Great food good service, definitely improved in recent months not a bug buzz for lunchtime but a great place all the same

Fantastic food! I had the pork belly - very flavorsome. My wife had the Eye Fillet steak and it was by far the best steak we've had in Auckland. Meat was fresh and juicy, even on a medium well.

We had dinner over the weekend and it was great. Except that my meat didn’t come well done as I asked so the maybe owner or general manager rapidly solved the problem in a great manner. We will definitely go back! Great atmosphere and excellent customer service ️️️️️

Loved it. Great staff, wines on the glass and food. My only comment would be that the cheese selection was served a little too chilled, however there is an easy way to remedy that with an extra glass of wine.

Food was nice. The let down was the end of the night when we approached the counter to pay our bill (we were in a group of 8 people) and the staff member gave us the doc and a calculator to work the bill out ourselves. It was a long process and I am sure he could have ticked items off using his computer perhaps? Especially when you are paying $44 for a main, I would expect a slightly better service.

The chicken was excellent and we had a lot of fun in a very casual atmosphere. They also serve really good cocktails.

The restaurant is based in a trendy area and very much follows that vibe. Staff was friendly and efficient. The snapper was tasty and well presented. Unfortunately the gnocchi was a bit burnt. Overall ok.

First time dining at Ponsonby Bistro and it ticked all the boxes. Great staff, great food and nice atmosphere and decor.

This is that review where I wished there was a 6th review star to hand out. Absolutely everything was perfect from the second we stepped through the door of Ponsonby Road Bistro. The staff were super attentive, the food incredible, the atmosphere all the best of the best. Looking forward to going back again soon.

Good food (albeit slightly over salted mains), good wine, good service & a good chance 2 of our party caught COVID there. 2 also came away with flue like symptoms. Tight spacing & 1 entrance door only!?

One of our favorite local places for dinner. Always great tasting food of exceptional quality, a good wine selection, and genuine good service.

Went on Friday for dinner and even though they had staffing shortages due to COVID, the team who were on did an AMAZING job. A slightly longer wait, but food delivered with bigger smiles. Keep up the great work guys - you’re doing it tough but not letting the high standard slip.

A bit fancy as you might expect in Ponsonby, but the prices weren't crazy, especially considering the quality of the food: it was delicious!
Staff were attentive and friendly too.
As it is Ponsonby, parking can be an issue.

My wife and I had the most fantastic time here and couldn't fault the place. Lovely cocktails, great bottle of sauvignon blanc and the best 3 course meal that we have had in ages. From the clams in red curry sauce as an entree, the delicious sole for my wife, confit duck for me and delicious chocolate pudding. Definitely a go back to place. The owners and staff are extremely pleasant and the restaurant was as busy as which is always a good sign.

I was really excited to try this restaurant given the reviews. Unfortunately, I ended up with swollen throat and lips due to the kitchen not meeting my allergy requirements after they assured me they would and they state they can cater to allergies. This was super disappointing for me that my allergies weren’t taken seriously like other Ponsonby restaurants as it’s a serious health concern and I hope this can be improved for future customers!

The cocktails got too much ice. The main was a bit underwhelmed.the garnish is a bit messy. But still a good place to dinning out.

Steak was extremely bland and needed a huge amount of salt.had some issues with almost being charged with the wrong order too.other than that service was great and atmosphere was super nice

Didn’t have an amazing experience here sadly. The service wasn’t great, took forever to take our order and the food was very slow to come out. It was very busy which is probably why but still a shame. Really enjoyed the food though. The duck was incredible! Worth another try on a less busy night perhaps.

Exceptionally good service, a delightful menu that's aways changing, and probably the best wine list in Ponsonby.
