Sabroso Restaurant reviews
73Amazingly helpful and friendly staff made the whole experience so great! And the food was equally as good. Make sure you book ahead especially on the weekends it’s well worth it. Can’t wait to come back!
A second visit in 12 months to Sabroso last night resulted in the same fabulous food, experience and chat with the hard working owners. Well done you two, a little gem in Rotorua.
Absolutely blown away by this place! The service by Sarah was phenomenal, nothing I had ever experienced before. She is attentive and makes you feel completely at home. John was just as amazing with helping us decide on a dessert and making all the food. Everything we ordered was incredible, the margaritas are perfect, specialty coffees are large and delicious. Before we finished our meals we were already planning our next visit. Excellent price as well. See you again soon Sabroso, we are new loyal customers.
Just had dinner at this wonderful unique restaurant and speaking from my own personal preference this place has got to be the best latin restaurant Ive ever ate throughout my entire experience of eating outside. The staffs are also extremely friendly and nice which makes the dinning experience a whole lot better. If travelling to Rotorua again, definitely coming to this place
Excellent. The food was delicious, we highly recommended the calamari and Caipirinhas. Sarah is the best, kindest host, we enjoyed our meal so much.
A small restaurant with amazing service and such tasty food! Was so impressed and will 100% be back if we're ever in Rotorua
Went there for dinner tonight and got the the Chicken Chimichanga. Really delicious flavours, thought the mango dressing on the salad was a great compliment to all the other flavours, and they have great hot sauce! Also excellent service. Highly recommend
Even though they are operating on a more limited basis due to COVID-19, the food is still absolutely delicious and the atmosphere as wonderful as described in previous posts. It was my husbands first time trying Latino food and he loved it. We had chimichangas and taqueria con carne, after the most amazing corn chips and three dips (highly recommended). And the best margarita I’ve tasted since leaving California!
This is the most incredible gem hidden in Rotorua. My boyfriend and I came here tired from a day of biking and quickly regained our energy. Wonderful, passionate waitress served us and made the most devine cocktails I have ever had. Food was faultless - fresh, devine, and brought straight by the chef! Cannot recommend higher.
Amazing service and awesome food! If I could give them 6 stars I would! This in now officially my absolute favourite restaurant in Rotorua! Highly highly recommended.
Been coming here for 15 years. Easily my favourite restaurant. Sarah & John are hospitality masters and their recipes are incredible. Never fails to impress!
Incredible Latin American restaurant in Rotorua! Had the most delicious dinner, every course was fantastic, and the margaritas were stellar - sugar or salt rims, your choice.
Lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere, and top notch service, cannot wait to return!
Best Restaurant in town! So authentic love it so much! It’s the closest thing to the real deal and the owners are awesome people! Muchisimas gracias!
A special treat to finally get back to Sabroso last night. Under the traffic light system it was reassuring our vaccination passes were checked and social distancing between tables. The ambiance, cuisine and service was truely outstanding and a great way to celebrate with loved ones. Sarah and John are consummate hosts.
This place always amazes me, the food the chef puts out is so dam tasty and fresh. It's almost too nice cause you don't want to stop eating it! The lady who runs the front of house is so good at what she does. It feels like she is inviting you in to her own home. Very friendly and jovial, makes great food and cocktail suggestions and is just awesome. This place is definitely always on our list of places to eat at when we visit.
We would definitely go back again! The owner Sarah was so friendly and attentive and really cared that we had a good evening. Beautiful food and the margaritas were on point!
Bloody good food. A great combination of flavours, we ordered 4 different dishes and all were delicious. Owners really friendly too. If I lived in Rotorua this would definitely become my local.
Couldn't agree more with the various descriptions in the reviews below. Very pleased we came here. Have booked again in two days.
Everything was amazing. The ingredients were fresh and the recipes represent pre and post colonisation of Latin America, fusing together ingredients and recipes from Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, and the other Spanish/Portuguese speaking countries that make up Latin America. The owner was born in Venezuela and is very careful with the recipes and ingredients and that the represent past and present Latin America. Every dish was amazing. Come hungry. Lots of gluten free and coeliac friendly dishes.
Awesome food. Attentive service by the owners.
I didn't know what food to chose, so the server picked. What a great choice.recommend the chilli chocolate desert.
