Volare Restaurant

We have visited several times. Food consistently good, full of flavour, sauces are unique, gluten free options which taste as good as non gluten.
Great service and atmosphere.
We will be back

First time at Volare and also our last. Firstly, the service was abysmal. Very slow, lacking in menu knowledge, drinks forgotten etc etc. Secondly, the food was mediocre and that’s being generous. We both had to have the beef rib with risotto as our first and second choices were unavailable? Seriously? There’s only a few choices on the menu in the first place! Anyway, the beef was full of gristle and over salted and the risotto was just ok - nothing special. Extremely disappointing and a very expensive mistake we won’t be repeating.

We have dined at Volare three times previously in the past 10 months and those visits were all five star, excellent food & service. Sadly our visit last night was quite disappointing. Waiting for drinks orders seemed to take a long time, and nobody was circulating to see if you wanted to order more drinks. When we made our food orders, our waitress told us the Risotto of the day was pancetta, so I ordered this, when it came to the table it was seafood. My wife ordered the fish of day which was salmon & clams, to which we specifically asked to have the clams removed. When this came to the table the salmon was resting neatly on.clams. So the plate went back to the kitchen. The salmon was slightly over and the broccolini was undercooked. The arancini balls however were excellent, the hero of that meal. My seafood risotto was very good, so a happy mistake for me, although it had clams that had not been washed very well and were gritty (sand I expect). We gave our feedback when we settled our bill (we paid in full), it turns out the pancetta risotto was the previous nights special (the waitress made a mistake) and the fish of the day order did have a note (recorded on our order) to the kitchen staff to hold the clams. Really sad to say that we will not be returning to Volare.

Great service, delicious food and menu, very nice atmosphere. Make sure you book ahead as they are quite busy especially on weekends.

We were so excited to go back there after it had been closed for so long. Volare used to be our absolute fave not just for the amazing food but also the outstanding service. Sadly our experience was below average.couldn't fault the food but the service was bad. We had 4 different waitresses, drinks got forgotten and arrived wrong, long wait, food arrived and no cracked pepper was offered, just not tentative at all: - (sooooo disappointing. There are so many fantastic food places around now, and I think there is just no excuse for bad service. You pay good money to go out for food and expect to be looked after. Real sorry to say we won't be going back there.

My partner and I had dinner at Volare tonight and it was one of the best restaurant experiences we have had in Tauranga. We had the ravioli, chicken cacciatore pasta, seafood pasta and shared a tiramisu. Everything was well seasoned, cooked to perfection and fresh. The service was consistently great, the wine was delicious and even the music was good. Couldn’t fault the meal. It has been a long time since we have had a dining experience this good and we dine out regularly.

We usually loved Volare, but haven't been since the refurbishment. But last Saturday night we thought we go for a treat and a treat it was. After being placed on uncomfortable chairs and waiting patiently for 20 minutes we could finally order. Unfortunately there is no kids menue so don't bother to bring your kids under 10. The delivery of our drinks took further 25 minutes and we are talking about water and cider. The food turned up 10 minutes after that, but as the waitress forgot one meal on the neighboring table, she offered my dish to them and offered me another dish, which I declined. My new dish was delivered 15 minutes after that and tge pasta was undercooked, the king prawn contained only the head. Will we go back?

Great experience. Had the Pasta Nera, highly recommend. We were well looked after. Had the dessert with ice-cream and fruit soaked in rum (not for the fainthearted, seriously strong!). Will visit again.

Been coming to Valare for several years now, atmosphere and food is delightful! Love how flexible the chef's strive to be offering off the menu options if desired. Mary the head hostess front of house is so welcoming and warm

Lovely as always but please increase the size if the Agnolotti (pumpkin pasta) main. I ate it in 4 mouthfuls & was left wanting more. Otherwise everything was great

Amazing meal, perfectly cooked steak, everything was delicious. The kids loved their meal too. Friendly staff and very fast service. Would definitely recommend.

Great food and ambiance! Sad that they are closed now but had an amazing dining experience on their last night! If they were to stay open, will definitely come back! Thank you for a fun experience.

Great dining experience! The food and deserts were delicious and our Italian waitress Barbara was awesome with helping us pick the wine and making sure that everything was alright throughout the evening. Really added to the Italian atmosphere. Will definitely come back.

Amasing place, very friendly staff, great food, gorgeous views over the harbour upstairs and the Tiramisu.my god thats good.you have been warned.

Food here is delicious, everything we tried was cooked to perfection. Service was pretty good, some staff better than others. Atmosphere was lovely. We had a great time, would highly recommend.

The private function upstairs took all their efforts as a result we were left unattended with poor service and bland food.

Head waitress Mary had the best intentions however and tried to keep us alive and engaged. Good on you Mary!

Absolutely Devine. The steak was perfectly cooked and the fettuccine was beautiful. I had the duck and it was full of flavour. Delicious! Highly recommend and the service was top class. Definitely will be back

The food was very good and the dining experience was 10/10 due to the fantastic service by our waiter, Barbara who is Italian. She is professional and understands your needs and conducts herself accordingly.

This is our go to place.we absolutely love everything about Volare. The food is absolutely devine, the cocktails are fantastic. If we want to treat ourselves, this is where we go. The staff are great, Mary makes the most amazing cocktails and makes you feel like you are part of the family.
Luigi runs an amazing restaurant, the pasta is always fresh, the food absolutely perfect.the place to go to for us!

Fantastic service and the food was divine! I would definitely recommend Volare restaurant for a great night out.
