Elizabeth Cafe & Larder reviews
61 A very good place to smash some food, a coffee and a snack.
The coffee here is roasted by Kokako, a great specialty coffee roaster based up in Auckland. The baristas always do the coffee beans justice.
The scones here are great and the Turkish Eggs were amazing. The other kitchen food all looks amazing and the cabinet food is great.
The cafe seems to bring a mix of OAPs and business people. It can get busy but the team here are great and even at its busiest, we didn't have to wait very long.
Worth a visit.
The food is good, I read you are struggling with the continual road works going on outside your door. This is off-putting but the reason we
have stopped coming is because you dont validate parking from the carpark behind as other businesses in the premises do.
Service was so unfriendly from the barista, a smile and a warm welcome goes a long way. Tapping her nails impatiently when I had an issue with my card, to then spilling my coffee when delivered and didn't offer a napkin or anything to clean it up. Wouldn't go back
French Toast was next level amazing - super thick brioche and the orange sorbet ball, saffron-poached pear, honey mascarpone and berry compote were superb. Plenty of free parking around the back.
Sorry guys but our exprience was a fail, coffee was burnt, eggs benny was not good (eggs over cooked, rosti's were way to thick.could of just used 1per plate and drop the price of the dish, sauce was lacking in taste and quantity, for $28 for eggs benny we were expecting better. Might have just struck a bad day but we are basing this review on what we got on the day.
Food was beyond expectations
Service and atmosphere was amazing
But coffee needs some working, didn’t really liked the Mocha ️
Despite it being a very busy Sunday, we were served promptly - with the coffee being excellent, if not perfect.
After a very short wait, our eggs benedict arrived - and although being priced a little steep, it was incredible! You definitely get what you pay for!
The home made potatoe rosti was a nice change from the usual sourdough, and paired exquisitely with the bacon. Eggs done to a t, with just enough hollandaise?
Will be back for more.
Excellent customer service, positive environment and incredible food. Very happy with my experience and will be returning.
Enjoy the food and atmosphere. Surprising the views are good.
Angie is always friendly and has a nice welcoming smile.
Really good food. Staff were very pleasant. Over all a nice cafe to visit. Good selection and caters well for Gluten free.
I actually didn't mind the view, considering it is located on a busy intersection. I enjoyed drinking my coffee seated next to the fire on a cold morning.
The scone was delicious.
Just want to recognize the young brunette lady there on 7.15am Wednesday 10th she was on her own and people started piling in after me. I could tell she was trying her best to keep everyone happy.
Thank you for the service young lady.
Every time I go to this cafe. I am never disappinted. Love the place & especially the style. Classy & trendy! My sort of cafe!
Great service, busy Cafe easy parking close by.
Only had coffee & I will be back when I go through Taranga City
Absolutely rude customer service! Female FOH was so abrupt and rude, we couldn’t believe it! Would never return nor recommend to others!
Terrible big breakfast! Nothing big about it. Tiniest little hard sausage, next to no butter for toast, 1 watery mushroom and bacon so hard it hurt the teeth. Used to love this place but will not be back. What an expensive big breaky and it was absolutely terrible. Not 1 good thing to say! Spent $109 for breakfast there, 3 adults 1 baby and walked away broken and still hungry.
Service lady at counter was amazing hence the star but still no one checked on us. Poor poor poor
Very disappointed to see that vaccine passes not asked for and people being served at the counter without masks. When I questioned a staff member she basically said they are not bothered with the mandates.
As an immune comprised customer I will not be back!
Yum yum yum, yum. Yum yum, yum yum yum.
If I say yum again it's not going to make any sense.
Five stars.
Our coffee was very fast, and yummy.
Both egg Benedict were delicious.
However the Millennial breakfast was filled with coriander and this not stated on the menu. As someone who does not like coriander I would have like to have known this as I wouldn’t have ordered it otherwise. I would recommend that this be added to the menu in the future.
Thank you.
Friendly service but waited an hour for food! I have never waited so long for such average food.toasted bread was burnt and overall the food was not what we expected or paid for.very small serving etc. Manager refused to subsidise the poor experience with a free coffee. Unfortunately will not be returning.
! EXTREMELY RUDE staff members!
We came in as a family of nine
The welcome was: good luck finding table!
Another staff member approached to tell us to hunt our own spot.
Once we found a table, closed to the entrance with bar stools - a staff member said she will ask the manager. She came back saying that that it is only for takeaway coffees - no one queuing for take away but they refuse to sit a family of nine (?)
We were all still standing to wait for the till service - another staff member - a lady with long black hair approached: with hand gestures she said she will only have space and provide service until the customer in front of us - if we want to stay and wait it will be 25 mins wait and another 45mins for the food. And to top it off she added with an attitude: “. So that you don’t get upset. ”
No hello, no welcome, no thank you, no would you like to.
Racist and unwelcoming!
Very disappointing and not worth the time
A zero star will be more appropriate!
Staff were friendly and welcoming. The big brekkie was the best one I’ve had in a long time, full of flavour and cooked beautifully.
