What can I say except thank the heavens that I found this gem of a place to go and be with friends to enjoy great cocktails and exceptional service. Matt the owner, comes from a chef background and has worked across the globe in numerous countries and now has settled in Papamoa. I had the privilege of spending some time talking to him on Thursday night (Ladies Night 2 for 1 Cocktails) and chatting about his journey in creating such an awesome venue for the locals. Besides the amazing views from the deck of the beautiful beach at sunset, Matt’s priority is clearly on delivering exceptional food and drinks with great hospitality which just comes naturally to him. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are just quality, attending to your every need. The live music rung out from the veranda and the place was humming with locals all enjoying the opportunity to get out about in our amazing community and relax in comfort and style. The food was delicious, the drinks were on point and were quick to arrive at the table. I can definitely say that I will be returning to the Blue Biyou to continue to explore the fabulous menu and build memories with the locals!

This restaurant is in a beautiful location, overlooking the coast. Very kind, friendly, helpful staff. Our entrees, mains, and dessert were all gorgeous! We thoroughly enjoyed the beer battered oysters, sashimi, eye fillet steak and the trifle! Only feedback would be that the kids meals were too small. All our children finished their meals and needed a pizza ordered afterward. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit)

New bar is awesome. Fresh light cheerful fun. Great food while you watch surfers and the waves. Best view in Tauranga

Such a shame that the waitress made us feel unwelcome and was visibly annoyed because we didn’t have a booking.

We went back for the next two nights as the food and service was so good! Nice views of the beach and great ambiance. We will definitely come back here!

Came here a few weeks back on a Wednesday, Beautiful place with great decor. Ordered two Aperol Spirtz outside on the deck and had to wait nearly 30 minutes from them to arrive. Went to pay and ended up waiting 15 minutes because a group were splitting the bill.staff weren't impressive when we enquired about the food and we overheard one customer ask for a Bloody Mary and got the response " i don't know what that is".

Very nice menu choices, service was good and staff very helpful, a popular place worth visiting again

First timer to bluebiyou.nice vibe.good view.adequate menu Choice and the pork belly and scallops really exquisite. And sticky date pudding with ice cream to round off a really enjoyable evening.

Fantastic view, service and food. Will deffinetley go back and highly recommend to anyone who is a bit of a foodie. Portions could be bigger, but that just meant I had room for dessert.

asked what's talking so long, first time been told it is on the way
second time been told that apparently the order had not been pit through
third time that there was a hold up in the kitchen
premises are nice, food was ok, but nothing special to be worth waiting for that long

Great view, food was wonderful, staff attentive and also very apologetic for the LOUD booming music from the facilty next door. Really spoilt the atmosphere of a lovely dinner. Don't go if you want a quiet meal.

The food was excellent. 10 out 10 for food. Top marks to the chef. Waiting staff need to pick up the slack. Like taking people's orders faster. Wonderful place for view.

New Beach bar open at bluebiyou, beautiful place, had a one man band, cocktails were lovely, great view of beach. Highly recommend the beach bar.

The food hear was awesome. We had a small issue with the service at the beginning but they apologised and made the rest of the night awesome. Thanks for a good evening, we were using the dinner as a thank you to our hosts who fully appreciated it.

Is was a shame the service was sloppy. Water was warm tap water! (Did they not have room in the fridge!). The platter to share had rock hard cheese! And very little to share for two, we could count the peanuts. They ask if we wished for a ice bucket for our bottle of wine! (Is that not a given!). We didn't see the waiter again! We were comfortable for an extra bottle. Oh well, there loss. But it couldn't change my mood. Had the best company to share this under new management experience.

Location is good, food is ok, service is terrible. Waited half an hour for a table even though we had booked. Drinks didn’t arrive until after the mains despite ordering them before the food. Dishes piling up on the bar throughout the night. Looks like they could do with some more staff.

Really disappointed as staff mucked up our booking, always check that they book you on the right day!

Absolutely beautiful food, great atmosphere and fantastic waitress.
Will definitely be back next time we come to Tauranga.

Best restaurant in New Zealand by far. Beef melted off the bone. The vegetarian meal was incredible. Highly highly recommend
