The Trading Post Bistro & Pizzeria reviews
66Food here is great! If you are local or passing through I would definitely recommend a visit!
VERY disappointing. No correlation between prices and quality. Had a reservation for 12.15 and waited for food for 1.15 hs. I find paying 7.50$ for a potato rosti (a patty sized potato) outrageous. Food was cold and lacking flavour. Could have made my B. L. A. T sandwich at home. The bread was plain and just had spread avocado, lettuce, tomato and bacon. It cost 21$!
When the waitress came to our table to ask how food was, we said OK. She did not ask any further questions, which made it seem they did not care enough. We didnt want to complain cause we understand people work hard but def not recommend and wont come back.
Didn't realize that you could stop in for morning tea - fresh coffee and croissant! Yum!
If you want the real deal, with exquisite authentic Italian flavour and hospitality, you MUST come here. The service, the atmosphere and most of all the food, is nothing short of spectacular.
Great wine, cocktail and beer selection.
The food took us straight back to Itlay, and we left with huge smiles on our faces!
We definitely will be back and recommend this place highly!
Food was not what I was expected from an Italian restaurant.
It taken them an hour for three breakfast sandwiches and everything was cold when it came to the table.
Food isn’t worth the price. The focaccia was hard and tasteless, same with the rest of our order.
Service was ok, but I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Wow! Absolutely scrumptious! The leek olive and tomato cheesy focaccia flatbread. I would literally drive out of town to get this again! It was the most delicious focaccia that I have ever had. I bought this while traveling through the town alongside 2 cappuccinos and a cannoli which was delicious too, the coffee was good too even my partner was impressed. The new owners were friendly and chatty. Although I wasn't staying that outdoor and indoor area was very inviting. Lovely touches inside of beautiful wares of the decor shop next door. It felt homely and sheek at the same time. I would highly recommend stopping in there for food whether you are staying in or getting takeaways.
I really enjoyed ourexperience there with friendly staff and prompt service.
However the lighting was far too bright for a dining atmosphere and the food was pretty bland. Though beautifully presented. Looking forward to a tastier range of food and a more intimate atmosphere next time. My partner really enjoyed his brunch as well
Had a great coffee and very good cabinet food this morning. Definitely recommend and we will come again. Staff very friendly and nice to sit outside on a warm winters morning
Variety on the menu is small. Everything we ordered was delicious but not many options, especially if you have an unadventurous eater in the group.
What a fantastic shop full of all sorts of stuff you might want.sadly I miss read name and went to trade a post (that I'd become sick of) for something more useful which I wasn't able to do.
My wife and I love dining here. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, like being at home, but with delicious food and friendly staff. Highly recommend dining here when in the Bay. Set price of 2 or 3 course is fantastic. Order a bottle of wine and enjoy the evening.
Update Jan 2023: Takeaway coffee is great too!
Great find on our travels. Great food, great service, great coffee in a beautiful rustic setting. Would highly recommend.
Lovely bistro in little Paengaroa. Excellent service, interesting menu and will look forward to trying dinner.
Wow. What fabulous food and service. Had beef cheek plus the fish for mains.profitoroles for dessert. 10/10. Fabulously yummy
Great little Cafe to visit when you cycle from Rotorua via the back gravel roads and Liechtenstein Rd Cycle Trail.
Not what I expected. Packaged food warmed up with fresh eggs or bacon. Offered pavlova for pud, it was a store bought mini merengue with cream and small peices of fruit. Nothing home made at all. Not good.
A gastronomic delight. A real gem. How lucky are we to have The Trading Post! A lovely menu, impeccably fresh first rate produce and creative plflavour matching = wonderfully flavoursome food at a good price. We can't fault this restaurant it really is so good. Staff are knowledgeable and polite and the live music on a Sunday is entertaining but never intrusive. Always a wonderful experience.
Went for brunch. Not a huge choice but didn't matter because the food was
delicious and coffee great.
It was ok. I had poached eggs and bacon. 1 of my eggs was overcooked. The bacon wasn't crispy it was chewy and I couldn't cut it.
Had a very pleasant lunch today sitting outside with 3 friends. Lovely staff great cocktails food very nice. Would be very happy to go there again. Thanks for a great day.
