Not a bad price for the big breakfast, abit of a let down with the burnt toast but a classic cheap feed

We discovered this down by the waterfront cafe when visiting Tauranga in July 2020. Being able to get a shared Eggs Benedict (1 egg each on 2 plates instead of the usual 2 eggs on 1 plate) with creamy sauce and really thick bacon, at 3pm in the afternoon is a pleasant experience for a light meal. Whenever we visit Tauranga now (twice in 1 year so far!) we make a point of visiting this cafe at least once and they have never disappointed. They've been there for nearly 13 years so they're definitely doing something right.

Deliciously fresh mushrooms with a side of bacon, in the idyllic waterfront setting, sign me up! Courteous and efficient staff, asking reasonable prices for good value food. I would highly recommend

Great location as close to the water and playground. Coffee is alright. Maybe it's the pandemic, but the staff is not as "friendly" and engaging. I asked for my vege muffin to be warmed up but it seemed like eternity before it came back. Came back it did but was already mushy from being overheated in the microwave. Before I left I asked for a glass of water, and the staff seemed surprised and repeated "water? " Yes, water please, I replied. Then straight to the washing area to get water from the tap. Really? Need to level up on this.

Good coffee, but I hate a random sign on the wall "these power points are not for public use. " (smiley face was their's!) Random signs class down a joint Whānau, and let customers use your power! I didn't even need to, the sign just annoyed me

The bacon and kumara fritatta is fantastic, especially on a cold morning! Couldn't have been better.

Super long wait time, all the food was undercooked and soggy or cold, watery scrambled eggs, burnt toast, do NOT recommend?

Very nice, food was delicious. Had mince on toast and hubby had breakfast which he also enjoyed.

With an excellent menu at very good prices, this has to be the best place for breakfast in Tauranga. Fresh, quality food - most delicious. Poached eggs cooked to perfection with generous portions. Friendly staff to boot. Not to be missed.

Great location.also keeps longer hours than other nearby cafes so you can still catch up for a coffee after 3pm

This place was meh for me. Could get the same bacon and eggs breakfast for cheaper at Greerton Bakehouse where you also get tomatoes, 2 slices of nice thick cut toast (baked in-house bread btw) with two pcu butter. This place is 2 slices of budget bread and one butter. Not the place for me anyway.

Great value for money. Good coffee. Good hamburger. A bit unfriendly service. Didn't feel welcome. Don't know why.

Spilt my takeaway coffee as i was picking it up, totally my fault, the absolutely lovely barrista was making me a new one *for free* before i could apologise for the mess i made (which they promptly cleaned up with a smile)
Worth going in here just to have these ladies brighten up your day. The great coffee is just a bonus.

If you're looking for a good feed for a good price, stop by here. $13 for a full brekky. Service wasn't amazing but good enough to not affect the 5 stars

An excellent establishment. Provided great food, within a reasonable amount of time. The customer service was adequate, and the cafe was packed, a sign that many other people agree that Cafe On The Strand is a fine dining experience.
