Cereal Killa Cafe

I'd heard good things but was disappointed. The food was plain and overpriced. The famous milkshakes I had heard about were plain and overpriced. I could have made better at home. The atmosphere felt like a doctor's waiting room. The fridges were bare and there was no food in the display case. Overall, I would say it was the worst cafe experience I've ever had.

Came here for some lunch, ordered a chicken burger, eggs Bennie and shared one of their big shakes. Shake was okay, nothing special, tastes mostly of milk but has some fun toppings. Chicken burger flavour was okay but chicken was overcooked and dry. Speaking of overcooked, the egg Benedict was hard boiled and the hollandaise was too sour.

Atmosphere was quiet with no music or anything. Food menu is just hand written and stuck to the cabinet with incorrect pricings.

Will not go here again.

Right away something felt off when we walked in. No one else was in there and there was no music playing so we thought they were closed but they assured us they were still open. I ordered the eggs Benny and my partner got the chicken burger. The eggs Benny was overdone in every way - too much sauce, egg yolks were basically hard boiled, and the bread was hard to cut through. And there was just a large pile of raw spinach on the side of the plate. The chicken burger was underwhelming and dry; it also says on their menu at the till that it's $18 but they tried to charge us $21 for it. We also got a cookies and cream milkshake which just tasted like plain milk; it looks very pretty and the whipped cream & Oreo cookies were good but that's about it. Highly overated cafe unfortunately.

Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. For $22 smashed avocado I got a soggy rosti, a tiny bit of avocado (and I mean tiny. Perhaps 1/4 of an avocado) & a poached egg. It took me about 4 bites to finish it, it was very small. Was really overpriced in my opinion, plus there was no seasoning on any of the food. Even the chips had no salt. 2 of my family ordered a chicken burger & it was really hard to chew. They said it tasted like the chicken was old & recently reheated. Service seemed friendly though.

Big Mistake! Our recent visit to the cafe left much to be desired. The avocado toast, adorned with a surplus of onions, was disappointingly lacking in flavor and substance. The thin, barely toasted bread failed to justify the steep $22 price tag. Regrettably, my tea order was overlooked, and although I chose not to inquire about it, the lack of attention to detail was concerning. The atmosphere within the cafe was unwelcoming, with a noticeable lack of warmth or ambiance. Unfortunately, the overall experience felt overpriced for the subpar food quality and quantity, leaving us eager to leave rather than savor the moment.

Went off the good reviews and was suprised with how bad it was. Floor and tables were sticky, flies in the cafe. Ordered the waffles and was very dissapointed, looked nothing like the photo on the menu and more like something i would make at home. Mint choc shake had a funny taste.

If I could give a 0 I would. Cafe is dirty and tables are sticky. No music or atmosphere. These people are definitely new owners. Horrendous wait time and poor staffing. My husband purchased the Killa Bennie and let me tell you it could have killed him. The eggs were hard and on one small piece of bread with raw spinach on the side… that was it. I got the Crunchy nachos and it tasted like food poisoning. The mince was old and dry, the chips stale and I refused to eat it. The milkshake was a let down altogether. The staff do not wear gloves when making them which is a massive no no. A chocolate Primo from the dairy would have been better. Shocking cafe don’t eat here unless you want an upset stomach! In the end we left and went to a better cafe up the road further.

I wish i could leave zero stars because this place was just not it.social media hyped it up so much and i wanted to go try their huge shakes.honestly from the moment my boyfriend and i walked in it was horrible, there are just 3 staff who all have attitudes and very bad service skills (like they don’t know what they are doing) i am a waitress myself and i’ve never been somewhere where the service was this bad, they don’t clean the tables at all until you ask and she left the dirty cloth on our table and walked away, half of our table still had dirty milkshakes glasses and plates of food the entire time we were there.we ordered the cookies and cream shake and it did not taste like it should have at all, we ordered the waffle which took over 20 minutes to arrive and then she dropped it to the wrong table and it definitely didn’t look at all like the picture it was so plain which was so disappointing, for myself i ordered the big breakfast and i could not have been more disappointed and underwhelmed, with absolutely no taste and burnt mushrooms and i asked for poached eggs and they were so over cooked, the bread had no butter so i went up to the very disorganised front counter to ask for butter and they gave me fully MELTED butter in a tiny tiny plastic condiments container.everything was so bad please don’t waste your time and money like i did at this place, I also asked for a receipt and the lady literally said she was too busy making milkshakes to reprint a receipt for me.also a homeless woman walked into this cafe and asked table to table for money, everyone was appalled.

We went here for breakfast and almost immediately noticed something was off on arrival. A couple were sitting across from us looking disappointed at their meal and ended up leaving a plate of nachos untouched. Another group commented to them if their food was bad on their way out and that it must have changed owners. We decided to still give Cereal Killer a shot and ordered the big breakfast, beef burger, strawberry milkshake, unicorn shake with curly fries.

Overall the places looks run down, flies seem to be an issue and we received little in the way of service. Our food arrived within a reasonable time and the unicorn milk shake seemed to live up to expectations (with the exception of all the topping being stale) as did the curly fries. The other things ordered sadly did not with the burger burnt, the fries stones cold and the big breakfast while edible wasn't exactly hot, poached eggs were well overdone and the rosti was burnt.

We requested new fries which to the cafes credit they have been able to address but we got the feeling from the waiters attitude that this was a common occurrence and that they don't care.

Food came really quick, decent prices and sizes as well:) we also got a shake and a coffee, both were good

Cafe is amazing. No doubt, I was feeling comfortable, all services like greeting, hygiene and food are well prepared and served in time. My niece and nephew visited this cafe first time. They enjoyed lot with the games and shakes there. Both demand me to plan and arrange there birthday party in same Cafe. Great thank to owner and staff for such lovely food and environment. I give 10 out of 10.

This morning my daughter and I went into cereal killer cafe for the first time and it was an amazing experience! The staff were fantastic and the food was delicious I totally recommend the classic Benny's breaky (best I've had yet) and a yummy shakes for adults and kids?

Lovely presentation of the shakes! Cookies and cream shake lacked a little flavor in the actual shake. But everything else was amazing!

Awesome food and fancy shakes in the town, loved it and will come again, kids gone crazy … love from Kumeu

If I could give 10 stars I would. Best freakshake ever, it came out bigger than the photo and I could not stop smiling, I just felt so happy while eating it! I went on Saturday at 3: 30pm, the server was amazing and she made the whole experience even better. Will definitely be coming back soon!

We had an amazing time at cereal killer cafe. The shakes were delicious and so was the food. Definitely going back for the Angus burger and red velvet shake?

I had the waffles and a fruit milkshake which was delicious, however the big kiwi Brekky and the eggs Benny weren’t so great, things were lacking in flavour and weren’t very fresh.
They also had no idea what gluten free was, which is ok, but not ideal for people with celiac, it would be great to see gluten free options there in the future.

Way way way over priced for the meals. Eggs on a piece of sourdough bread with a few spinach leaves for $21!? Ordered a Classic Killa Bennie, which the menu mentioned with choice of either mushrooms, bacon or salmon but was delivered without, and told that it will be an add-on.
Won't come back ever.

Probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had. Went by the reviews which appeared to be very positive however was let down. Waited over half an hour for 2 burgers which wasn’t the issue - the issue was the burgers were stone cold. The lady said they would make new ones for us instead so I thought we’d give it another shot. In less than 5 minutes, she handed over the “new” burgers to us which were in fact the exact same burgers just heated up. When you pay a good amount of money for something that arrives cold and then you promise your customer you’ll make a “new one” but don’t follow through with your own promise, it just comes across as cunning in the end. I also ordered an orange and carrot juice but it had remnants of poorly blended apple/apple skin and who knows what else in it. Was hoping this place would be great considering the reviews but yeah nah. Not for me anyway.
