With regards to Flick Anticimex's fumigation of parcels coming into New Zealand: Slow, slow, slow. I have been waiting on one parcel since October, that I ordered specifically to be here and ready in time for Christmas retail. It is now Christmas Eve and still no sign of the thing. I have phoned Flick many times to chase up this parcel and find out about progress, and the answer is always 'hopefully next week'. Today I asked about the reason for the delays - I was told the technicians try to get to the parcels 'as soon as they're on the premises'. The poor girl on the end of the phone had nothing she could say to me when I pointed out that this particular parcel had fumigation services paid for two months ago, and has been on the premises at Flick for a month. I really feel genuine sorrow that she has to be the buffer between some dodgy practices at Flick and all the customers that have no choice but to engage their services (because they have a fumigation contract with MPI, and the other company that has a contract to offer services is not yet fully set up with all the treatment options). The latest is that I should have my parcel 'on Friday', which past experience with Flick tells me could mean just about anything, but probably not Friday.

UPDATE: After posting this review the company's 'General Manager' phoned me and basically told me it was all the mail center's fault. A pity he didn't take into account that I had been ringing Flick for updates fairly regularly and had been consistently fed information that went directly against nearly everything he told me. It seems that the number one directive at Flick is 'lie to the customer'. Fortunately Flick no longer seems to be involved in fumigation for inbound international parcels, what a relief.

Edit: The online response to this review was punctual and an email was sent immediately as requested with a specific example, however a response to that email has still not been received.

With respect to Flick's MPI service on items imported form overseas I have not had very good experiences. They are very reassuring over the phone and like to tell you that they have your package and they will send it to you tomorrow. "Tomorrow" is sometimes up to 3 months away and requires multiple phone calls which are often "accidentally" dropped when you are transferred or diverted to voicemail. Sometimes it turns out that even though they've told you they will send your package tomorrow, it is still sitting in customs and they haven't picked it up yet let alone began fumigating.
