Cafe On The Strand

I go every Friday morning before work. Coffee's are perfect, food is perfect too. Prices are reasonable.
Management are are very welcoming and premises clean and comfortable.

Best place to sit on the strand, as the early morning sun streams in the front windows.

Old school place serving cheap, bland, old school food. That would be not too bad if the prices were also cheap, but too pricey for what it is.

I had Eggs Benedict for $20. The hollandaise was terrible, the worst I've had in a long time, possibly ever. Clearly the cheapest sauce they can get. And smothered into too much of it as well. I scraped off as much as I could.

And they don't have bacon! They have some weird thing called 'beef bacon'. It's not fried, it's more like slices of roast beef. But it tastes really weird and doesn't go with eggs at all!

It's a weird half-measure. Either a place is vegetarian or vegan if that's their jam. Or they serve meat. But this place doesn't do bacon specifically, which is really odd for a cafe.

You can get Eggs Benedict for $20-25 at other places around, that make their own hollandaise that tastes fantastic. So this one needs to be $15 at most for what it is.

Staff were not unfriendly per se, but not overly talkative or went out of their way to be welcoming or friendly.

The place was dead, no atmosphere, no music.

Great place to chill out and watch the Harbour and people go by - very reasonable prices and good coffee - has changed hands but the friendly atmosphere has remained - they remember you and that is rare these days - recommend to all!

Horrible now that it has new owners, prices too high for what is served. Dead quiet, no music, not friendly. Don't think we will be back.

Friendly, fast service as there were only a few people when we went in, cash or credit cards are accepted, the door would be wheelchair accessible. Looking at the different menus on the board for breakfast, brunch, lunch $25 would be more than sufficient.

The ladies here are awesome! Always a warm welcome & a super cheerful attitude. Really brightens up your day. ️?

My favourite place for breakfast, egg Benedict, the big breakfast with scrambled eggs, chicken salad with bowl of chips.love the chips, and plenty of room to sit, but be quick popular in the mornings.

I go here every morning, very friendly awesome people and wonderful food.

Great place that still serves real food and at a fair price. 16 dollars for a big breakfast.

The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The food is utterly divine and I can highly recommend the Big Breakfast. The atmosphere is relaxing and basically a beautiful place to stop and take a break.
An asset to Tauranga that the owners and staff can be rightfully proud of.

Great Cafe! Not a cafe in the Mount would match this place for value. They are happy to cater for people who only want small portions. Staff always friendly. Food always hot. Nice view. We come here from the Mount especially.

Always a worthwhile trip over the bridge for brekkie - great to see the last couple of years hasn't dampened the welcome. Cheers Nikki and Team

Brought 2 takeway coffees from here the other day. Honestly i should of taken them back, and asked for our money back! Both coffees were burned, far far to hot, and not even a good bean. So sad really, as i had to park our campa 400 meters away, and walk to there shop. We will not return.
And whats the point of staff wearing a mask, when they dont wear it while Making the bloody coffee? This is really wrong

I was ignored for a while, while a worker was preparing a drink (not acknowledging me at all - yes, she could see me). After she left to deliver the drink another worker finally saw me and came to serve me. Even if you can't serve a customer quickly at least say "hi" and let them know you see them. The food and tea were a real let down. Budget herbal tea served. The mini pizza (I mean really mini) was quite tasteless on chewy bread base. It wasn't too busy, so that wasn't the reason for poor service and food.

Popped in late this afternoon. Nearly closing time. We were made so welcome. Lovely ladies made fantastic coffees. Highly recommended.

I believe they are rude and may have a problem with the browned skin race.
Tried to put my pregnant daughter outside to eat.also eggs bene is a cafe trend for brekki or brunch.there's is overloaded with not even crispy bacon water logged.
Sauce is nice egg a slight over done.eggs need to be Sunnyside up runny smooth.
Please change your attitude and the eggs bene please make it look presentable.
And nice to the taste.affordable prices but not quality.hopefully it helps change the way to a brighter and tastier way. #ServiceWithASmile

The most delicious muffins. Yummy texture. Best I've had in a long time. Very friendly service and nice location.

Half way through eating biscuit and found long hair, but damper on things, however Coffee was good, nice sitting outside looking at garden across road. Staff aplogised and gave money back.

It's been some time since I last made a visit to this cafe and I was glad it
was still there because you never forget a place for their great service to your table, their variety of food and beverage choices and for me the healthy filled sandwiches and fruit mix. What's new for me is the outdoor street tables, the lounge seating and its new and refreshed from when I was last here. A great place to relax for a time from travel and the pressures of work. Love it.
