George Cafe

Friendly local spot serving a generous plate of scrambled eggs. The house made bread is great - healthy, wholesome seeds and nuts with a crispy toasted crust. The side of greens was fresh and full of flavour, and the eggs were creamy. Coffee was lighter than my preferred dark roast, but this would be to do with their beans. I look forward to returning.

A cute little get away, for a not so pleasant day zip into this wee cafe.kill a half hour in peaceful atmosphere.

They make a bloody good coffee, but not single shot! Single shot latte came out terribly weak - which isn't unusual for shops that do double by default but there isn't even a small cup option or smaller size milk drink on the menu. And as is par for the course with these hipster type joints it's kinda dirty.

Lovely presentation, lots of healthy vege/vegan food, bit to expensive for a quick bite on work break, we were grubby from working in gardens, felt a bit out of place,

We visited this place this morning for a little treat after Bay Dreams. The food was great, and the staff were all nice and friendly, but the food is definitely overpriced for what it is. On top of that, because we went on a public holiday there was a 15% surcharge, and the way this was calculated was a bit misleading. Instead of the total bill being added and then the percentage added, each item was marked up by 15%, and then rounded up (sometimes up to $1.5 more). We brought this to the attention of the staff, who again, were very polite, but just reiterated that the sum of the bill was accurate. Which it was, but the price of each item wasn’t. Left a sour taste on an otherwise pleasant meal.

Exceptional. Mainly Plant based.

But just have to add it is also unfortunately Very inconsistent, especially with the effort put into the salad in cabinet and the avo on toast portion size

Lovely plant based cafe, staff were welcoming and friendly and explained the dietary requirements for our GF group. Would recommend for a cute breakfast spot in Tauranga!

Everytime we go the coffee seems to take forever to come out. Nice food and people however. Groovy little spot.

Whenever I leave Wellington I get nervous about finding good coffee and good vegan food. Here I've found both! Staying down the road all week for hols so I imagine I'll be frequenting most days. Bravo folks!

It was really busy but the line moved quickly and their wasn't too long of a wait for coffee considering. I also got a chocolate pastry that was probably the best thing I've eaten all year!

Lovely coffee and food. Barista was friendly and smiley. Good person to greet you on the way in. Manager seemed unfriendly and came across bossy and condescending. Being kind to your staff and customers goes a long way ;)

Awesome wee café close to Omanu beach. Staff are pleasant with a smile to greet customers. There is a great range of food to chose from - decadent & nourishing.

Wow amazing vegan food, so yummy, who knew plant based foods tasted so good! Lovely staff and always a amazing selection of tasty treats in their cabinet.

If you like your coffee strong like I do, I can not recommend the one here. Quite watery and an extra dollar for soy milk is also on the 'spenier side of coffee culture. Staff is friendly and atmosphere is cute though.

Amazing cafe! I absolutely recommend it to visitors or locals! The staff is so attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. The food is outstanding, and it's wonderful that they offer such delicious plant-based options! The location is beautiful, and every aspect of the cafe is warm, friendly, and amazing! Great coffee, but also a great place to grab a bite anytime of the day. Love their desserts!

Staff are awesomely friendly, coffee is lovely and food is yum. Only criticism would be that it's a little pricey.

I have been coming to George Cafe every day to work on my school project while I am here visiting family. The staff is great and the food is fantastic as well. I'm not a vegetarian, but everything was so wonderful, I might just consider making the switch.

Best coffee i have found in Tauranga / Bayfair / the mt. / Papamoa, and I’ve tried them all. Also for 7 years in London I went to the same place and they didn’t know my order. After just a week or two of popping in here on the way to work & they know my order and always make it with a smile. Can’t speak highly enough of the staff or the produce. Thanks very much for getting my days off on the right track
