Envirowaste Pikes Point Transfer Station reviews
35This place used to be my "favourite dump" in Auckland but when I visited on Sunday in place of a dump it turned into a circus! An enormous queue of traffic out the drive onto the road. People coming out said they also queued out. Apparanty the kiosk at the weighbridge was removed and the in/out reduced to one lane creating a hectic bottleneck and major delay. I ended up going to Lincoln Rd whcoh was a 20min drive but ended up costing only $8 for the boot of my SUV. @envirowaste you need to sort out the traffic shambles please
Took half a trailer load of general rubbish. None of it particularly heavy. A lot of loose paper and cardboard, some general household stuff that was broken like shoes, photo frames etc, some stools. A small plastic tv unit, and a beer fridge.
The system for a start is flawed. Why wait until everything is unloaded to then say the charge? Adter unloading, we were told we had 800kgs worth! Which was completely false!
We asked them to look at the CCTV to see how much we dropped off so they could see it was not 800mgs worth! The lady was rude and refused to listen. So we were charged $220. Absolutely disgusting.
I believe now looking back that they intentionally ripped us off because they thought we were flooding victims as when queried on the bill we were told it was all wet that's why.
Firstly everything came from inside our home so was put in the trailer dry. There was mild showers on the way but only enough to have it slightly damp. Most of the stuff was in bags and half of it would not of retained any water such as the stools.
We queried whether or not we had somehow incurred the person before us bill as he had a trailer full of wet carpet which was clearly soaked. But we were told thehscales din't lie and they wouldn't make that mistake.
I will never use this service again and will advise the company I work for not to use it and others I know.
East Tamaki is way more reasonable and are much more polite. I feel bad for all those you probably scammed because of flooding. Charging more then double before the government announced free services. Shameful.
X3 loads flood damage furniture, staff lovely 2 deal with, grateful council say ok as it was stinking.paid for the first x2 loads of slurry already earlier this week
Turned up at Pikes Point today (Sunday 19th Feb) at 3.30pm. They are supposed to close at 4pm but the gates were shut and they were turning people away. Spoke to the guy at the gate and he said "there was a big queue so we decided to close early".
There was no queue at that time but they we were still turning people away. Clearly they were more interested in making sure they could leave at 4pm than maintaining their levels of service.
Hours would be better advertised as "we will be open if we feel like it" or "hire a trailer for $45 and see if you are lucky.do you feel lucky, punk? ".
Completely dissatisfied and would not recommend. Ever.
The opening hours on website and sign at the pikes point refuse station said 5pm closing. Got there at 3.30pm to find the manager telling heaps of angry customers that they had decided to close early at 2pm without advising customers. He told everyone to leave and just laughed at their complaints. Shameful.
Weighed my rubbish by holding it whilst standing on our bathroom scale before going, and it totalled 15Kg. Their 'calibrated scales' said my van lost 40Kg during the 5 minutes spent there. Unbelievable.
I rented a trailer, filled it with items to dump drove 14km to This business, to find it closed. The time on the board at the gate as well as on the website said it would be open until 4pm, but at 2.30 it was closed. This was expensive and frustrating on new year's eve.
Love going to the dump, always something going on that's interesting. Been coming here for 60 years firstly with my dad and now for me its the go to place to dump green or general rubbish.
Look the people are friendly, you're directed where to go. Operates safely, with large machinery so you need to do as you're told. Really my only issue is the price, its expensive.
Very poor Company to deal with. Signed us up on a weekly pickup but fir the first 3 weeks…. No pickup. Decided to terminate the contract due to defaults of contract and they took out a direct debit of $37 the next day. 2 days after contract was cancelled. Contacted the bank who confirmed there was no direct debit with this Company. Fraud comes to mind. They said they would collect the bin on such and such a date. No. We will be keeping it until they refund the funds they fraudulently obtained. What a crock business taking on more customers that they can’t deliver their product to.
Been coming here to dump waste for I dont know how long, but always been able to have a laugh with the staff, always professional, and always a happy face, stay safe guys, looking forward to my next visit
Been coming here since I was a boy. Good prices for green and other types of waste. Worth a look on their site.
Very poor customer service at the front check in counter. Mr. Kumar is such a rude guy he doesn’t how to talk to the customers. He abused me aswell when i asked him the charges and i decided not to tip. Very Bad Experience.
Great place to bring your rubbish. Easy to find and very clear signs all over the place to help first timers. Friendly and helpful staff and never really busy on a Sunday afternoon when I bring my rubbish and junk down every 2-3 weeks. Definitely recommend.
Its great to have somewhere close to home to dispose of general rubbish and garden waste atca reasonable price.
Not sure what people giving bad reviews are expecting. It's a dump, it's a bit dirty and it smells. I went there at 11am on a Monday and no queues, staff were helpful. I thought it was good value for money compared to a skip. Just don't go with a small load as there are minimum charges. Pack your boot, trailer or van to the brim.
Very slow, only 5 cars before ours, but very long wait. Charge a little bit more than others. Location is quite central.
Excellent facility and super easy to take a big dump Cheap, efficient, and convenient. Friendly staff and pay upon exits based on weight. Would use again to dispose of all general waste and green rubbish too!
Always nice and helpful staff. A bit more expensive but not a lot and never too much fuss. And easier from central Auckland that the other tips
Rang Pikes Point this morning to check that it was receiving rubbish in Lockdown 3. Drove across town (35mins) arrived at 3.10 only to be stopped at the gate as they were shutting early at 3pm. The chap apologised that they hadn't update their website or informed me when I rang. Very dissappointed with their customer service. Wish I could go somewhere else!
