Great place for some drinks and a bite to eat. Nice setting with great views of the harbour and nicely positioned to watch the sunset.
Food and service were good, beer was nice and cold.
Tables outside on the deck are nice and big so ideal if you are a group of friends meeting up for some drinks.
Overall, it was a great experience and I would visit again.

Great food, prime location. The seasonal veg were just delicious - staff were attentive and obliging even the new waiter who was very pleasant and responsive despite it being her first day. Thank you

We made an online booking Saturday July 9th for dinner. When we got there we were greeted with a very warm welcome by a young man who I think was the restaurant manager who seated us straight away. We were then greeted by a young Maori man who took our order. We were very impressed with his up selling skills, excellent table service, warm manner and great personality which made us even more keen to revisit this beautiful town. The food was nothing short of amazing and the service was 2nd to none! You have a great team! Well done

3 star. The food is good. However the place needs a good clean and the staff need to learn how to be polite and professional. Much better places to eat in gisborne with much more affordable prices.

Pretty ratshit overall, unwiped tables in bar from previous patrons, waitress couldn't answer any questions regarding the menu, very long wait from ordering to being served, no staff asked if we would like our drinks refreshed while waiting Eventually two meals came out and we were nearly finished by the time the third was served. The food was acceptable other than the lime wedges which looked like they were sliced 3 weeks ago and put in a dehydrater for a hour.

I once waited at lone star for my meal for about 3 or 4 hours while my party and everyone else ate, I wasn't impressed. I went to lone star for my brother's birthday on Monday, and the waitress was great! She was on the ball and friendly. My meal was so good I couldn't stop eating and basically had to be rolled out the door.

We were visiting Gisborne and went for dinner with another family. The food was excellent and I was able to find some gf and df options.for me and my mum. Our waiter was very helpful and did a great job of providing greatt service. I would happily eat there again.

We turned up for dinner without a booking a couple of days before Christmas, and after a short wait we were lucky enough to be seated. The service by all who dealt with us was on point, exceptional! The food was next level, massive servings packed with flavour leaving 3 of us very full and satisfied. I highly recommend the Lone Star Gisborne, you won't be disappointed.

Lonestar Gisborne was amazing 25/1/22 6.15pm last night. Special mention goes out to: the lovely lady who gave us such a beautiful warm Gizzy welcome (even though she looked like she was run off her feet) ; the barman who made our delicious mojitos and bounty hunters (so yummy) ; the chef who cooked our 3 x ribeye and sirloin steaks to perfection, with even our lamb rack expert connoisseur who told us it was the best he's ever had, and last but not least, Heath (our waiter) delivered fast, super-efficient, exceptional customer service way above and beyond all of our expectations (we all shook his hand repeatedly to extend our appreciation.you deserve a payrise mate, thank you so much). Thank you to all of you for helping make my 20th anniversary even more special, especially when we were relocated outside and got to take-in the most romantic-looking sunset in the world.

Went for my birthday dinner last night and the service was exceptional! Food was yummy all of us enjoyed our meals and the whole dining experience. Shout out to the server with the dreads you were amazing!

We came to the restaurant with friends on the 3/1/22, our waiter was awesome! It did however take a long time 40mins for our entree and kids meals to come to us, we had 4 children only 3 received meals and one had to wait another 10 mins to get hers.
We ordered garlic bread as our entree, it was just bread with butter and was so chewy and hard. In the process of eating, it damaged my partial plate which I'm now needing to replace at a cost of $1100.
Adults mains arrived and where fantastic! Over all the service was great, food was great apart from the garlic bread. Kitchen maybe need to work on getting kids meals out to a table all at the same time.

I have been to Lone Star many times before but the family meal we shared there recently was absolutely different and fabulous. Perfect meal and compliments to the Chef and Serving Staff were amazing. We will be going back again in a couple of weeks.

Had a lovely dinner with my friends a few nights ago. Our waiter was absolutely amazing, he was so friendly and really made us enjoy our night. 10/10 service thanks heath:) Will definately be dining again soon!

Got on the chop here with some mate's. Feels classy, best veiw from any bar in the land. You could pick up hot rich chicks here with some skill.

I don’t go often, but when I do, I can never complain - except maybe if the portions are too big? But then they offer a takeaway container so it’s all good there too!
