Baxters Cafe reviews
31Food was nice but no prices on board for drinks plus couple I was with had to remind staff their drinks had been forgotten
We went here for some morning tea and a coffee. I wanted a vanilla latte with soy milk and they charged me $8. I cancelled my order. Had a small savory which was nice and got a Chai latte in the end for $5. I wish I knew how they got to the price of the coffee but they had no prices up on their board. When we spoke to the lady behind the till she was so rude and basically threw the refunded money back across the counter. I would never go back!
$10.00 for a GF vege filled quiche on its own. Same size as a small muffin. Only vege could see was spinach and piece of tomato on top. It was like rubber and tasted awful. Would not recommend.
The eggs Benedict were delicious but the toast too small for 2 eggs and mushrooms.
Customer service average, the waitress brought the tray with 4 coffees and just left it on the table without distributing them to each person.
Service was great and so was the food. Enjoyed a nice soy latte & hot chocolate with our meals.
Well organised and efficient in these covid restricted times with friendly service. Most importantly the breakfast was great!
Just had the most yummy warm chicken salad. And hubby a BLT. Delicious.
Will come back here when in Whakatane again.
Bowl of loaded wedges for 2 $15, good value. Only negative is that should have hot drinks served with the wedges. Need request next time. R
I had a hot chocolate and a date scone for morning tea, and bought sandwiches for lunch later. Friendly staff, good service
Food was ok seemed like it was rushed tho they forgot our mushrooms & hot chocolate staff seemed rude mainly lady at till
Beautiful food. Daughter enjoyed a sandwich and coffee, I had a pork and apple baguette. Delicious, the taste took me to Christmas. Unfortunately I'm in Auckland, so might be a while to get back.
Service was fast and friendly. Food was very good. Did not have any sweetener for my wife's coffee who is diabetic. Bitter coffee for her!
Great for those needing wheelchair access, lovely customer service. Highly recommend their beautiful food.
My main bakery in Whakatanei love the sponge drops & my children always order themselves a heated brownie
Stairs make accessibility difficult for older customers. Ramp is right at the back of the store. Be a good idea to invest in a stick vac for quick floor clean ups. The pies are pre bagged in the warmer. BUYER BEWARE. Some of the pies looked like they'd been in the warmer overnight, and you really can't tell unless you open the bags. And they were Salty AS.
Standards have really dropped.
The lady in the counter was not approachable. Took our order in a hurry. Did not really listened and so she got the wrong orders. Then she insisted to serve us the wrong items. Terribly dismayed!
The fried chicken burger was delicious, so were the hot cakes stack. The muffins and biscuits I had from the counter were a bit bland and dry.
Love the new (ish) makeover. Place looks very clean
Wow first time I'm service was great very polite no judgement ️ food was delicious I had a caramelised pastry loved it
Great range of cafe food and meals. A bit more expensive than your run-of-the-mill cafe, but worth it for the quality of their products.
