Great customer service and really good food, had the chicken burger with fries and it was fantastic. Portion size was much bigger than I had expected to get for $20 (probably almost twice as much as what some of the photos on other reviews from a few years ago show). Will definitely be back next time I'm in Gisborne!

This is my wife and I go to for a Turkish Kai, the owner treats everyone with respect and puts a lot of love and effort into preparing the food. Absolutely love it here.

Has been our favorite restaurant for years and good see its back. New management doing a great job in these tough times but the food is still as tasty as ever. Delicious Baklava dessert for a reasonable price and the service has always been friendly. Cheers

Sofra has been my go-to Turkish place for years now! Generous portions, always flavour-filled, consistently good, and beautiful service and good banter with owner who still recognises me years later.

Absolutely wonderful Turkish. The staff made my heart melt with their happy smiles and friendly service. We had a group of 5, all of us satisfied. Loved my mixed Iskender. My only suggestion would be perhaps that the hummus needed more flavour, but that could be my Kiwi tastes. Everything else was simply fabulous, generous portions and sooo tasty. A must try for Gisbourne!

It was literally the slowest service i’ve ever received.i don’t understand how it was so slow? I don’t think i could’ve been that slow if i tried.

Large, flavoursome quality kebabs served with a smile. Good selection of auces to spice things up. Also comes in a smaller size for the less hungry. Vegetarian options available. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner.

Comfortably the best takeaway in Gisborne. Great food and very friendly service. I can highly recommend the chicken burger and chips but then again the chicken salad is beautiful as well. Friends I am with in Gisborne say that the lamb salad and mixed grill are also brilliant. Thanks to Helen and her family.

They discriminate between the vaxxed & unvaxxed when the Vpassport does not & cannot stop transmission of con-vid. Just because they don't won't to become a place of interest. I realize this makes them a victim of government intimidation, but if businesses don't stand up to this tyranny, New Zealand will be lost to communism.

Ben going for years but standards have now droped in hygeine useing 1 pair of gloves for the food and dont even take them off to use efpos machine then back to food

A regular in our evening and sometimes lunch plans:) they even split a kebab for me so I can get hot sauce and my little guy gets none. Can't eat a large on my own, great value for money! A+ all the way!

Absolutely the best kebab in gisborne and mabey the best kebab in nz. Always really good and helpful service, and lovely staff. They put a lot of meat and and a big collection of salads on their kebabs and they always taste awesome. Thanks sofra

Amazing service the people are so kind and everything is always cooked perfectly and has lots of sause, truly the best turkish place I've ever been and the people that own the place are honestly so nice and always remember their customers.so much better than the wrap that is always dry and over priced and has terribly service.

Been a customer for years just got home with food meat and chips.hardly any meat asked the owner and he says the run out.thanks alot hungry kids tonyt.

Always delicious meals here.
A wee bit cold inside during winter but the food more than makes up for it!
