Up Cafe

Up Cafe is located on the Mezzanine level of the hotel in downtown Auckland.

Food is great and if you're looking carefully you'll notice there are some choices available made with ingredients from the Pacific, like my favorite, hot Koko.

Lisa and Aaron own and operate the space, and have all the expected yums you'd want from a cafe, or if you're needing something more specific, don't be afraid to ask.

What a gem. Lovely coffee (try the Samoan mocha - it’s yum! And the toasted rēwena bread is amazing) and generous breakfast and the friendliest service.

Went to Up after the Super Rugby Grand Final in June.

Awesome find - how come I never knew about this place before? Good value for money. Food is great - eggs benny with salmon was very good. I also liked the setting - an honest place without any unnecessary modern hipstery fleur, which sometimes does not translate into good food.

Ordered their catering platters for office lunch and it was a mega hit! So we absolutely had to try them out in person and they did not disappoint! Food was delicious & tasty, atmosphere warm & comfy and owner was so welcoming and friendly.

This cafe is highly recommended! Went to this place few time and it never disappointed me. From breakfast to brunch, all dishes are delicious and great customer service team!

Looking for a quality low fuss place to eat, in a nice setting? This is it. As out of towners the city has been hard at times to navigate a nice place to eat. All we wanted was a good breakfast and 'Up Cafe' served us well. From adults, teens, a 5yr old and an infant. Great prices, amazing portions, nice atmosphere and great service by the owner herself.
Our whanau are currently navigating the world of child cancer and have been apart of city for 2weeks already. 2 to go. This cafe has been our best place to eat so far. Very suitable for our teenager who prefers more quiet settings, not too overly crowded, and yummy food.
Every meal was fantastic. We had Porridge. Full breaky. Salmon Benedict. Eggs on toast. Mince on toast. Smoothies and coffees. All great meals.

Really friendly staff, very generous portion and delicious veggie omelette, even rushed my order due to my own time pressures. Nice spot for breakfast, and coffee is delicious!

Up Cafe food is always good, the service efficient and the premises pleasant and comfortable, but more importantly, the staff are friendly and create a warm family atmosphere for their many regulars. I have used their services for a large celebration and I thoroughly recommend them for this too!

Up Cafe has amazing customer service, and equally amazing food! Lisa and the team treat every customer like a friend, and they create a homely welcoming atmosphere. I would highly recommend the mushrooms for breakfast!

As a cafe: Feels like home at Up Cafe. The owners and staff are all super friendly. We have tried a few different options of the menu and never been disappointed. Few different seating options within the Cafe to choose from (as a mum I love that there's a space where I can dine with my children without disturbing the other patrons, or escape my children if I prefer an outdoor option). If you're lucky, there might be koko Samoa on the menu when you visit

As a venue: Love it so much I used Up Cafe as the venue for my engagement party. The owners were so accommodating and gave me a range of options to choose from for catering. Would highly recommend!

Don't be deterred by parking issues - plenty of options on the side streets and all within a 2 minute walk - totally worth it and always a good cause supporting a small family business.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I will definitely be coming back here once out of lockdown. The best service! Lisa and her team are all so friendly and welcoming. The food is very delicious I had pasta of the day which was, creamy chicken and mushroom and I’m speechless. The kids had their pizza and the mega green smoothie which was so tasty. My partner had the beef and bacon burger and he really enjoyed it as well!

Catered for my baby shower and the food was so good as I didn’t want anything big but a grazing table and this was perfect. Lisa was quick to set up also especially commuting from the city to Flat Bush while her cafe was still open. So she went above and beyond. Thank you upcafe

When you enter the hotel lobby just head up those stairs (or lift) to find this little GEM. The service is warm and genuine. The menu is of great value at no expense of quality. Perfect spot and a must try when you're in the heart of Auckland. 10/10!

Our family had the best experience! Lisa had a warm and friendly approach to all the customers. Food was of abundance and so delicious. I wish that we had an Up Cafe in Tokoroa and cannot wait to visit again, especially for the Kokoccino.

Up Cafe is my go to whenever I am in the city! I bring my friends here, catch up for lunch and drive in from West for brunch on weekends sometimes too! Lisa and the Team are amazing, so welcoming. The vibe of the cafe is very chill. The FOOD! Amazing, delicious, quality food - massive servings too so real value for money. I highly recommend going here - these are only a few of the photos ive taken - I love the Creamy Mushrooms or the waffles, the Caesar salad is amazing - in fact the whole menu is a vibe! If you have never been, you should go! Support local.
