Baxters Cafe reviews
31Bought 1 coffee, sign said medium $4.50 large $5. They charged me $6 for a large. Gave me a number on a stick and told me to take a seat. 15 minutes later a lady asks me if I'm still waiting on something ️. Finally get my coffee and walk down the street. The lid is slightly too big for the cup and doesn't seal tight so I take a drink and end up wearing it down my front. Would've been 1 star but the coffee was alright. Credit where credit's due.
Delicious food, reasonable cost, lovely ambience though we sat outside, friendly, staff, very enjoyable Breakfast experience, Thank you Baxters next time we're in Whakatane we will definitely be back
Very cosy and comfortable place to have a nice hot cup of coffee and get ready to get your day started. If you're driving through town, it's a good place to stop by.
Never again.scone was as dry as they could get it.mushroom and chicken melt, filling was lovely couldnt cut or chew the bun.good coffee though
Friendly place, seemed quite popular with the locals - always a good sign - and service was good.
Absolutely brilliant. Compliments to the chef od outstanding food and fast. So full of tast and fresh. Awesome range of food and an exciting menu
We were the first customers of the day. We were greeted with warm 'Good morning Ladies' and served with a smile. Yummy food. The bacon was cooked perfectly, French toast was done perfectly and the hot cakes made a picky 13 year old very happy
I travelled to whakatane for work purposes and happened to stop in at baxters cafe for breakfast. The food and service were awesome, the food was very delicious, I would highly recommend Baxters.
I thought the prices were sky high.that tiny sausage you see on the photo is $4.00 each and eggs were more than $2 each.caught me by surprise as the extras are not priced on their board.
However all is not bad as the creamy mushie toast was quite enjoyable to eat. Compliment to your cook/chef
Delicious food good portions, great service, reasonable price. Great to have an area for our kids to sit and play too. Thank you, we will be back.
Carrot cake. Rock hard.
As I broke a piece off to have my first bite it fell onto the plate making a ting sound.
The lovely lady behind the register asked if I wanted it heated as she claimed that it had been in the fridge before hand.trouble was it wasn't even cold to touch as I did touch the cake to see if that was the case. I kindly refused as it had cream cheese icing to which I didn't want to fall ill.
I was however able to get something else to replace it which was lovely service.
I then asked if she could show me what was freshly made, she told me everything was but I couldn't understand as if that was the case my first pick being the carrot cake should of been at least edible without being rock hard.
The wedges!
Paid for a large only to get half what you used to be able to get. And at a most expensive price too I might add!
Very disappointing as we used to come here nearly every other weekend just to get wedges but the quantity became a lot less, less toppings and the price was forced up. This is the reason why we initially stopped.
It's been about a year since then and sadly things haven't improved regarding the wedges. In fact you get less than what you used to get during that time.
