V.T. Station - Victoria Terminus

VT Station - Victoria Terminus has a great vibe, and the decor is such that you can imagine yourself in a railway restaurant in India - or any part of the British Empire for that matter. The food is really interesting - not just the usual Indian fare, doctored for Kiwi tastes, and there is a good variety in the menu, so that you can have a lot of smaller, shared plates, or you can go the traditional route of entree and main. The cocktail menu is also well worth a run through - the Bombay Mule in particular was delicious! The service is efficient and the staff are friendly, informative and attentive, without being intrusive. We are definitely returning as there was so much on the menu we want to sample. We can highly recommend a visit.

Service excellent. Staff was efficient and explained the menu. The place itself is very nicely done. We had cocktails and lots of food along with. Murg was excellent. Butter chk on the sweeter side. Roaster chk, chilli chicken was good. Only complain portion size. Everything is too small for what you pay. With the ingredients used I believe that the quantity can easily be increased. Will be back again but not on a regular basis since the price for the quantity is a bit too much.

Lovely experience. Special recommendation to their snacks, yummy and tasty. Ambience is lovely and quiet. Staff was awesome too.

We had been meaning to come here for a while. So pleased we did. The gin cocktails were wonderful, as was the food and presentation. Staff were outstanding - they certainly know what good service is without being intrusive.
As we both said, we won’t be buying our Indian food anywhere else now.

Pros- Good food and service
Cons- extremely small portions and exorbitant costs.
As an example, a naan bread is $6 compared to $3.50/$4 at other comparable Indian restaurants. Moreover, the size of the naan bread was half of what you get elsewhere.

Consistently great flavoured food, drinks are a tad spenny, but the staff are all good chat and know their stuff.

Amazing Staff, Amazing food & Drinks, even the head chef came out and greeted us which I though was brilliant.

The cocktails were works of art, the food refreshingly authentic and classy. Add a fantastic service, and you have yourself a 5 experience. A real gem

Unfortunately this wasn't my best experience, from the poor service, tiny portion sizes (do not expect to get value for money), the food was average and was sat waiting for 90 minutes for my meal to arrive to the table, by that time my friends had finished and I had already anticipated the small portion that would not fulfill my appetite. Leaving the restaurant I headed to make myself something else at home rather than wait another hour for more overpriced food.

Visited Victoria Station early this week, scrumptious food, amazing cocktails and the staff was very friendly and great service especially Albi explained the menu really well.
Will definitely visit again.

I have eaten at this restaurant several times with my family. Excellent Indian cuisine. Service is ok, but if it improved I would give it 5 stars.

I have been to this place quite a few times and always had a great experience until last Wednesday.
Though the staff offered good service, they looked tired and unhappy, I guess staffing issues due covid. The starters and cocktails were great but the main course was way off the mark.
The butter chicken was too sweet and the hyderabadi murgh was just bland and tasteless. Being from hyderabad myself I can say this is no where close to the actual flavours.
Desserts were good but overall I will not recommend this place unless its for cocktails.

Everything was an absolute AMAZING experience! From the food to the people and the whole setup of an Indian train station; it was delightful
The complimentary peanuts upon arrival to the masala chai served in glass tumblers & with biscuits.the portion size was adequate for 4 grownups; we had the chilli chicken & chaat as starters followed by butter chicken & baigan bharta and the course was finished by piping hot, freshly prepared gulab jamuns:)

We really loved the food and cocktails here, however our experience had been limited to lunch services. The flavors are divine, from smoky tandoori roasted chicken to flaky buttery nan. I'm not a vegetarian and would usually tend to order the meatier dishes. However at VT my go to curry has been the Dal Makhani (a rich creamy lentil based curry) and the Bainga Bharta (smoky charcoal roasted eggplant).

One minor critique I have is around the timing of dishes. Sometimes there are large breaks between dishes, better to have a steady stream. Other times we'd have nan and rice arrive by themselves well before any of the curry main dishes.

Food is amazing, service great. A favourite place and will be back again (as will my work colleagues who came here for the first time).

Absolutely loved our first time here. Great atmosphere, FANTASTIC staff, delicious food. The Sikandri Shank is a must!

I dined here few days ago with my family and I have to say the food was amazing. I must recommend to anyone wanting to try this place to order the Chilli chicken. This was a fave along with the stuffed peppers. The food just has amazing spices and flavours and professionally presented.

The atmosphere was a nice vibe to dine at and the service was A+

There is a difference between ripping off people
And running a business. This business is ripping off. Very less quantity and price double the other Indian restaurant and rate was average.

Never go there, try other Indian restaurants. Waste of money

Absolutely delicious food - each dish was an explosion of amazing flavours. The staff and service were excellent. They really wanted your V. T.station experience to be something special.

Had the most amazing dinner at VT Station on Friday night, the food was extraordinarily good, really tasty, authentic, with a modern twist.really delicious cocktails, the staff were so hospitable and welcoming, we had a really fun night, great music, will definitely be coming back and recommending to everyone
