Tay Street Beach Cafe

Really disappointed in the food, avo on toast was only 2 tiny pieces of dry hard toast with a bit of avo in a bowl to spread on urself. Got a poached egg on the side that was overcooked/ chalky inside. Still hungry. Some of the other dishes looked nice and nes fit out looks good.

The coffee was great but the meal we ordered was so so considering its price. I would come back for just the Americano coffee next time and go for a walk by the beach across the road rather than having a meal

Tay St is amazing! We had our wedding reception there and the staff are absolutely incredible! The service was amazing, the food was out of this world. It really was perfect. Highly recommend!

Great local café on the beach. We went on a sunny sunday morning and it was humming and they accommodated our large group. Staff were friendly and efficient. They have a good selection of brunch dishes and great coffee. Would highly recommend.

Nice little cafe and worth a visit for breakfast. Breakfast was pretty good. I was a little surprised when ordering the banana waffle that it came with all of the other ingredients (chocolate, nuts etc) so it was a little sweet but still good. They have inside and outside seating and the flat whites are on point. I wish they would consider selling their cool looking tshirts

What a wonderful place. The service was amazing. Food great as well. And the kids menu was awesome. Highly recommend.

Nice spot, professional staff and good food. Loved the Thai rice noodle salade. We’ll come back for more.

Egg benedict was average.
But strawberry milkshake was just cold strawberry milk I don’t think they know the meaning of the shake. Also ice latte was sweet. They didn’t told me syrup is included.

Waiting in line to place an order for 10min, almost there the man politely asked us to go find a table and he'll send someone to take our order. Waited sitting at the table for 15min looking around, noone came until I decided to stop a waitress and ask her to please take our order (by this time we had been there for 25min without ordering). She was nice and food came pretty fast. Our surprise was when we left. Another waitress run after us, I thought I had forgotten my phone on the table or somenthing similar, but no! She asked us if we had already payed! Seriously? Why would she think we were leaving the place without paying? We said yes, and my friend showed her the receipt, she took the time to read it through and then she apologized.
Was she being racist because we don't look like most of the people that apparently go there? I REALLY HOPE NOT!

Everything was nice, except the food was below average for what they charge. Had the calamari. Barely any slaw is included, just a lot of deep fried calamari.

Friendly staff, lovely spacious interior and fantastic location right across from the beach.
Went there two days in a row for coffees and counter food.

The service was fantastic as the two waiting staff were both on the ball, i.e. Always observing and interacting with customers. The food was delicious and well presented in a timely manner.

Friendly busy café, such a nice happy spot. Staff go above and beyond with their service. Excellent brekkie and coffee.

Enjoyed our lunch today! Service was friendly particularly from the Asian gentleman who was excellent. The female waitresses struggled to smile but perhaps it had been a long morning! Food was lovely. Drinks seemed over priced ($10 for a small milkshake?) But I'm guessing they have to charge high while demand is here. Would return.

There is lovely food there and so is the service, portions were generous the time spent preparing was fast. We will definitely be coming back!

Best eggs Benedict I’ve had.

I came here with my partner over the Easter weekend and ordered the eggs Benedict with bacon and also added potato rosti additionally.

The eggs were cooked to perfection, the hollandaise sauce was great! And the chutney that they had to it OMG! That really made the dish. I normally feel like eggs Benedict sometimes makes me feel like it’s just too rich.but having the chutney was really refreshing! It bought new flavours to the dish where I didn’t feel like the meal left me feeling like I had “too much”.

My partner also ordered the eggs Benedict with salmon and that was good too! It tasted really refreshing!

We also bought a ginger tea and a lemon lime and bitters which were delish!

Everything came to around $70ish.

Nice food, awesome size serves, great coffee, beach vibe, suffers popping over the road to pick up coffee and awesome staff.

Poor, slow service -30 minute wait for a salad. What we ordered was not what we got. There were no acceptable explanations. Won’t go there again.

I was buying a takeaway coffee for a friend that is in isolation. The service was great and my friend messaged me and said it was a great coffee. I left it in my friends letterbox
