Soljans Estate Winery

A small group of friends booked a table at the Bistro for a Sunday Lunch and get-together. The booking was for an entree, a main meal and a dessert. Following the order, the main meal came first after a longish period of time and the "entree", which turned out to be bread and dip, arrived during the eating of the main meal. Not the service I would expect from a well-known restaurant. Not a venue I would recommend.

Passed down to the third generation of the family, this well-known winery located in West Auckland offers a variety of white and red wines! The meals are not bad either! Thumbs up!

Went to Soljans for the champagne breakfast (October 2023 promotion). The food was absolutely delicious, thoroughly recommend it.

I went to Soljans for their October champagne brunch special. Damn, was that some good food and drink! I had the French toast which was a lovely mix of sweet, tangy and savory flavors. Best French toast I have had in a long time! My wife had the eggs Benedict and had a similar level of enjoyment! I would highly recommend a trip out there but beware, you might also end up buying some great wine from their vineyard shop.

Absolutely deserving of the 5 stars! On arrival, we were greeted warmly and shown to a table with a beautiful view of the vineyard and vines.

Our entire meal was delicious, but the real standouts were the Gnocchi and the Ćevapčići. We also loved the Trio of wines - with the best Chardonnay I've tried!

We will be back!

Kudos to the chef as foods were all great but plenty of room for improvement on customer service. We did not feel that we were greeted with warmth welcome and when actual turn up is slightly different from booking, reception shown a tight face as we might have upset her table setting. When taking order, the lady ignore other diners' voice and focus only on 1 diner. The rest of us felt like a transparent glass. When we chat and laugh a bit loudly, we saw service personnel gathered and discussed about us even pointing fingers at us which seemed like a rude manners to diners. If not for the vineyard scenery we would not go there and will not go again as there are plenty other great vineyard dining that is as good if not better for me to bring future guests for pleasant visit & dine experience. Also, dining tables and chairs appear too casual contrast to the environment, it makes us feel like dining at a canteen not a wine and dine restaurant type of setting. Business needs to learn that without customer, business is nothing.

Service & food were hit n miss. Fish of the day was dry; parts of the duck were rubbery however, cauliflower steak was great. But please tell the cook to learn to cook brussel sprouts properly! Would we go back.nope.

Came on the weekend with some friends and had a fabulous time! We were treated to some delicious food (absolutely loved the Vintners Platter, Gnocchi and the beef cheek) and of course, lots of the fusion sparkling rose was had!

Also really loved the Gewürztraminer and bought some lovely Port for my mum (she really loved this the last time we came!). Really awesome chatting to the staff when looking at the variety of wines as well - so helpful! Thanks Soljans for a great time! Can't beat a good meal with some fab wine out in a lovely setting!

Great experience. All wined tasted great! Of all, I like the Soljans people the most - friendly, funny, and very family oriented!

Wow this place looks amazing. When we were there this landscaping crew were doing the gardens and they looked amazing, the work they were doing was great to. The wine here is good also.

The food was sensational in every way from presentation to consumption, its five star for me with 9 very happy American guests with me on the day.

We visited 18 February - spent most of the time kicking ourselves for not coming out sooner. We started with the wine tasting - our host was amazing and shared her knowledge freely, really enjoyed. We stayed for lunch - Food was excellent along with the staff. I would highly recommend a visit - no need to go to Waiheke for a wine experience with Soljans on our door step!

Was in a group of 5 ladies & had a reservation for 12.30
We ordered and waited an hour for the meals.
We weren’t asked if we wanted more drinks and had one warm bottle of water.
When finished our mains we then waited another 15 min before or plates were taken and was offered a dessert menu… which never came and after another 15 min the same waitress came and ask if we wanted the dessert menu? And the last plate was taken away finally.
We declined this time as it was to late. We have been coming to Soljans for about 6-7 years & meet 3 times a year for a catch up. Sadly we were disappointed with the food as a see’s a huge change in the lunch menu which wasn’t stated online and a huge price hike with less on the plate.
We are not coming back sadly.

Overall the service and meal was good. Initial service took a little longer than we would have wanted, but after the first plate came out it was quick, though drinks were a bit slow all the way through. Most frustrating was that we ordered off the set menu, and it did not list main ingredients, so we ordered a meal that we thought was allergy safe, and then it got served up, with one of the main features of the meal being this allergen so we could no longer eat it. The set menu also did not offer many options in terms of allergens, even though we got told it was our only menu option when booking.

Very slow service which isn't due to the staff work ethic, it was just very understaffed. Came to a birthday lunch at 1.30pm had to ask at 2.30pm if we were able to get our starters. Had to ask to order drinks everytime wasn't offered. First drink was served at 2.10pm. Great food great drinks. Customer service 1/10. Wish that they said they were say they were full or called us in the morning if they didn't have enough staff for the day.

Great venue for a group celebration. We had excellent time to celebrate our birthday party. Staff very friendly & efficient.menu selections was yummy. Definitely coming back for another group function

Lovely staff and atmosphere. The wine trio is a great way to try their selection of wines and their mains are tasty and well presented!

We hadn't been for a few years but Soljans had always been very good. Called in today for lunch impromptu and we were both super impressed. The fish of the day was a snapper /risotto dish essentially. The fish was cooked to perfection and the flavours were superb. We also had dessert, coffee and a glass of wine all of which were excellent. We will definitely be back and would recommend it. The staff and service was also faultless

Great food, great service, lovely owners. Nice intimate restaurant. Please support them, especially during these covid times.
