Comer Firewood

I had 3m hot mix dropped off today and I’m very happy with the quantity and dryness, best I’ve seen in the area so far. The fast, clear communication and delivery was great too. Will definitely be ordering from here again

3m3 of Hotmix arrived this afternoon. Fantastic, dry and ready to go. Thanks guys will definitely use again next year.

In March 2019 we ordered 3m3 of gum & 6m3 of hot mix thinking that we’d end up with a 50/50 mix of gum and softwood overall within the 9m2 order.
While the gum order was fine, the hot mix only had at best 10% gum, so overall we’ve ended up with 3.6m2 of gum out of 9m2 - well down on our expectations.
Additionally the blocks of wood were split very small and burnt very fast. Consequently our 9m2 load won’t last the winter and we’ve had to buy more from another company.
While on the plus side Come’s wood has very dry, overall it’s been a disappointing experience for a $1,335 order.

Stoked with the delivery, especially for late June. Great service and loved they delivered exactly when I’d asked for (Sat morning). Will definitely be using them in the future.

Received yesterday 2 cubic meters of beautifully dry 'hot mix'. I enjoyed the no-nonsense communication, the quick delivery, the friendliness of the delivery people and the quality of the fire wood. Winter can come. Thank you.

Three cubic meters delivered yesterday. All very dry. Not too much bark and debris. Great. I ordered the hot mix which is a mixture of pine, macrocarpa and gum - gum being the harder, slower burning wood. But at a generous estimate the gum made up less than 10% of the load, which is disappointing. I know because I loaded every piece into and out of the barrow and the difference in weight, if not the colour, makes it obvious which you have in your hand.
On the whole I'm reasonably happy - it's good dry firewood but given the significant difference at which soft and hard wood burns I think we'll be running low by the end of August.
In my experience buying firewood is a bit of a hit and miss process and wherever, and whenever, you buy it a "mix" comes in many different forms. Next year I will mix my own (as suggested by Comer post complaint.). Buy 1 cubic meter of gum and two of pine, and it will cost less than 3 cubic meters of hotmix I should have done the sums.

Been getting comers for years, the hotmix is always pretty good, recommend getting in early before the mad rush of mid-winter.

My parents, my nana and myself have ordered firewood from comer for years. Of course you will get some wet pieces but it soon drys once stored. It's great how they leave an invoice so we can do online banking as busy people we aren't always home to give cash. Very perplexed at negative reviews.

Wet wood arrived. To be fair, it was late in the season, but all advertisements and communications assured us it would be dry, had been undercover for three years. When it arrived, some logs were soaked, most too wet burn.

I fail to understand the negative reviews I have seen. I got prompt delivery of dry firewood expecting not to get this so late in the season. I also got very good advice on how to store the wood and when to order in future.

I’d highly recommend Comer Firewood. I’m not sure why there is so much negative feedback! I placed a call on Monday and our firewood was delivered on Thursday. We got 1 lot of Hot Mix and 1 lot of Gum and it was nice and dry. Thanks heaps and we’ll definitely be back for more!

I've used Comer happily for years - just mentioned this year that a (very) few pieces in my previous delivery had been too big to fit my firebox. Comer contacted me promptly, my feedback was well received and this years wood is all the right size and beautifully dry. I recommend Comer Firewood wholeheartedly.

Ordered 4 m3 but was disappointed by integrity, uniformity and dryness of wood so I posted a one star review. However Comer called me very quickly and they have offered to come a view the wood and replace the proportion that is substandard- so thanks for the acknowledgement and fair offer- We did have a very good delivery in our last order 3 years ago.

I have been using Comer Firewood for years and have been consistently happy with the quality of the wood they deliver. A bit bemused by the negative feedback to be honest - they have done well for me for ages.

Great service, great wood. I ordered gum and wattle this year and am more than happy how it was delivered. The pieces of wood are well split, good sized (!), clean and - as in the past - dry.
Good communication and over the top delivery: They called to suggest a better spot to drop the wood which I thought they couldn't reach with their truck - saved me heaps of time!
I recommend Comer Firewood and will buy there again next year.

Received wet wood, wouldn't burn. Sent it back and didn't get full refund. They want money not a happy customer. Very disappointed.

Poor-Fair does not adequately describe this company. We received soaking wet firewood that is completely unusable even though they advertise DRY firewood. We have been attempting to rectify this situation for 2 weeks and all we have received is extremely rude and unaccommodating customer service. We are resorting to returning the wood ourselves this week and wish to be refunded. Thoroughly dissappointed. Do not give these people your money.

Have been using Comer Firewood for years - really easy and pleasant to deal with and we have been really pleased with the quality of the firewood.

Was told the wood was well seasoned and dry but it was mostly wet and soaked through. Would not recommend.
