next day and getting a LP, which confirmed it was meningitis. I don’t mind when providers miss things because they just didn’t consider something uncommon as a possibility. But what makes it so horrible is when people make you feel stupid and ridiculous for trying to advocate for yourself. I wouldn’t choose to use urgent care again.

From my last visit I was extremely impressed with the precautions they have taken to ensure to slow the spread of covid and other pathogens within both the waiting room and the clinic rooms. Perfect ventilation and air purification, seemingly well looked after cleanliness levels, the toilet could have used a sign above the loo to get people to put the lid down before flushing to help prevent pathogens spraying on doorknob, lock, toilet paper, and paper towels and the tap and basin. But that's an easy fix. Air purifiers in the hallways as well. Perfect. Now if every medical setting can aspire to this standard that would be great. Dentists, GP, the hospital, phlebotomists, midwives, etc etc. Keep us as the patients and the staff and crew safe!
This is the level that everyone in any and all buildings should be aiming for to keep it as a safe environment for the ongoing pandemic.

The only complaint I have here is that the doctor I saw should have been wearing an N95 or better. But otherwise. Great. Thank you.

One star down for the doctor not wearing an n95, and because the bathroom also needs cleaning items so that people can sanitize the seat before use because of how my monkeypox spreads (on toilet seats is possible through fomite transmission)
And of course the sign to get people to put their loo lid down to prevent the further spread of pathogens.

Will edit this if these things get fixed next I am in.

Thank you!

I had to wait because there were more urgent patients and a good triage system.

Even though I wasn't in much pain the doctor asked for an x-ray which found fractured proximal humerus. I am pleased they checked, helps the long term outcome thanks to everyone.

Sunday afternoon. You just got your wisdom teeth pulled out the day prior, you're in pain. The most pain you've ever felt.

That was me walking into this medical centre & seeing what seemed like thousands of people in there.

I checked in & got addressed by the nurse which informed me about the wait time.

I'm a recovering people pleaser so I without a hesitation said thank you that's totally fine & say back down.

Let me get one thing straight, I felt like everything within a 1 m radius of me was obstructed by pain.

I manage to pare my eyes on the wall trying to fixate on something else other than pain when I read specific signage that related to my situation.

From the sign to the receptionist I flick back-and-forth contemplating my next move, do listen to the sign, or am I wasting my time telling the receptionist.

But hold me down, they made me feel listened & heard, they did not give me no funny looks or even have the slightest mannerisms as if they were in any way disbelieving me.

Thank you.

Had a recent appointment with the Travel Clinic here. We were given a prompt appointment date. We had a very informative consultation, received helpful advice, and a prescription required for our trip. Thanks, we appreciate the great service.

As a foreigner who visited the AMC for urgent care, I have to say that I am impressed by the staffs. The doctor also amazing.

Nurse super nice. Dr thilo didn’t take concern serious and told me more about his life than about my concern. Nice where he travelled to and what he had seen but in the end I don’t care. I think if you are a professional doctor you don’t need to proof it trough lifestories. Safe your time and go somewhere else…

I visited AMC last Sunday - got there at 8am. I was most impressed by the Reception ladies, the Triage nurse and the Doctor. I was home within the hour. The Pharmacy next door was also extremely helpful. Thanks everyone.

It's a very busy time of year for all healthcare teams, nevertheless all of the staff were patient, kind and I received excellent care.
