Whitby Taj

I love Indian food & I eat it regularly.
I was recommend to try this place and grabbed a takeaway. I didn't realize how much it cost till I got to eat it, and thought $18 for a lunch special is too much. I wasn't impressed with the food that much either as it lacked much flavor and it was ment to be hot but it was rather mild. I'm sorry but I'm not keen to come here again. But on a positive note, the staff/ owners were very friendly and welcoming and the restaurant looked pretty good

One of our favourites. Enjoy the food, friendly staff and atmosphere. Highly recommend for locals anyone wanting to try something new.

These people exploit migrants. Under paying staff, demanding 1000s of dollar and staff works everyday open to close. Shame on you

Had Anarkali lamb and cheese and garlic naan - hubby had eggplant curry and kids had butter Chicken. Keep up the good work team whitby Taj. Will be back soon

Customer service was appalling. Cook had to tell waiter to serve us. When he took our orders he was so rude. Plates used to be warmed up not anymore just cold. No background music on.
So disappointed.
We will give it one more try and if continued with bad service we won't be going back

We eat here regularly and love it. The meals are consistently well cooked and delicious and we appreciate the very attentive & cheerful service.

Curries are not good. Chef added so much sugar in Paneer makhani. I never had such a sugary curry. Paneer Tikka Masala base was undercooked. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We visited Whitby Taj on New Year's eve 2022. Excellent, friendly service, and the food came very fast and well presented. I had a main, Mansoori Beef, garlic naan and rice. I ordered the beef kiwi hot, and the heat level was bang on. The curry was great, one of the best curry's I have in a long long long time. I highly recommend the Taj and this dish in particular. The bread was also excellent, and its great that the restaurant is BYO. All others in our group also really enjoyed their meals. I'll definitely be back. Next time I'll remember to take photo!

Lovely week night meal. Restaurant was quiet as midweek but not empty. Paneer tikka masala was lovely as was the chicken Kashmiri. Great service

Butter naan definitely needs improvement. My sister did takeaway and we were like what is this, did they make the wrong order but next time it was the same. Heavy, hard, half baked naan. Garlic naan was fine but butter naan was the worst i ever had like you eating dough.

Definetly improve ur food serving skills, order takeaway and trust me everybody is doing better than this resturant, u have have to do justice with indian food u serve, can’t serve what u serving

Amazing waiter, amazing service. And to top that with the food along with the amount of mints we were allowed really makes you enjoy it there. Definitely deserves five stars

Definitely need an automatic Indian chef. Who can cook basic Indian food. I tried many times here but, ever time felt terrible after eating. Not sure if they know the difference between mild and medium taste.

Sorry but not grat food focus is not on serving good indian food pkease improve … serve better,

I ORDERED MALAI KOFTA MEDIUM BUT MALAI KOFTA WAS TOO SWEET, seems like i ordered butter kofta also the tandoori roti’s were half cooked!

We were a table of 9 which included children.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Food was very good, arrived promptly and prices were reasonable.
Would recommend.

Food is OK, nothing to write home about. However, if you are with a boring date and have nothing to say to them, this is the ideal place as the music is loud enough to avoid any intelligent conversation.

We had an event at home. The Taj provided the food. Everyone loved it. We used our own containers. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very nice food, service ok, music a bit loud. Will definitely come back though, the goat curry special was 'devine!

Chicken vindaloo was lamb and barely spicy. Roti thick and dry. Onion bhajis dry and flavourless. Come on guys, up your game.
