Golden Crust Bakery & Cafe reviews
26It does the job but don't expect too much. Pies are full of a salty filler, not the best at all.
Not like it use to be 10years or so ago. Straight up discussing, food doesn't even look fresh and I went in at 11am, waste my money chucked my food in the bin
Friendly staff. Food was nice and hot. Good variety of drinks and you can have takeaway hot drinks.
Nice and friendly staff but the mince and cheese pie wasn't good. Pie was very, very sour and didn't taste like anything
Got a pie this morning pie wasn't very good, wasn't well sealed around the top mince everywhere. The bottom was soggy mince fell out of the bottom. Need to improve the pies especially around the top.
Just the flies food great, great customer service. Tho very busy waiting was honestly very minimal
Always a selection to choose from. Best pies in town.
Only downfall is its always packed with customers and can get loud and overbearing at times.
Got mince & cheese pie and it was very bland
Also a Leamington that tasted like it had been around for a couple of weeks it was dry/stale and they are very small for the price
Disappointing today nearly got charged twice for a drink, then get to beach to enjoy a Steak pie and it's a friggen Butter Chicken pie. I tried to eat it, but I really didn't like it. Took it back, the owner had the nerve to say I had eaten some of it ️️ well, of course I did! Won't be going back!
Very good food and popular.
Just don't like how my daughter is used as a pawn to save the boss $ on public holidays and lets full timers of
Love this place because it was open. The others were closed (Sunday). Has a basic range of snacks.
Favorite bakery in gisborne so far. Lots of variety.best chicken and chips in town.great prices
The best mince and cheese pies the best pancakes and they even sell my most fave drink PUHOI Colombian expresso which is hard to find
Nice food and coffee. Takeaway or a couple of Formica sit-down tables, some outside. Hard to notice staff behind cabinets. Next door to SPCA opshop
Having consumed about 10,000 pies in my 60 yrs of scoffing I feel qualified enough to know a good pie. Apart from being flavour some, there needs to be a generous meat to sauce/gravy ratio, the pastry must be light and COOKED, and above all the temperature has to be at the scoffable level. Those establishments that serve thermo-nuclear hot pies need to be closed down immediately for health and safety reasons. Well this place in Gisborne ticks all the boxes, only gripes are there was no pepper steak left at 11am and I prefer self service rather then the pressure of making an immediate decision in the line. Also feel these guys could make some great gourmat pies, maybe crayfish or wild venison that could be award winners.
Cheese & onion sandwich wasnt that great, lucky the flatwhite was spot on. Usually pretty good food, and always good service.
Always busy,
Good range & selection
Well priced food, clean at front of house.
Dining option available.
Friendly staff.
Service and selection absolutely great but tables were still dirty flies hanging around the tables and no rubbish bins
Always nice fresh hot food the slices and cakes I've had better but still is my go to for a pie.
