Zippy Central Bar & Cafe reviews
68Ordered the veggie zip, and corn fritter. Delish and great friendly service. Came out fast even though it was busy. Nice spot out the back.
The best coffee in town, surrounded by a creative and inspiring environment. ZACK is the barista you want in your life, he makes amazing coffees and always has the sweetest smile and attitude. Definitely recommend!
Really cute cafe and nice staff! I would recommend the hot chocolate, it's soo delicious:)
Delicious food, great options on the menu, lovely staff. Highly recommend for families, great kids options. Our fussy little eaters loved their bagel and porridge. 5 stars for sure!
The coffee bar is cute and the staff nice but that's it for us.
Smoothies are actually milkshakes - very unpleasant for us who don't like dairy.
The fries are frozen (good like everywhere in New Zealand.).
We haven't tried anything else.
Nice food prices reasonable coffee could have been a little hotter. Service was prompt goodvto support local businesses.
They have a new menu so thought we'd try it.
Front staff stuffed up one order so it was sent back. Then my daughter had to wait for the correct meal to arrive.
Food was delicious. The children's portion of fish n chips was massive. Worth the money.
A rotorua local who is loving the fresh look and menu at the Cafe. Great kids menu and the best eggs bene in town and super good prices. We will be back.
Solid breakfast/lunch/coffee place. 12-15 tables inside and a couple outside. Fans on ceiling, but still a bit stuffy in back. Local art on walls. One outlet that I saw. Wi-fi with password you ask for. Substantial breakfast and lunch menu and selection of desserts. Small selection of decent bagged teas.
Cute diner like cafe with 3 different meals and lots of variety of drinks. The staff was nice. The food selection was okay but we werent very excited about it. Their is a bagel option for everyone like said but unfortuantely our bacon bennie came out cold. And the sauce was just okay. Mediocore but could be worth the try. Had the granola with a compote. I do like this type of made granola. Avo bagel was also just okay.
I came here every morning during my stay in Rotorua.great breakfast and enjoyed the coffee. Service with a smile and loved the vibe. If I'm ever lucky enough to come back to Rotorua I will come back for breakfast
Watch out for the owner Aman. Treats his Staff terribly with intimatdation tactics to the women. If you want to work where there's no rosters and get bullied while he plays a victim. Zippys and his new establishment in the mount are the place for you.
+ Tasty wraps
- The falafel wrap turned out to be super cheesy. That's fine, but the name didn't make that clear. Maybe call it "Cheesy Falafel Wrap"?
We ordered the Mussels. Only for the Cook to come out to say that it has been off the menu “a while ago”. Please update the menu and front staff.
The Prawn dish was looks pretty sad for $25. There was only 3 prawns and small salad.
The cheesecake looks amazing sadly it had no flavour.
Not your best day…
So frustrating. This place used to be great. Last few times have been average. Particularly went there for small flat white as they do them well. This time they up sized it to a regular without telling me they didn’t have small takeaway cups. Had to throw it out as coffee was too diluted. Also changed the menu so probably not going back. Will have to find a new favourite
We've been twice now and the coffee has been consistently delicious - best we've found in Rotorua so far.
Had breakfast as well today which was also yum - the 'Green Zip' and 'Little Italy'. Only improvement would have been if the Little Italy (creamy mushrooms on toast) came on nicer bread.
Staff friendly and efficient - we'll be back
I was looking for somewhere to get eggs bene and my partner thought we would check out this place it was down one of the side streets I was suprised how friendly the workers were and they all seemed absolutely lovely and served a really good eggs bene which I've never had one this size before from a cafe? For sure happy and will be coming back when im next in Rotorua
We were on the hunt for a cafe and just randomly came across this in Rotorua. I'm so happy we found it. Great food and the atmosphere was the coziest. My husband had their dark ale hot pot and it was fantastic. I wish I took pics but we were very hungry and devoured everything. The owner was super kind too.

Very good breakfast and a large variety of choice. The food portions were great, and reasonably priced. The coffee was strong. A great little cafe!
