Urbano Bistro Cafe & Restaurant

Below average food, and for a vegetarian option having to pay more for less food. If you like food taste, eating healthy and not leaving a restaurant needing to go elsewhere to fill your stomach and cleanse your taste buds, I would suggest going elsewhere.

Superb! The food is excellent, the varied menu offers ample choice and the staff are very pleasant and attentive. We have dined here for lunch and dinner on occasions as a couple, with family, with friends and we have never been disappointed. Highly recommended.

We walked here from Sport of Kings motel and had a great meal. The fish and chips were really good and the food was plated beautifully. Dessert was the real show stopper. We ordered 3 different ones to try, the best being the coconut and lime ice cream. Would definitely eat here again. Convenient location and walkable from most popular hotels.

Nice food, but don’t go on a Saturday night. Our party of five waited 1 hour and 40 minutes before the ordered dishes arrived….

Would not go here again unfortunately my experience was not adequate to the recent reviews I read before booking here. We were greeted with disgust by the OWNER! Such bad customer service. Although we waited with a dozen kids for a good 20 minutes to be served when we went and asked the other wait staff to serve us they were a lot more accommodating than the owner. No matter the circumstances I think speaking to people in a calm and kind manner always reflects how you control a certain situation. You handle it with grace or your outright rude and unfortunately we got rude and had it not been for the fact my nieces and nephews were starving all 26 of us would have got up and left!

The place is almost full because the food fantastic, and their hospitality very good, i order prawn, soup of the day (curry / very nice by the way), beef and pork everything in here is amazing love it

Always fabulous service and you definitely get what you are paying for, the food is delicious and the staff are great. I have been coming here for years either in a large group or a couple, they cater to all and the food always comes out hot and in decent time. Never any complaints, love it!

My wife and I dined at Urbano last evening, the service, the ambience, and the meal, both in taste and presentation, was in our opinion, at such a high standard, you would be hard pressed to find peer in NZ, or indeed internationally.

Went to Urbano on the recommendation of folks we met on a wine tasting vineyard tour. It did not disappoint in any respect. Attentive staff, great food and a friendly ambience. Top tips on wine from the proprietor fella. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely loved it! Beautiful setting amazing staff, we went to celebrate our anniversary of being together for 4 year and they certainly made our night special! The meals were beautifully cooked, and we will definitely be back again!

Went late for only coffee and dessert and was treated with total respect and welcomed.

Appears locals were being attended to and would I go back? Definitely not.

Great service. Hosts made us feel welcome and important. Food was served quickly and the lamb and steak were done to perfection.melt in the mouth and fine sauces. We have been twice in the last 4 days and highly recommend this fine restaurant.

We had the privilege of having dinner at Urbano, and everything about our experience was amazing. The service was absolutely brilliant, super friendly and knowledgeable. We got the opportunity to try ostrich and would absolutely recommend that to any red meat lovers! I never order chicken, but this chicken was hands down the best chicken we had ever eaten! Excellent chefs, excellent front of house and fabulous atmosphere. Highly recommend

Phenomenal food and service. My husband and I dropped in at short notice and they the managed to accommodate us. I ordered the special which was ostrich and my husband ordered the vegetarian (with chicken) entrees. My husband had one bite and his face lit up “wow, this is awesome” fantastic flavors. I had never had ostrich before however after chatting with the waiter / manager I took the plunge… it was also awesome. The wine and local beer also hit the spot. With regards to service, I can praise the staff highly enough. Very helpful, courteous and knowledgeable.
I cannot rate Urbano highly enough, would definitely recommend.

Epic dining experience, been here twice in the last 4 days. We didn't even need the steak knives, melt in your mouth deliciousness. I had the lamb and he had the sirloin on both nights although I was tempted by the tarikihi tonight. Awesome food accompanied by spectacular service, book your table now. Sharon
