The Parkhouse Whenuapai Cafe & Eatery reviews
48The location right next to a playground is a massive draw card for families - however the food was a little bland. No one in our group (4) finished their meal. But overall we had a decent time.
Beautiful food, plenty of options on the menu plus they have cabinet options as well which looked very tasty. Eggs Benedict was very good as was the Mixed Berry smoothie. Our whole party was very pleased with their meals.
Lovely local cafe, we had dinner there tonight for the first time and the pizzas were SO good! Love sitting outside in the covered space overlooking the park and the fairy lights are a nice touch. Staff are always friendly and smiley, the waitress we had tonight was really nice and kind. The house soda's they make are unique and tasty. Coffees are always great and cabinet food is also abundant, scones in particular are yum! I went with my daughter for lunch once and she said the fish and chips were the best she ever had. We'll miss this local once we move! Thanks Parkhouse!
Came to The Parkhouse for the first time. There was a sign informing customers that they were short-staffed for this day so there may be a bit of a wait for food/drinks. Although busy, very easy to find an empty table. We ordered the mushroom stack ($26), the classic egg benedict ($22) and 2 iced mochas ($9 each). Food was served within 15 minutes of sitting. Portions sizes were perfect and presentation was spot on. Our drinks came after our food had been served which I personally preferred and they were delicious.
Parking was not the easiest to find, although we were able to park across the road and walk through the park outside the cafe. The area is very child-friendly with a playground right outside the building.
I would say the only downside would be that the building is not entirely wheelchair accessible and that the tables are a little too close together to be able to navigate a wheelchair through.
Catch up with friends here. Kids friendly. Plenty of Windows here. Comfort and warm place here. The cafe connects to the playground. Great place for gathering.
Great venue for a large family, with the playground right next door. Service and food was great.
Hour delay on food because there's twice as many tables as there should be. Cabinet food bland. Coffee wasn't worth the 45 minute wait. Minimal parking
Whether you need a place to go that helps entertain the kids or you want a place that has a nice atmosphere and food, this is a good place to visit.
The team is lovely and friendly, and the food choices will have you wanting to order a few things at a time.
With the playground fenced in and lots of grass area for the kids to around, you'll find it easy to keep an eye on them while enjoying a nice cold latte from the deck.
It's a popular place, so give them a call to reserve a table, especially if you're coming in deep with a group and kids included.
I had their frenchtoast, eggs on the side with bacon and a cool ices caramel machiato (hope I spelled that right!)
Good coffee & good service - even though it was the morning after the flood. It was a bit noisy, as people were having to speak above the music.
Enjoyed the atmosphere and setting. The coffee was decent. The food was nice albeit on the small side for the price with what I had. Overall a good cafe in a nice spot and averege service
Coffees and ambience were good. Some ok cabinet options available and big tables and outdoor seating too. Menu Food was overpriced but cooked well.
Great coffee and great, friendly service. So grateful they are our local to support them. We've been going since we've moved in the area about 4 years ago. They've changed owners after the first covid lockdown and the new owners (not so new anymore) are very friendly and kind. They know our family now and are always hospitable. So handy being next to the playground and easy access to supervise the kids. I'd only deduct half a star for how pricey it is but what isn't these days.
Finding parking no problem, other wise inside the premises or out on street.
The is a ramp for those with wheel chairs.
A spacious and bright clear atmosphere inside white wooden decor clean and inviting.
We were greeted with a smile and told menus on tables.
Soft music playing not over powering
So you can hold a good conversation.
Fantastic place for parents with children
they have a playground.
You can sit eat and watch your children from your seating.
The food and drinks we ordered was fantastic check my photo's
Polite and courteous staff.
Most definitely reccomended this establishment
Really enjoyed lunch - delicious Smashed Avocado! Friends had a vegan option of Roast Cauliflower- also delicious! Menu offers lots of choices and owners are super friendly. Great place for a coffee or special meal. Thanks
A large group for my daughters family birthday. Incredible service. Incredible food. Incredible communication. Highly recommend The Parkhouse and their staff. Will defiantly be back. This place never fails to impress. Thank you.
First time at cafe with 8 friends. Everyone ordered something different from menu and every dish was throughly enjoyed by all.
A good amount, very fresh, thoughtfully designed and very tasty.
Short wait, 20mins for all to arrive and the we were served with curtious & friendly service making us feel special, a real skill.
The cafe was spotless and so were the toilets.
I happily recommend this cafe.
Food was fantastic, fresh and tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful with my dietary requirements. A hugely busy bustling cafe, if you can handle the crazyness on weekends then the food was well worth it and the kids playground just outside is really handy. Went back during the week and not as good as had sold out of a couple of menu items and replacements weren't as good, service much slower despite being much less busy.
Lovely outside sitting with my friend and our dog. It was a shame it started raining but the ambrella kept us almost dry. Very nice staff
We got here today and wasn't much left. Opted just to get the sausage roll and it was really good! Would recommend maybe a green salad on the side of it but regardless would come back here
Great experiences here over the last couple of weeks. Friendly staff each visit, lovely atmosphere and full of sunshine both days! Coffee was nicely roasted, the Kumara chips were fantastic and I’m looking forward to returning. Thanks team!
