El Humero reviews
57The staff gave us a talk about the name of dish and what to have with for El Humero Experience. They are super kind and quite pleasant and exotic experience for us.
It was my third time here and I loved it just like the previous ones. The food was amazing, but it did have a longer wait than last time. I had the chicken and it was just perfect. It was juicy and well seasoned. The staff was friendly and polite. I would recommend calling to make a booking because he space is a bit small and it's always full
Great food. Steak was delicious and comes with sauce, salad and side - which compared to what other places charge for a steak just by itself is not bad
Went on a Thursday night. Maybe it was an off night for them but I was not impressed by the quality of the food (really average fried starters. Mains were better but did not combine well). Great idea not excited well
The flavour from the beef cooked over the wood fire is unbelievable! Warm, welcome, authentic, unpretentious and delicious. Highly recommended. The T-bone and the Beef Ribs were incredible, I can only imagine what the Tomahawk must taste like!
The place is so popular make sure you book prior. The portion is huge so make sure you have empty stomach for the beef rib!
You should definitely go here. Try the ribs. You might enjoy the rest of the menu, I sure have, but the ribs are next level divine!
Small and cozy place with delicious food. Better to get a reservation, as you can wait 40+ minutes to get an walk in table.
Genuinely the best restaurant I have experienced in Auckland. The staffing is solid, even when its at its busiest there are enough staff. If you enjoy your meats, its pure. To the dude who said it was to expensive in the review below; its 30 bucks for a steak, maybe you should go back to the food court.
Such incredible food. We went with a table of 5. Everyone loved their meals.
Highly recommend this place.
Best slow cooking beef ribs ever! So yamm! So good! Served with garnish (to choose) and vegetable salad️
Muchas gracias hermanos y hermanas, todo muy bueno, muy rico! The food is outstanding and the price is reasonable, you get what you pay; and it is so, so good, I'm already planning my next visit. Got a table on a saturday without a booking, after 1 hour wait. Absolutely normal as they are usually fully booked, specially at 7pm on a saturday. I have to admit it wasnt the best table but lets just remember they accomodated us on a very busy night. The food is superb. The sizes are fair and the price is also fair for what you get. However, the flavours are outstanding. There is only one place in Auckland that is comparable to theirs, but still very unique Colombian style bbq. Next time Im going to book in advanced so I dont miss a chance of getting another delicious meal at El Humero. Saludos
Great food, the casquitos de papa and chorizo were delicious. We sat in the main area where we could watch the chef doing the BBQ which I loved. Will definitely be returning.
Great place to eat! I have been wanting to try this place for ages and it did not disappoint! There were 3 of us and we had the aged sirloin, el humero pork and the Ribs. All 3 were beautiful! The sauces were freshly made and vibrant. Staff were friendly and efficient. Drinks and meals were served fast. Overall it was an awesome experience and there were plenty more dishes left on the menu to try next time. Do not try and walk in on a saturday night though-you have to book, cos the place was packed out, which made the atmosphere awesome!
Finally got to try this place after hearing good things about it. We had the chorizo with arepas starters and then the 900g tomahawk steak between 2 people. The chorizo had very good spices and flavour, but I am not a big fan of the arepas. The tomahawk steak took awhile to cook, which makes sense as it is very thick. But it finally came, it was so good, nicely charred and juicy in the centre. Plenty if meat for 2. The sweet plantains was good, not a big fan of the salad though. Overall it is very good and will probably come again.
If you are going to eat, and want to leave feeling fed and happy. El Humero is the place. Take friends and have the experience.
Perfectly cooked woodfire BBQ every time, great sides as well. Simple but delicious.
Only suggested improvement - please add lamb to the menu.
Quality chops off the charcoal/woodfire grill. Place is cozy and baby-friendly. Definitely will come back and try their tomahawks.
Chicken was dry definitely not the amount of grams what was on the menu my partners steak was stringy free side salad was just 2 leafs of lettuce with 1 cherry tomato
The food here's absolutely amazing! Forgot to take more photos of the main. The pork belly and ribs were so delicious cooked to perfection, the service was excellent too. The side dishes were also tasty and freshly made. Would highly recommend El Humero if you haven't tried it out yet
