Solar Chem Roofing (SCR)

Solar Chem Roofing (SCR) recently completed the Moss & Lichen Treatment at my Dad's place (which is part of their maintenance program after the roof was painted a few years ago). We are really pleased with the service & results. The roof still looks as good as new. Highly recommend Solar Chem Roofing.

SCR came recommended by a contact in the roofing industry and they repaired our roof in good time, including sourcing extra tiles to replace exiting broken and cracked units. The job was finished with a recoating of the tiles. At all times we were updated with progress. Happy to recommend SCR.

Solar Chem Roofing did the roof repair work at one of my rental properties and I was extremely happy with the service they provided.

Solar Chem roofing is my roofer of choice (I have used them west and south auckland) as the work is undertaken with consideration for our tenants. Communication is great and the pricing is very competitive as we have reviewed other providers. Roofing companies can be inconsistent in their availability due to demand but SCR always get the job done and we have never had issues with the quality of the workmanship - thank you team!

SCR inspected my leaking tile roof and identified that the tiles were in need of maintenance (30 year old roof) and repair. I decided to have the roof re-coated and this was done in a timely fashion and I was delighted at the finished result.
SCR was prompt at responding to my initial query and also kept me up to date with progress as there were some delays as would be expected due to winter weather conditions.
Would highly recommend their services.

This company did a restoration of my tile roof. They were very prompt, polite workmen, and, I was totally satisfied with the job.

Probably best avoided. We asked for a quote to fix a small leak and they quoted $560 to replace screws and fix the leak. They did the work to replace the screws, but this has not stopped the leak. Further emails and phone calls have been completely ignored. I would advise selecting a different company if you can.

After the deposit they ignored you. Just sent few contractors who kept complaining the boss instead of doing the jobs.

So disappointed.

PRO's:
- Hap, this guy is an absolute legend and I wish all our dealings with this company were solely with him. His attitude and ability to get things done quickly was amazing and his knowledge was fantastic. If it were based on him alone, 5 stars. This company owes him alot - thank you hap for what you did for us.

- Now that the roof is finished, the result is great. To be fair the team did do a lovely job at a time of year that I know is very busy.

However.there were cons.

CON's.
- unfortunately as others have mentioned our dealings with 'steve' were less than ideal. He was rude, dishonest and dismissive. Steve, maybe take a few notes from Hap about customer service. It will get your business further.

- Just a month prior to having our roof re done we paid alot of money for new gutters. However, the boys placed their ladders up against our gutter and scratched them up quite badly. When this was brought up with steve, he put down his staff and told us 'it's the nature of what we do'. He proceeded to say that it was not the ladders, but instead the hoses. Which was absolutly false. The next day, the young lads using ladders all had a barrier between the gutter and ladder and what do you know, no more scratched off paint. Credit were it's due, they did later rectify this with patch up job. We appreciated this. In future tho, own the mistake rather than lie your way around it.

Overall, the team did a good job. Hence the 4 stars. If you can get away with not communicating with steve then your set to have a good experience.

Terrible service. Very poor communication. Delayed in getting back to you. Rude and unacceptable behaviour. Feel aggressive. Wouldn't use at all

I had a leaky roof as they left a tile out of place or unsecured. Even a polite request to investigate why this happened was answered rudely. They virtually said get lost and we don't care if you were our customer for many years. Appalling attitude of Rob the manager.

Apparently good quality of initial roof recoating and repair but painfully slow response to any leaks thereafter, (including one I suspect was precipitated by their own moss control guy)
