Lightforce installed an 18 solar panel and battery system at our home in February 2023. Lightforce were very easy to deal with, good communication, did everything when they said they would, in fact installation was ahead of schedule. The installation team of Jamie and crew performed a neat and aesthetically pleasing install, patiently answering all my layman's questions.
A couple of weeks after the install we lost grid power due to Auckland's storms. Grid power was on and off for a week or so, having the battery literarily kept the lights on.

We've had problems from the get go and promises of responding but emails and phone calls later, we are still left hanging. We regret ever installing it to be honest.our power bill multiplied for months because of the incorrect set up and they promised compensation but months later, we are still waiting. Our battery won't charge and apparently it's because the voltage to our house is too high which the lines company are supposedly going to be correcting. Whether this happens and whether this fixes the problem, time will tell but the lack of communication, the unfulfilled promises and the low level of care once payment was made is beyond disappointing.

Disappointing in that little in the initial sales pitch turned out to be true. Aspects of the installation were so sub-standard that different installers had to come out to rectify by reinstalling. We were led to believe during the sales pitch that Lightforce had a Grid power supply offer for Lightforce Solar owners, but found out after we had signed up that this was 'not in our area' (which wasn't disclosed prior). We were also told that Lightforce would be constantly 'monitoring' our system and feeding back over time to ensure our system was fully optimised - again, after 6 months we have heard nothing from them. The operating system itself, the accompanying mobile apps, and operating procedures for it are complicated and very little help, onboarding, or instruction was offered (we still have no idea if we our system is operating optimally or not?). Lightforce claim to be a premium service (and charge that way), but the actual delivery and customer experience has fallen a long way short. Hence it would be very difficult to recommend them to others.

I would put "no stars" if I had that option. Nightmare from beginning to this day 2 years later. Turns out Lightforce bought OBSOLETE units, charged me top dollar for system and then installed in my home. I had no idea they were crooks. Their crew made several holes in my gib doing below standard installation-rookies-Cowboy job. Unprofessional installation. Unprofessional electricians who installed units by apprentices. Every employee that installed my system has left the company I have been told by them when I ask for employee.and I think it was a wise move on their part. I have had fault after fault.crew left my power box bulging out and an open area at bottom of panel where my grandkids could have gotten electrocuted. Crew also broke my panel doors forcing it to close when it wouldn't and it would not stay shut so I had to buy a whole new panel to fix the mess they left. When I complained about workmanship new guy put up replacement panel that cost me over $100. They should have upgraded to bigger box if they needed it! Another rookie error. They removed equipment that I paid for and said it will work better.it never has. Forever breaking down.last time I called in Dec 9th, 2022 as battery and micro inverters quit working. Their engineers could not fix either after a week and said they would have to come out once again and replace microinverters. They could not get broken unit that is obsolete GivEnergy box, for a month and unit they took down smelt heavily of electrical burn.obsolete unit was faulting already as its junk.its only been 2 years and I am already having service issues once again, over and over and over! I want Lightforce to be honest with me. They need to come here and pull out all their equipment to make me whole again and give back the wasted, over $20k I spent on this obsolete product. I have never gotten the savings on power I was promised by Dan Anderson, their salesman.he is a talker alright. I constantly have to buy from the grid! This is my goal. RETURN ME to before I ever met this company.patch my gib walls so they look like before I met your company.and an apology from CEO is in order. I am so angry. I have all correspondence and pictures! Even the inspector they sent here was a joke.he stuck plaques over the holes they made in gib and never opened or looked at wiring, but passed my system. He should have seen and failed panel with open area to 240v wiring! I could go on and on! Lightforce is a nightmare! All the plaques you see stuck on gib are to cover holes.their inspector put them up and they have nothing to do with my system! How professional is this Dan Anderson and CEO?

I'm happy to recommend Lightforce. Andy organised my quote and was a real professional answering all my questions - quickly and thoroughly. Installer John was friendly and helpful. While it took longer than any of us hoped to have the system certified, communication was good and I knew what was happening. Now the system is up and running it has exceeded my expectations - my power costs have plummeted, albeit this is the height of summer. The system is doing what was promised and I'm enjoying the savings.

At all stages of the quoting process and the installation it was great to be dealing with a crew of competent people. Very happy with the result. I would recommend Lightforce to anyone.

From initial enquiry through to installation, the experience was easy and stress free. Prompt and useful communication given. Product selection to site installation and testing was expertly given and within an acceptable 3 month timeframe. System is already offering postive benefit despite the recent bad weather or low sunshine hours. Thank you, team Lightforce

Dan from Lightforce prepared an excellent presentation - showing the system plan (how the panels would fit on the roof), the expected kW output (across the months of the year), and the projected cost savings. Our meeting was conducted via a video link and he seemed to think of everything.

Very impressive preparation and commitment to ensuring a great outcome for the customer. I recommend Lightforce highly, for both people who know what they want (as I thought I did), but also for people who need to learn how it works

I wish I could go back in time and use a different company. Everything was good about this company until it wasn’t. The worst communication from any company I have dealt with. If you chose to use this company they will be quick to take your money but the communication will stop if you have any problems. I can’t complain about their customer service as it doesn’t exist. A wasted $25K. I’m gutted.

Usless. Emailed and rang to sort a price and one ever got back to me.
If you can not sort a quote out then how can you offer after sales service.
I'll use someone else.

Having a solar system is great. Certainly in the summer but also during sunny days in the winder I notice the huge amount of power I can generate myself. I also use the energizer battery. Only issue with that is that the software/app showing some of the detail (power generated, power from grid, etc) isn't great and provides no options to undertake some analyses.

Had teething problems which were very frustrating. Calling Lightforce through call centers and waiting for a call back leaves one feeling vulnerable especially if the solar system goes down and takes all of your power with it. Callum at the lightforce call centre was great, apologetic and didnt make excuses. Here's hoping.

The Christchurch team are great -Andy the salesman, all the installment team- who our dog loved as well and admin staff. All so helpful, polite and positive. They took time to explain everything. They arrived on time and worked through in horrible weather. I would thoroughly recommend them.

Light force solar has been a nightmare to deal with purchase was a 9kw with 16.8kwh storage at a cost of 33k

1) upon set up of systems it stopped working 1 hour after they had left. Had small children we had to stay at families until it was fixed. Then realized out freezer had thawed out it was fixed following day late evening.

2) they messed up the size of my roof and could only fir 80% of the panels quoted. Leaving me with a smaller system than and quoted.

3) it took 6 months after the installation to get the batteries running properly

4) the technician from light force locked me out of my system and threatened to turn it off because I hadn't payed. Due to the 6 month wait for the batteries. Found out they stopped supplying givenergy hardware a month after I deposited to purchase the system with no warning of the change coming soon.
Appears that I received old stock for my package.

5) one of my batteries will not charge above 30% which iv brought up to them 2 weeks ago with nothing but a automated email reply, after the second phone call reporting the the problem.

Personally Light force solar have been completely unapproachable and reluctant to help in any way. If I could I'd 100% use someone else to install my solar package.

Perhaps this review will prompt a response as this is what it's come too.

Further to owners comments, the system cut my power off and the battery was flashing red, there was no calibration running the system plain and simply stopped working and had to wait 24hrs with no power.

I was told by their technician I could set when my battery discharge times so I did. I changed my wifi password as another light force technician stated he would turn my system off due to me changing the batterydischarge times he had already locked me out of the monitoring system so was a high probability light force would stop my system from working, there was no issues with been monitored with monitoring the system until I was threatened it was going be shut down remotely.

Seems to be alot of blaming going on due to light force lack of due diligence.

Regardless the system is still not storing power in one battery. With no remedy proposed from light force. They calibrate it seems and it works and gradually decreases storage percentage until it reaches zero. No communication still to date with the current issue! Iv even proposed to upgrade the storage system as I'm wishing for more storage capacity and I'm happy to pay for Lightforce services for the upgrade less the current faulty battery price.
