We bought an excellent low emission masport radiant heat style firebox for our lounge from these guys. Its cranks out heat and has worked brilliantly for several years now. Its really lovely to have the heat in the lounge/kitchen and stand in front of it. We are very happy with it. Great price. They did the council consent for us. Prompt good installation. Has worked well for years. Then even rang us up recently to chimney sweep it too, which they did they did within a few days. I then asked them to attach some stabilising stays to the chimney which they did the next day. Overall we are very pleased, and think they have been excellent! Many thanks!

Highly recommend this company for attentive sales queries on all products in the showroom that I had questions for, no fuss planning with the onsite quote with firm reassurance of what needed sorting and did everything they said they were going to do. Even though the wrong woodburner was ordered by mistake, it was swiftly replaced with the correct one no problem! Absolute professionalism and meticulous customer service all the way. You guys are the best in the West!

I would highly recommend this company right from the beginning on time totally professional and so easy to deal with great job and awesome product thanks west auckland heating.

We wanted to install an insert fireplace into an existing chimney cavity. One installer said it couldn't be done. We visited West City Heating and told Alastair that we had a problem. His response was: we are here to solve it. And they did! It was a complex installation but at all times the approach was friendly, professional and timely. The fire they recommended, a Yunca Xander, is brilliant! We highly recommend West City Heating, the service they provided was outstanding.

Solomon and his team were brilliant to deal with. Clear communication, turned up early and very reasonably priced.

If you are reading this review then chances are you are thinking about paying this company to do some work for you.

If you have lots of time on your hands to constantly chase them to finish the job, if you are happy with substandard, non compliant negligent work, if you are willing to risk yourself, your family, your pets, and all your worldly possessions perishing in a house fire then this is absolutely the company for you!

If you want a safe, compliant, hassle free job done, don't use west city heating.

Fireplace was installed 24.2.22. The ceiling plate didn't fit and I was told it would take 2 weeks to have one made. It is now 27.6.22 and the ceiling plate still has not been installed.
I have lost count of the number of times have phoned west city heating to get them to finish the job.

I was initially told not to use the fireplace until the ceiling plate was installed, but after much chasing by me I was told in May that the fireplace was fine to use without a ceiling plate and that the staff member who said it was unsafe to use a fireplace with parts missing didn't know what he was talking about.

Communication and service from this company has been absolutely shocking. Any contact from them has only been in response to me chasing them, appointments have been made only to have them not turn up, or cancel appointment with a promise to reschedule that never happens, or turn up and not be able to do the job. I am absolutely dumbfounded at what a negligent mess of a job this continues to be 4+ months on.

Unfortunately I can only highly recommend that you look elsewhere for your fireplace needs. I will now be contacting the Nz home heating association and auckland council for fireplace safety and compliance advice.

I needed to find a replacement fire brick kit for our Kent Murchison fireplace and was recommended I contact West City Heating. I emailed through a request which was responded to the following day, stating there may be a 3-4 week wait. I received a follow up call this morning, only 4 days later, the kits had arrived and one had been put aside for me. Great communication, excellent customer service Hannaka, was a pleasure doing business with you.

From getting a quote to installation, highly recommend West City Heating. No dramas in getting a quote and it being emailed to me that day as well as a professional job done in installing our brand new fireplace. No leftover mess as they did all that themselves before they left.

In the past I have dealt with Solomon and had great service. I bought a unit with them but recently I had an experience that left me fuming. I called in to ask for door knob for a fire I bought from them. They had some issues about incorrect pricing but Solomon called me and sorted it all out. I have to say I am very satisfied by the level of service provided by Solomon. I would definitely recommend these guys. Thank you.

Subcontractor they sent could not do the job as agreed and quoted. Left the current installation in a damaged state. No response from the company to our follow-up emails. Disappointing service.

Friendly and knowledgeable customer service from Solomon and Alastair on the day of our visit to their Henderson retail shop. We experienced a warm and engaging site visit by Solomon the next day. Although their final quote was not the cheapest, we appreciated their willingness to review it. These factors all contributed to us now looking forward to a June installation by West City Heating.
I have now added another star for installation by Dave.and thank-you for patiently answering my many questions. Junior deserves a 5-star plug too.friendly and informative followup service; he also showed us a faster method of laying a fire.impressed!

These guys make other shops like Mitre 10 and Bunnings etc look like a simple waste of time.

All points of contact have been second to none. From the first meeting with Solomon to the installation by Phil was seamless. West City Heating took care of everything for us, obtaining the council permit, dismantling and installation of new firebox and not a speck of dust left behind and all within 3 weeks! We had multiple work orders sent off back in MARCH for work to be completed, due to their incompetence this was not completed or followed up NOR were we ever advised of a change in their system. When I called to follow up their staff were rude and unhelpful (untrained?) and would not work to resolve issues caused only on their end. I honestly do not recommend this company, they're an absolute waste of time, in fact if you do require the services of a chimney clean I highly recommend Complete Chimney Care, who I have used previously at another company!

I found Solomon communicated well and the guys doing the installation did a great job and didn't leave any mess highly recommend.

Ever since change in ownership/staff this company has been pathetic to deal with. Frontline staff is absolutely rude and I would highly recommend that if you want to get your chimney swept DO NOT USE these cowboys! They don't even deserve the 1 star rating

Booked in the Morning for 9: 30AM, waited to 10: 30AM, NO show. Called the office, said they can only come on 12 PM as they were running late. I complained about the non curtesy call for running late, office lady just calmly wanting to hand me to another business. What a service, I am so impressed, congratulation to Wes city heating, just as well you are providing warmth service.
It was very nice West City heating responded to my complaint swiftly, A nice gentleman called me at 11: am saying he could come up for a look now. I was very happy with his visit, friendly and knowledgeable. Hopefully, we can come to an agreement before winter creep over the earth.

I was in need of some maintenance for my fire place, and have only heard of good things from West City Heating. I sent an emailing describing what I required, and within a few hours I was given all the help I needed! All I can say this place is fast, professional and helpful. Will defiantly be using their services again!:)

I booked an appointment at 1130am today and I rung at 10 to make sure I had the time right. At 12.30 I rung back and advised that she will give him a call to see where he is. I then received a text at 130 to advise me that he is just finishing on site then is on his way - I then text just after 2pm to advise that he hadn't turned up and I needed to pick up my kids from kindy - no reply. I then rung at 230 and she advised he cannot get there until 4pm! There was no I am so sorry to muck you around, it was he cannot be there until 4pm. I just think they could of been on the ball with communication much more but I would hate to pay them to install the fireplace and muck us around with install so we will not be using them.
