VTNZ reviews
56My truck was inspected here with axle 1 rusted. Drove to workshop, mechanic there can’t find any sign of chassis corrosion. Went to other vtnz got it passed immediately.
Vtnz Avondale my favourite place for WOF and Reg all in one. Friendly staff, somewhere to sit and wait in warmth and my only place I go now, often without appointment and always with a smile. 100% recommendation.
Lovely Lady at reception and she's very helpful, she make things very easier. Thanks again.
Been going here for 5 years, this will be the last time and will warn everyone at work too.
Showed up at around 14: 20 in the afternoon with only 1 car ahead of me in the queue, figured I had good timing, what could go wrong. Ended up going back and asking for a refund 1 hour and 20 minutes later. A bus and two trucks made it through the magic right lane while I watched in disbelief as the gaggle of inspectors moved slower a herd of sloths.
The lady behind the counter is a star as usual, friendly and professional.
Super disappointed wasting my life like this.
Received awesome customer service from this branch, the lady behind the counter is lovely to deal with
Absolutely shocking service here the last few months has really gone down hill. I’d been going for 10 years. Huge queues and turned away for a recheck an hour before closing. I’ve had more things found with a month of last check and no mileage, this show inconsistent inspections. Reception someone ambivalent and I got more empathy from other customers. Go to Sylvia park for your CoF.
VTNZ Avondale has normally been my go to for bike WoFs but the last 4 weekends in a row they've not had anyone able to do them on a Saturday, it's quite frustrating as I'm not really able to take a day off during the week to get the bike WoF'd.
Best vtnz I e been to in Auckland.
Great service from ladies at counter to the team checking your vehicle.
I had a bad experience here. The queues are long. I was turned away from a simple recheck an hour before closing. Reception didn’t care. More empathy from other customers. Manager didn’t help. Don’t go here
Very efficient and good service by the team here. Always good banter while you wait for you service/WOF. Always go here even though there is a VTNZ closer to me.
2 and a half hours with only 2 cars in front. They created the que then went for lunch. Rather than either not open the lane or take staggered lunches. This is twice it's taken over 2 hours
Short line, quick easy in and out. Bonus is the car passed. Efficient which is what I want at this time of the year.
Great service. Friendly people. The receptionist recommended a good trustworthy mechanics which is hard to come by.
I went there to have my Toyota Aqua looked at. One of the technicians took it for a drive and immediately told me the problem it had, saying the car's computer had lost communication with the gearbox. He suggested that I take the car to a Toyota Workshop. Later they confirmed exactly what the VTNZ technician had diagnosed after only a short drive. Hats off to him!
Rediculously slow. I was there for over an hour and a half just to get a WOF. There wasn't a big queue in front of me. They were just that slow.
In the photo I have posted you can see that there are no cars at all in the car-lane at any stage. Meanwhile there is a huge queue gathered outside.
Very happy and pleased with the exceptional and professional quality service from Kate.
She goes extra mile in genuinely helping her clients and keeping them happy:)
In my case Kate tried to help me sort out an ongoing RUC penalty issue with NZTA regardless of her busy schedule
Thanks heaps agin Kate and we definitely need more staff like Kate

Excellent service
Counter lady such a friendly and down to earth woman made the wait entertaining for my baby and I while we waited
Took my car in for a WOF inspection, after inspection I have been told it failed on window tint, as I did my WOF with VTNZ for the pass 3 years and it never had the problem, I asked why this wasn’t an issue for the last 2 years he couldn’t tell me why, only told me if I change the vehicle class from MA to MC then the problem will be solved and I have to go to Avondale to get it done. I only found out later on it can’t be done…
So I went to Avondale VTNZ which I did my WOF with the same car a few years ago, after waited for an hour, the inspector who finally talked to me was RUDE, once I told him my problem all he told me is that it’s not his problem, he is not willing to help or provide solution for me, when I asked why was it missed in the first 2 inspections with VTNZ he said it’s not HE who did it, I mean sure I get that but couldn’t he at least be polite and professional about the matter instead of keeping “it’s not my problem? ” Is that the customer service VTNZ stands for?
My issue is: window tint is a rule, yet a lot of cars have same or darker window tint than my car, if it’s a safety issue why was it not picked up when I did my previous inspections? Why am I driving an unsafe vehicle with my family for the past 3 years? Its not acceptable to say “they don’t always check” or “it’s note who did it” as a WOF inspector.if it’s not a safety issue and inspector “sometimes” inspect it because they feel like it, why am I being punished for what other people are not?
Great service with faster solutions. Was in and out in 10-15 minutes for my car WOF. Will go again for next WOF.
Friendly staff & prompt service once I reached the front of queue. Can get v.busy, but that's no surprise on a weekend, especially. No WOF issues this time for my car, but overheard another fail assessment that was relayed & received well. Good stuff.
