Du Val Group

I lived in one of the apartments, just over a year. Lakewood plaza Apartments. 2 bedroom apartment. Master bedroom and 2nd bedroom.the 2nd bedroom was quite small. Not much space. But was convenient for me at the time.
Not all apartments came with a car park. You had to park where you could.but it got to the point where there was no where to park. Some tenants had no choice but to park on the yellow lines. The restaurants around the apartments, if there wasn't any parking within the restaurant parking, they also took up the side car parking. Hence, why there was no where to park. Parking was ridiculous.
When you needed something done / fixed in your apartment, it took days to get any kind of response, wether it was by email / phone.
Their was never a follow up call, or email, unless you emailed 3 or 4 times, to just get a response.
I decided to move out. My lease ended, 30th September. I did everything that was required. And would get my bond refunded.it took almost a month to be refunded. The property manager, had not processed the paperwork for the bond correctly. Which delayed the refund. Once that was sorted, then to be told it would take 3-5 working days to be refunded. Making me wait another week. At this stage.its already been almost 3 weeks. As I, was not at fault / nor was it my error here, I was disappointed that this had no urgency on it, or any understanding from your end. Or took any responsibility for it. As its a lot of money, and also you were going to refund me less than what I had put down. That also delayed things. Got that sorted with the correct amount. After a phone call, and expressing how I felt, finally got my refund. I was relieved and finally was able to move on. Just disappointed on how things were handled and the outcome could have been way better. If the paperwork had been sent and processed correctly. Poor customer service, no people skills, and poor managment.

Awesome building to live in and the staff are great and easy to deal with, would definitely recommend to friends and family!

They just called me out of nowhere, and the guy just suddenly hang up the phone when I said I am not intersted.very rude.

Apartments are alright but the car park is just ridiculous. Can't park anywhere. Glad we are moving out. Had couple of friends and family who wanted to apply here, told them don't bother, you'll be parking at the mall and start walking to your apartment.

Parking or lack of is absolutely pathetic for residents who do not get allocated a car park. There is only 1 disabled car park for its numerous residents, when there should be 3. Repairs and maintenance has slow processing turnaround times. Most of the staff ie property and building managers are reasonable to deal with but one lady was rude and obnoxious IMHO even though I told her I live there.

I emailed the Du Val Group regarding a job vacancy and they NEVER got back to me, the least they could do was reply back out of courtesy or something I even called and left them a message still no response. Experience from Du Val was very poòr!

A group very supportive, efficient on repairs, notifications of happenings in my studio and premises also safe environment. As a tenant I would certainly put recommendations for accommodation for my whānau and friends of Du Val Group.

My Mum works here as a cleaner. New job this since last year. Seem OK, staff care about my mums outstanding job care. (my mum works for OCS cleaning Co. Manukau City. Auckland NZ

At first it was great renting a room in your Boarding House for the first year. I didn't even mind paying extra a week for a car park with no shelter or gate and paying wear and tear costs at my own expense. I also didn't mind the loud and abusive neighbours or their cars parked in the middle of the car park that they do not pay for or the neighbours extremely loud car and suffocating exhaust fumes that flow through my opened windows each day and night.

However, my primary concern is the ludicrous and massive increase in rent, excluding the weekly payment for the car park. I've asked my neighbours if their rent is increasing and they do not know.

The new property manager emailed saying; "Due to the nature of the rental market, and as a primary aspect of service to our investors, we conduct regular rental market assessments of all properties under our management. As a result of a recent rental assessment, it has been decided that an adjustment in your rent will take place".

Funny that, I checked the current market rent in my area and it's much less than the increase in my rent. I've also compared the increase in my rent to other Boarding Houses in my area and it doesn't match up.

I feel like I've being taken for a fool and will seek legal advice.

Pretty Epic and open staff, they tell you want you need to know and get through the information quickly so you know where you stand, or what you need to do to get where you want.
The best bit for me was their spreadsheet models of how to plan your life, you can tell everyone of the Du Val staff have your best interests at heart and there is somewhat of a motto/ethos in there to help as many people achieve financial freedom through planning and property.

When looking in to buying a property for investment we didn't really know where to start. Du Val staff have been exceptional with their advice and service and made the whole process so easy.
