Nicest wait staff ever, recommendations where spot on, best meal we have had in the last 6 months, highly recommend izakai to everyone.

Food was delicious, especially the paua and prawn gyozas. Friendly service, made us feel very welcome!

Broth of the tofu ramen was so salty, chicken dry
and when we went to give polite feed back the waitress argued with us

We got the taster menu and it was great. The creamed paua and prawn gyoza and karaage chicken were particularly good.

Words do not begin to explain how amazing this food was. We came for lunch and spent $65 p/h to try a bit of everything. The food was beautifully presented. The flavours were on point. The staff were attentive without being over the top. We will be back.

Good service however disappointed in food portion. Dont order the lamb ribs tiny pieces overcooked $25 bux later. Ramen was good.

Amazing experience had the $60 a head option where they bring out different options from the menu and just thoroughly enjoyed all the food and the whole taste experience. Amazing service and just a great night of food. Excellent fusion Maori and Japanese kai. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Bay of plenty.

Fantastic Japanese & Maori fusion food and staff (the fusion mainly relates to the food rather than the staff). A good selection of spirits and wines too. We had a great night here watching the world go by from one of their high tables. We had a good view of the chefs having a good view of us watching to see if they were watching us eat their delicious dishes. Thank you to all.

This was a delicious meal, the ramen was absolutely amazing. It had a mild kick to it which was nice. It also had some thicker noodles which is nice to see. The entrees were very tasty and the twist of Māori and Japanese was interesting but the two worked well together. The place it’s self was in the new part of Bayfair which is done very nicely and the decor inside the restaurant managed to flow with the outside. The food also came very quickly and the staff were very prompt which is nice to see. Very nice evening out.

Absolutely delicious blend of japanese and maori kai! We ordered two of the $65 where they choose what to bring out for you an it was amazing. 20/10 for service also they were really friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely bringing our families back here

The food is divine! You will eat food you never thought you would. The flavours are next level. Love this place!

I wanted to love this place, but it was just ok. The ambiance is warm and calm, the menu reads well, the insta photos are attractive…and the food? Just ok. Certain elements were great (the pork belly slices were juicy, tender mouthfuls), others were lacking (the ramen egg noodles tasted like instant noodles). The beef tataki was bland and $25 for 6 gyoza is ambitious. All dishes were presented beautifully.

Wow! Such a beautiful meal! Splashed out and was treated to a fantastic taster menu, everything was delicious! Also some great value options with their yummy ramen dishes about $25. Great staff and atmosphere! We'll be back!

They kai was amazing we had the $65 platter thing you get to try abit of everything i recommend it if its ur 1st time there like it was for me and my partner we left there full wowed and happy was great

Incredible food, coupled with the perfect atmosphere.
Truly unique experience for the taste buds and a nice change from same food, different restaurant. We had the taster option and everything was delish. Our waiter was the owner and he explained the menu so well.
Highly recommend!

This is our 3rd meal here. We are out of town and make a point of having dinner here when we're in town. Again 5/5 amazing food, excellent service and a wonderful environment
