Ko Kai

I missed Korean food while traveling, so I was very happy to see Jeyuk Deopbap on the menu. I was surprised by the amount of meat in the spicy pork and it was so delicious. The spiciness is just right, so even people who can't take spicy food will enjoy it. This is a must-see for Koreans traveling to Gisborne^^
The owner is a native Korean haha.

Wow! I discovered this place a year ago and after my first taste of the fried chicken, my weekly addiction began. There was no looking back. Honey soy chicken and sweet and spicy chicken are the bomb. The best fried chicken in town! Owners are very friendly and welcoming

Love this place, so nice to be getting different food options here. I've always gotten really nice service and the food is yummy! The hotdogs are a hit!

Our family used to only have 2 choices of takeaways (mcdonalds&kfc) until we tasted Ko Kai, it is delicious Korean food and my teens love it as much as us

Some egg worker with brown hair and blonde highlights couldn't even get my family's orders right. Also there was hair in one of our bowls.

Trying to call to pre order is the worst. Phone just rings and rings with no answer. Korean fried chicken and sweet n spicy chicken is bomb though

First time my sister and I tasted Korean food. Tried the Kimchi as a side dish and although the flavours will take time to get used to enjoyed the crunch. Loved the Bul Dak, Jeyuk, Chips and Crispy Chicken Popcorn which were all beautifully cooked. Appreciated the quiet patience and politeness of the young girl at the counter as I took my time chopping and changjng my order. Enjoyed the service from the owners (I think). Especially liked and appreciated the friendly pronunciation lesson by the chef/owner. Highly recommend this little Dine-in/Takeaway to all who read this review.

I had the fried chicken on rice and didn't regret it. Also good for dairy and gluten free options.

The girl serving is very rude and arrogant. Didn't give the correct change I gave her $23 for a $13 order she gave back $7. I won't be going back

Just had the bulgogi - it was delicious and so fresh! The staff were also lovely, I highly recommend this place! Next time I'm in Gisborne, I'm heading straight here to try the sweet and spicy Korean fried chicken ️
